X Thanks for the comments they really do mean the world x Chapter 8 – Dex, April, Ruby, Casey and baby Harvey ”Where did the time go?” Ruby spoke in between her mouthful of juice. ”It feels like yesterday we were all in year 12 and now look at us, jobs, uni but we still managed to stay together” she grinned as Casey took her hand and squeezed it gently. ”Who says teenage love doesn’t last?” ”You know when Charlie said you were a hopeless romantic all those years ago I laughed it off. Now I completely agree with her” ”Hey” Ruby pretended to be offended but Casey leant in for a kiss that left her smiling. ”I love you Rubes” Casey grinned still leaning in close. ”You’re the one” ”And you’re the one too” Ruby kissed her boyfriend once more. ”And I love you more” The pair glanced momentarily in the distance where they saw Dex and April who was pushing a pram. Dex waved idiotically whilst April wheeled the pram with one hand to slap him playfully. He rubbed his arm although he was in pain, which was comical for Ruby and Casey who turned to each other and grinned. Soon all four where face to face, the giant pram with such a small baby inside separating them. ”Bianca trusted you to take out?” Ruby gasped as she peered beside April to get a glimpse at the now 1 month Harvey lay, his blue eyes wide open, his small rosebud lips smiling and his blonde curls were becoming blonder by the day. ”No but she really needed to catch up on sleep so I offerered...she did give me a list though of things I must and must not do in order to make sure cutie here isn’t and I swear she spun this at me...distressed! As if I could distress a baby, kids love me!” ”Well if you do distress your own nephew remind me never to let you near my neice” Dex interrupted her. April got ready to protest but he kissed her suddenly on the lips. Ruby cooed into the pram as Casey came round and practically dragged her away. ”But he’s too cute!” she whinged as Casey took her hand. ”Hey you don’t have to spend night-time with him. He’s an angel to the outside world but underneath that mop of blonde curls he’s hiding a real set of devil horns. Harvey’s got more lung power than a room full of opera singers” April grinned as she stroked the side of Harvey’s face. He gurgled in response and his face flinched a little. ”But your my boy aren’t you baby!” her way of speaking changed and Harvey gurgled once more. Dex pouted. ”I thought I was your number one boy” he moaned in protest before pretending to bend down into the cot. ”It’s on kid!” Ruby and Casey giggled. ”Could you guys be any cuter” ”I don’t know I mean I do specialise in that department I guess” Dex responded to Ruby’s question. ”Rubes was saying us guys and you guys have been together for five years now” Casey replied placing an arm around Ruby’s small waist. ”Hard to believe huh?” ”Yeah very...wow” April turned to Dex. ”I’ve put up with you that long!” she laughed at the end to prove the joke and kissed him softly on the cheek. ”Hey do you guys want to do dinner tonight?” Dex spoke. ”I know we see each other all the time but still...” ”Yeah dinner would be good” Ruby and Casey spoke in unison. April seemed to pay no attention as she made silly noises into the pram. ”April?” Casey spoke as she became eye level with the four adults once more. ”Hmmm what did you say?” ”Dinner tonight. You, me, Case and Dex?” ”Perfect meet you at Brax’s say 8?” ”Yeah! I think Brax is working tonight so he could fling us some free food. The joys eh of your brother owning a restaurant and my mum enaged to him eh? Free food for us!” ”It does come in handy” Casey agreed. ”Great well we’ll see you there but we better be going. Bianca will freak if I’m not back soon” April spoke turning to Dex who placed his arm around her. ”See you later” ”Bye!” Ruby called out cheerfully to the pair as they walked into the distance. Casey glanced at her lovingly. ”Well what should we do now” she teased him by widening her eyes and biting her lips. Casey smiled kissing her on the lips. ”Well I think Brax and Charlie have gone out somewhere for the day so I guess that does mean that we have a free house” he teased her leaning in for a kiss but pulling away as she leant in. She punched him playfully. ”Keep doing that mister and the house will stay free” she warned wrapping both arms around his waist. He picked her up suddenly and spun her round, she took his hand as they raced back to the house hand in hand just as in love as they were when they first met.
