A dispute arises at the beachhouse when Matt takes custody of the television set. Haydn Ross has a disastrous first day in Summer Bay.

First episode. Michael and Cynthia’s son. Came to the Bay with Michael to start life afresh. Won Sophie over Blake.
Extended Summary
Matt packs a lot of his stuff at the beach house before he will move in at Grant’s place. Adam and Matt have a few small arguments about what things belongs to whom. Adam wants to give Matt a Scrabble board game that belongs to Maz as part of the payment on Matt’s bond money! Maz won’t let him do that and Matt doesn’t want it anyway. Adam and Maz will pay Matt his bond money soon.
Carly talks to Pippa. She think Michael is interested Pippa. Pippa say that Carly is mistaken.
Michael collects Haydn (who arrives by bus to Summer Bay). They talk a bit. Haydn doesn’t seem to be impressed with Summer Bay and he doesn’t seem happy with the idea of coming here in the first place.
Carly and Pippa have a serious talk about Tom and how to get on with things in life after a partner have died (Carly was thinking in case she or Ben dies all of a sudden for some reason).
Pippa talks about Tom with Carly and how he thought about it since he and Pippa had talked about this long before he died (Tom meant that the other person shall get on with their life and eventually meet someone else when the time feels right). Pippa starts crying after a while. (Emotional music).
Sophie walks in and wonders why Pippa have been crying.
Sophie will plant a tree with help from Pippa.
Matt moves all his things out from beach house. Matt wants to take the TV set instead of the 240 dollars bond money. Adam doesn’t want him to take the TV. Adam wants to watch some sports game on television. Adam is upset. Matt takes the television set anyway and won’t take no for an answer.
Sophie and Pippa plant a tree in the Caravan Park. Michael and Haydn come by and Pippa and Soph are introduced to Haydn. Haydn seems a bit arrogant to everyone.
Michael doesn’t like Haydn’s bad attitude. He talks to Haydn about it. Haydn doesn’t seem to care about it anyway. It is obvious he don’t really want to be in Summer Bay. They argue a bit later on about Michael losing his business and thereby causing the split-up between Michael and Haydn’s mother Cynthia. They mainly broke up because of money problem.
Marilyn comes up with an idea that Adam can listen to the game on radio instead of watching it on television. Adam notices that the radio is gone too. Adam has enough and turns up at Grant’s house and watches the game with Grant and Matt and has a few beers! He sort of invited himself in Grant got no say in it…
Maz looks around for Adam. Adam is still watching the game at Grant and Matt’s place and behaves like a total slob. After a while Matt comes up with an idea to give Adam the television set back so they don’t have to have Adam hanging around all the time to watch TV at their place! That is exactly what Adam wanted so he gets the television set back and is happy as Larry. The deal is that Matt gets Marilyn’s microwave oven instead!
Haydn will enroll in Summer Bay High. Haydn is dressed in a very classy school uniform with briefcase since he was in a very fine school in the city earlier. Grant and Sophie talk about Haydn. Sophie thinks Haydn is a dork.
Fisher meets Haydn and Michael in his office. They all talk a bit. Fisher is impressed with Haydn. After a while Haydn talks arrogantly about Michael and that they are broke and that it is Michael’s fault.
At morning, Maz have made Adam a nice breakfast. Matt comes in and collects Marilyn’s microwave oven! Maz get upset of course.
Michael is very angry with Haydn and say that he is a snob etc. Michael say that Haydn better get used to life around here since he is stuck with it whether he likes it or not! (Tense music)
