Can Olivia and Hunter repair what’s left of their friendship? Ebony’s plan for revenge starts to come to fruition. Can Robbo say goodbye to the Bay?
Extended Summary
Justin has just been handed a list of instructions by Fair Trading as Tori and Ziggy turn up: It includes inadequate kitchen facilities, excessive noise level, poorly stocked first aid box and oil on the floor. Ziggy helpfully says she’s told at Tafe to clean the floor every night. Tori tells her to get started and privately asks Justin what’s wrong. Justin says he spoke to Nina on the phone and Ava’s still not coping. He also keeps running into Willow and has Ebony to worry about. At that moment, Ebony is in her motel room, looking through files on her targets. She looks up the symptoms of whiplash on her computer then puts her neck brace back on.
Robbo asks Lance if they got anything from the goons that were arrested but Lance says they were just hired muscle. They need someone on the ground, ie Robbo. Lance says the operation is all along the coast and interstate, so Robbo will be gone several weeks and could move on to another assignment after that. Robbo notes he won’t be back in Summer Bay for a while. Lance says he’ll meet him at 0600 the next morning. Later, Robbo is packing. He stops, looking around the room, then goes out.
On the headland, Mason awkwardly tells Olivia that Hunter needs space. Olivia says she was scared and Mason accepts that but says she was too full-on and needs to learn to be there for him as a friend. At the hospital, Hunter is giving Leah advice on setting up a website with comments or a vlog. Mason turns up and privately tells Hunter he spoke to Olivia but she was a bit upset. Leah comes back with Tori who says Hunter can be discharged. Hunter asks Leah to take him to the Diner. Tori reminds Mason he’s in triage: His first case is Ebony, who says her symptoms are getting worse. Mason calls Tori over. Ebony wants to see the doctor she saw before, Gupta, but he’s unavailable. Mason quietly tells Tori who Ebony is, but since no-one else is available she agrees to look at her.
Ebony gives Tori a list of symptoms including a pain that starts at the base of the skull and a lack of movement. Tori says the neck brace should help and it might be whiplash. Ebony bristles at the “might”, accusing Tori of giving a false diagnosis to protect Justin, and storms out saying she’s going to another hospital. Mason stops her, saying Tori’s a professional. Tori follows and tells Ebony she’ll arrange x-rays, Ebony can have physiotherapy once the pain’s cleared and she’ll give her painkillers for now. At the garage, Ziggy is ready to get off but Justin wants to continue on his own. He then drops a tool on his foot and Ziggy gives him one of the ice packs she’s just placed in the first aid box. He agrees they should both go.
Leah and Hunter turn up at the Diner and Irene welcomes Hunter back. Leah says she’ll get Hunter some lasagne. Olivia is somewhat stiff with Hunter, saying she got his message. Hunter tells Leah they should get takeaway. After they’ve gone, Irene chides Olivia, who explains Hunter sent Mason to tell her to give him space. Irene accuses her of punishing him. On the beach, Robbo is taking a look around. Leah and Hunter approach and thank him. Leah offers to talk Alf into giving him work at the caravan park again and Hunter suggests he work at the bait shop. Robbo says he’s still holding off on getting a job.
Mason is leaving the hospital and runs into Ebony, who says she’s been waiting around until her bus is due. She acts upset, saying her life has fallen apart: No car, no job and she can’t afford physio. Mason comforts her. Meanwhile, Olivia is on her way to the Stewart house through the caravan park and finds Hunter sat there, getting some fresh air. She apologises for being full-on at the hospital and her behaviour at the Diner but says he confuses her: Being friends is weird and avoiding each other was impossible. Despite agreeing, when Olivia says she was scared of losing him, Hunter says maybe she should: It needs to be all or nothing with them, so he’s choosing nothing. They both look upset as Olivia leaves.
Tori finds Robbo outside his flat and notes he seems to be a hero again. He tells her he’s taken the job with the feds. Tori understands he’s starting to remember that part of his life and says it’s up to him what he chooses. At Salt, Ziggy notices Justin being miserable and asks if the garage is going under. Justin says it’s not that. Ziggy guesses it’s Ava or Willow. Justin says he can’t understand why Willow would just walk away. Ziggy recalls Brody broke up with her for her family’s sake and they just wasted time. Mason comes in and tries to talk to Justin about how bad Ebony is but Justin isn’t in the mood. In her motel room, Ebony is on the phone to Hazel, saying they’ll get everything Justin owes them and more.
Next morning, Robbo meets Lance outside the Diner. Lance comments that it’s just like old times as they drive off. Meanwhile, Justin and Ziggy are opening up the garage. Justin opens a letter but quickly looks away when he sees it’s from a lawyer. Ziggy reads it for him: Ebony is suing them for $100,000, citing several counts including damage to her car, pain and stress, loss of income and medical expenses…
