Extended Summary

Grant gets rid of the speed in the kitchen sink. Kim is hysterical. She says she will get more drugs. Grant says this was the last drug she ever had.

Ben comes home from Marilyn’s party. Sally is doing Christmas cards. Ben talks to her for a short while.

Sophie tells Pippa and Sally about the cleaning on the beach tomorrow. Sally and Pippa had decided to go Christmas shopping instead so that’s what they will do. Sally shows Pippa a Christmas card.

Kim and Grant talk. Kim is upset since Grant makes it sound as if she is a junkie (which she is, sort of).

Grant asks her how long it’s been going on and how often she uses it. She says it’s been going on for 6 or 7 months and she use it once a day and sometimes more. Grant feels very angry and upset. He phones Ben. He will come over to talk to Grant.

There’s another “Environment meeting” at Alf’s house again with Karen as the leader of it. A lot of people are there. They work out who will be in each of the clean-up teams when they will clean up the beach.

Blake gets upset since Karen will be on Haydn’s team. Blake and Haydn still can’t get on at all. Sophie talks to Blake in the kitchen and tells him to leave Haydn alone. Sophie also tells him that Karen likes Haydn. Sophie grabs Blake in his shirt to show him that she is serious about it. Blake are ok with it.

Grant explains to Ben about Kim’s drug problem. Ben will watch Kim at Grant’s house while Grant goes out to talk to Fisher.

Grant comes to the Diner and talks to Fisher. Grant says he needs some time off from school. He can’t say the real reason behind it. Fisher is puzzled. Grant says it is very important but he can’t say what it is. Grant has to be away for a while.

Kim is worried and wants Ben to stop keeping her in Grant’s house. He won’t do that since he promised Grant that he would stay there until he comes back to the house. Kim is upset and screams that Grant never cared about her when she really needed him. Kim is very annoyed and say that Ben is as bad as Grant is.

Sophie tells Karen that she told Blake to stop giving Haydn a hard time. Karen is happy about that and will now have to think of a way to impress Haydn to get him to like her.

Grant tells Pippa that he will have to go away for some time. She is puzzled why he has to go away all of a sudden and it’s not the end of the term either. He asks for Steven but he is out. Grant tells Pippa to leave Steven a message saying, “I’m sorry I shot the messenger”.

Pippa are puzzled but will tell that to Steven. Grant knows that Steven will understand what he meant.

Sally, Sophie and Karen are shocked about why Grant is going away. They wished them a happy Christmas even though it isn’t Christmas yet.

Grant comes home again. Ben leaves after a short while. Ben wishes Grant the best of luck to get his sister out of the drug problem.

Grant offers Kim a meal. Kim is arrogant to him. Grant say that they are going away from everyone into the bush and the open air until she have got all drugs out of her system so she can think about what she want to do with her life. She is angry with him. He doesn’t care since he is determined to go through with this. He has to get his sister out of the drug habit no matter what.

Karen talks to Blake about Haydn. She makes sure that he won’t interfere between her and Haydn. He says he won’t interfere but it is obvious that he isn’t happy about it.

The beach cleaning starts. A lot of people are there. Sophie, Blake, Karen, Haydn etc. Alf and Karen act as leaders of the troops!

Fisher talks to Grant. There is a possibility that he can lose his job if he don’t come back in time for the new term. Fisher can’t guarantee that he will have his job then. Grant is ok with that since his sister are more important to him at the moment.

Grant can’t do the school play anymore. Grant talks Fisher into taking over the play. After a long talk Fisher agree to give it a try. Kim overhear it all and cries since she feel so bad for what she have done and for the fact that Grant can lose his job because of the whole thing.

When Fisher has left she cries even more and tells Grant how horrible she has been. She apologises.

She thinks Grant hates her. He say he doesn’t hate her – he just hate what she was doing to herself (the drugs).

They hug. (Emotional music)

Grant phones his mum and says that Kim and him will go away for a while. He doesn’t say the real reason behind it. After the phone call, Kim thanks him for not telling their mum. Grant say that he did it for their mum and dads sake only. Grant say that if Kim ever falls back on the drugs then he will tell them for sure. Kim must give it her best shot to survive without the drugs.

The beach cleaning is in full swing. (Music plays). The kids enjoy it. Alf keeps the count on how much garbage everyone collects! Haydn found a bra on the beach as well! He shows it to Karen and she laughs!

Grant and Kim packs and are about to leave for their trip. Kim says that she really wants to make this work. He is very happy about that. She has an emotional talk to him. She is very grateful to him for putting an end to what she was doing to herself. (Emotional music plays).

Blake and Haydn sort of compete with each other in the beach cleaning “tournament”! Blake jokes around and throws Haydn’s cap into the water. Haydn collects it and on his way up he wounds his foot on something. He is very angry with Blake of course.
