Extended Summary

Robbie and Kim have been trying to cheer up Tasha at the Diner. She still blames herself for what happened to Noah. She has left her mobile behind and Robbie calls Josie. A few hours later she’s in Summer Bay, comforting Tasha. Tasha’s whole outlook changes completely.

Leah puzzles over whether Vinnie was in a witness protection scheme. She knows the one person who could answer that question… Jesse. Before she can ask him, there’s the little matter of the Surf Club committee vote on the Kiosk. After Rhys and Jesse have made their pleas, Rhys demands the committee members vote publicly. The votes are split. Leah casts the deciding vote. She chooses Jesses’ proposal.

Rhys is furious; he storms out of the Surf Club, accusing Leah of favouritism and Alf of betrayal. Alf says he turned against Rhys because he threatened him in his own business. He accuses Rhys of being irresponsible, insensitive, arrogant and foolish. Alf turns and walks away. Rhys is even more stunned when
he sees Tasha walking towards him with Josie in tow. He hasn’t seen Josie for more than 15 years! She makes it quite obvious that she detests him. She says she might be seeing him around a bit more; she’s moving to Summer Bay! Rhys says he doesn’t think she’ll be seeing him around at all. He’s obviously decided not to come back to the Bay.

Back in the Surf Club, Leah asks Jesse about Vinnie being in witness protection. Jesse thinks it’s insane. He’s worried that Leah only voted for him to get that information. Leah tells him no, but Jesse is dubious. He realises that he’s got to move on from Leah – once and for all.

Flynn talks with Dan Baker and tells him that there’s no way of knowing how long Peter will be in a coma. Dan reveals that he is a student counsellor, between jobs.

Dan makes Leah realise that if she wants to start official inquiries into Peter’s allegation, she may put Vinnie’s life in danger. She decides to see if Peter wakes up soon. If he doesn’t, she can pursue official inquiries.

Irene is gob-smacked that Josie has decided to move to Summer Bay. She accuses her of playing games. Josie assures her it’s no game, she just wants to get to know Tasha. What’s more, she’s going to seek guardianship. A furious Irene retorts that Josie’s ‘profession’ will stand in her way. But Josie doesn’t think so; she knows enough men of influence in the law to alleviate the problem. Josie warns Irene not to force her to act like Angie. When it comes to Tasha, Josie is prepared to fight.
