Episode 91

The next morning (Thursday), Vicki is with Cameron at Civic High waiting for the principal.
*Mr Armstrong comes out of the office*
Mr Armstrong: Vicki Adams?
Vicki: You must be Mr Armstrong. Hello. *shakes Mr Armstrong’s hand*
Mr Armstrong: Come into my office.
*Vicki and Cameron enter his office*
Mr Armstrong: I hear you want to enrol your foster son at Civic High on a temporary basis?
Vicki: Yes I do.
Mr Armstrong: What was your previous school Cameron?
*Cameron doesn’t answer*
Mr Armstrong: Cameron?
Vicki: I’m sorry Mr Armstrong. I forgot to tell you that Cameron was born deaf. His previous school was the Mainsbridge School in Liverpool. He also spent some time at the Royal Institute of Deaf and Blind Children in North Rocks.
Mr Armstrong: I see. At Civic High, we have a support unit for those with disabilities or developmental delay. I’m sure we can squeeze Cameron in. What year is he in this year?
Vicki: Year 9.
Mr Armstrong: Okay. What days are suitable for him?
Vicki: Monday, Wednesday and Friday seem like good days. Don’t you agree Cameron?
*Cameron nods*
Mr Armstrong: Then, it’s settled. You start tomorrow.
*Cameron smiles*
(Later that morning, Donna arrives to class late. She has History with Miss Mak.)
Donna: Sorry I’m late Miss. *hands Miss Mak a late pass*
Miss Mak: That’s fine Donna.
*Donna goes to sit with Toni Harris*
Donna: Hey Toni. How are you?
Toni: Whatever slag! *gets up from the seat and moves to the front row*
*Donna looks confused*
Donna: Okay then.
*Several students give Donna filthy looks*
Donna: Why is everyone looking at me like that?
Toni: Cause you’re a backstabbing bitch!
Donna: Toni? Why am I a backstabbing bitch?
*Emily Broderick stands up*
Emily: Cause you’ve been spreading lies about all of us! That’s why!
Donna: What are you talking about Emily? I haven’t done anything.
Emily: Save your breath liar!
Kiara: And to think that we were friends Donna! As of right now, we’re no longer friends!
Miss Mak: All right girls! That’s enough!
*the class bell rings*
Miss Mak: Class dismissed.
*Donna walks out of class in a hurry.*
Mareta: *coming out of her class* Wait up Donna!
*Donna just walks off*
Mareta: *to Kiara* What’s going on?
Kiara: If I were you Mareta, I’d be careful of Donna. She’s been spreading lies about us.
Mareta: Really? That’s not like her.
Kiara: Toni Harris and Emily Broderick practically tore her to shreds in History. The bitch kept denying it though.
Mareta: Oh.
*As Kiara and Mareta walk away, Natalie smirks*
Natalie: *to herself* Sucked in Donna. My plan has finally worked and there’s nothing you can do about it!

Things don’t get better for Donna during Periods 3 and 4 and by the time lunch break arrives, she cries her head off in the toilet.
*Sumara walks in and hears Donna crying*
Sumara: Is everything okay in there? *knocks on the toilet stall door where Donna is*
Donna: *sobbing* No.
Sumara: Donna?
Donna: Yeah it’s me Sumara. *opens the door*
Sumara: What’s wrong? *gives Donna a hug*
Donna: I feel like everyone in my year is turning against me. No one wanted to talk to me during P.E and I was picked last when Miss Tate organised the teams to play volleyball.
Sumara: That’s so slack.
Donna: But that’s not all. In History this morning, Toni, Emily and Kiara had a go at me because I was apparently spreading lies about the whole year group. Then in Visual Arts, John Hayes deliberately splashed yellow paint onto my artwork. Why is everyone against me now? I haven’t done anything wrong.
Sumara: I believe you Donna. You know if you want to talk to someone, you’ve always got me, Alexis and Mareta. And the rest of us who are your true friends.
*Donna wipes away her tears and manages to smile*
(Outside, Alexis is having a go at Toni and Emily.)
Alexis: IF THERE’S ANYONE THAT ARE BACKSTABBERS, YOU BITCHES MATCH THE DESCRIPTION!!!!!
Emily: EXCUSE me?!?
Alexis: YOU HEARD ME EMILY!!!!
Toni: But Donna spread lies about us!
Alexis: WHAT A LOAD OF BULLS***!!!!
*Toni and Emily storm off just as Donna and Sumara walk over to them*
Sumara: Bestie?
Alexis: I had a go at Toni and Emily for you Donna. I tried to tell them you would NEVER do anything like that, but they just wouldn’t listen.
Donna: I appreciate you trying Alexis.
Sumara: Year 10 seem to have a vendetta out against Donna. I don’t know why.
Alexis: Something tells me that Natalie and her bitchy friends have something to do with it.
Donna: What makes you think that? Sure Natalie’s a bitch, but I don’t think she’d be THAT nasty.
Alexis: If I find out it was her, she won’t want to come near me for years!
Sumara: Speaking of Natalie, she’s kept a low profile today.
Donna: Yeah. She didn’t even pick on me today. That’s really strange.
*Alexis looks suspicious*
Alexis: The bloody cow better watch her back. That’s all I’ve got to say!
Donna: I’ve got English next. Just hope it goes well.
*Alexis hugs Donna*

That afternoon, Alison and Amy arrive home from TAFE in good moods.
Amy: I feel so much better now. I’m actually thinking of having my tonsils removed.
Alison: Do doctors still remove tonsils?
Amy: They do. I might book an appointment soon.
Alison: Your throat may hurt after they take them out.
Amy: I know. But it’s worth the pain in my opinion.
Alison: I can’t believe Dina’s having her baby soon.
Amy: Me too. Shame she hasn’t told us what she’s having.
Alison: She doesn’t want to know.
Amy: That’s okay then.
*the doorbell rings*
Alison: I wonder who that could be. *goes to the door and opens it to find Alexis standing there with Angelica*
Alexis: Hello Ali.
Alison: Hey Alexis. Come on in.
*Alexis and Angelica enter the house*
Amy: Hi Alexis. Who’s your friend?
Alexis: This is Angelica Mafi. She’s a new friend of mine.
Angelica: Hi.
Alison: I’m Alison Patterson and this is my friend/roommate Amy La Porte.
Angelica: Nice to meet you both. *smiles*
Alison: So where are you from Angelica?
Angelica: I live in Casula.
Alison: Nice place.
Angelica: You been there?
Alison: Yeah. I’ve been to the mall there.
Angelica: I love Casula Mall! Shop there nearly every day.
Alexis: I’m glad that I found a shopaholic friend.
Amy: You love shopping Alexis?
Alexis: Do I ever! I might take Donna to late night with me and Sumara tonight. Did you want to come Angelica?
Angelica: I’ll have to ask my Mum.
Alexis: You’ll like Donna. It’s a shame her fellow Year 10 students aren’t respecting her anymore.
Alison: Why? What’s going on with Donna?
Alexis: Well, someone has been going around the school saying that Donna has been spreading rumours about them. I don’t believe it for a second!
Alison: Me neither! Donna’s such a nice girl!
Alexis: It has to be bloody Natalie. It just has to be.
Amy: Do you have proof?
Alexis: Not yet. But I’m sure as hell going to find out one way or another.
Alison: Try not to get into any fights. *smiles*
Alexis: I’ll try my best Ali. *smiles back*
(At Vicki’s house, things between her and Tevita are tense. They have not spoken all day.)
Tevita: Can we talk?
*Vicki ignores him and goes to the fridge*
Tevita: How long are we playing the silent treatment for Vicki?
Vicki: What’s the point of talking to you Tevita. You don’t listen to what I have to say anyway.
Tevita: Will just listen to me please?
Vicki: Tevita! Just leave me alone! *storms upstairs*
*Tevita sighs and sits next to Cameron on the couch*
Cameron: *holds up a flashcard* Are you angry at me?
Tevita: No. Why would I be angry at you buddy?
Cameron: *holds up a flashcard* Because you and Vicki are fighting.
Tevita: It’s not your fault buddy. Vicki and I are just having problems at the moment. Nothing to do with you. Okay?
*Cameron smiles and nods his head*
Tevita: That’s good. *puts his arm around Cameron*

Episode 92

At Civic High the next day (Friday), Cameron is sitting by himself at recess when Todd goes over to him.
Todd: Hey loner. How are you?
*Cameron doesn’t answer*
Todd: Not the talking type aye?
*Cameron still doesn’t answer*
Todd: I’M SPEAKING TO YOU!!! *grabs Cameron’s shirt*
*Riggot and Alex see this and go over to Todd*
Riggot: HEY!!! *pushes Todd back* Leave him alone!
Todd: I was only trying to be nice.
Alex: Yeah whatever! Like we believe you! Now get lost before we get Alexis onto you!
*Todd runs off*
Riggot: You okay man?
Cameron: *shows Riggot and Alex a note* Thanks guys. I’m Cameron.
Alex: I’m Alex and this is Riggot. *points at Riggot*
Cameron: *shows them another note* Nice to meet you.
Riggot: Likewise with you man. Don’t mean to be rude, but do you talk at all?
*Cameron shakes his head and shows them his hearing aid*
Riggot: I’m sorry.
Cameron: *shows Riggot a note* Don’t apologise man. You are cool.
Alex: Is this your first day?
*Cameron nods his head*
Alex: I wonder where Jess got off to? I want to introduce her to you Cameron.
*Cameron just smiles at him*
(Speaking of Jessica, she is in the library with Catherine.)
Jessica: So, how are things with you and Seru?
Catherine: Good Jessica. How are classes for you?
Jessica: English is starting to frustrate me.
Catherine: Why?
Jessica: Miss Viravong expects us to write a five page essay on this book that we’re reading in class.
Catherine: That sucks. Try being in the top class. The work is SO much harder!
Jessica: I bet it is.
*Donna goes over to them*
Donna: Hey girls.
Jessica: Something wrong Donna?
Donna: I’m seriously thinking of going home right now.
Catherine: Why?
Donna: Lisa had a go at me in Visual Arts because I took the paintbrush without asking! How stupid is that! Then Ella has to rub it in by smirking at me. I seriously don’t know who my friends are anymore. I really don’t.
Jessica: We’re still your friends.
Catherine: Yeah.
Donna: Thanks girls. *manages to smile*
*Alexis walks over to them*
Alexis: I just spoke to Julianna. Are they STILL giving you a hard time Donna?
Donna: Unfortunately yes.
Alexis: I just wish Natalie would stop with this bloody nonsense! She’s a manipulative cow!
Jessica: You don’t say.
Alexis: In other news, we’ve got a new boy at our school.
Catherine: Who?
Alexis: His name is Cameron. Not sure of his last name, but all I know is that he’s in Year 9 and becoming good friends with Alex and Riggot.
Jessica: Aw that’s nice. *smiles*
Alexis: It sure is. *to Donna* Come back to my place after school.
Donna: Okay. I’m heading off to the shops. See you later. *kisses Alexis on the cheek*
Alexis: Bye.
*Donna then kisses Jessica and Catherine on the cheek as well*
Donna: See you Monday. I hope.
Jessica/Catherine: Bye.
*Donna walks off*

When dismissed from TAFE that afternoon, Alison decides to talk to Vicki about her recent problems with Tevita.
Alison: Vicki, can I talk to you for a sec?
Vicki: Sure Ali. What’s up?
Alison: I’m worried about you.
Vicki: Why are you worried about me? *smiles*
Alison: I’m worried that you and Tevita are going to split up.
Vicki: What makes you think that we are going to break up?
Alison: I couldn’t help but notice that you two aren’t talking in class. It’s not just me that’s seeing it. The girls have noticed it as well.
Vicki: And?
Alison: And I don’t want you to jeopardise your relationship over Cameron. That’s all I’m saying.
Vicki: I see. Well, Tevita is acting like a child because things aren’t going his way. I’ve always wanted to be a mother Alison.
Alison: I know.
Vicki: I’m just trying to do the right thing by Suzie. I promised her I’d look after Cameron.
Alison: And you are doing a wonderful job at it too! You’ve managed to get him enrolled at school three days a week and you’ve been so supportive of him since he arrived at your house.
Vicki: I know. *smiles* I appreciate you worrying about me Ali, but Tevita and I will be all right. Thanks for being a great friend.
Alison: No worries. *smiles*
Vicki: I better go and get Cameron. Would you like a lift home?
Alison: No. I’ll go with Amy. Thanks for the offer though. *smiles*
Vicki: See you Monday. *waves at Alison*
Alison: Bye Vicki. *waves back*
(Outside the school, Cameron is walking with Riggot and Alex when Ella Chastain mocks them.)
Ella: Look at the freak trying to be popular!
Riggot: Just ignore her man. She’s a bitch.
Ella: Oh f*** you stupid head!
Riggot: What did you say?!?
Alex: Bro. Bro. Bro. *holds Riggot back* Chillax!
*Vicki goes over to them*
Vicki: Hello boys. Is something the matter?
Riggot: This bitch here was teasing Cameron and having a go at me for defending him.
Vicki: IS THAT RIGHT?!?
Ella: Do I look scared lady? No! Why don’t you find the freak a school for special needs kids? It would make your job a whole lot easier!
Vicki: You disrespectful cow! *slaps Ella*
*The boys stand there in shock as Ella holds her cheek in pain*
Ella: I’M GOING TO TELL MY MUM ON YOU!!!!
Vicki: Good! You do that and I’ll slap her for raising such a disrespectful daughter! Boys?
*The boys and Vicki walk away as Ella glares at them*

Episode 93

Side Note: It’s now August 1989.

The next day (Saturday), Cameron is in the living room watching cartoons.

*Vicki walks in*

Vicki: Cameron?

Cameron: *shows Vicki a flashcard* Yes?

Vicki: What do you want to do today?

Cameron: *shows another flashcard* I’m not too sure on that one.

Vicki: Why don’t I take you to the park? Does that sound like fun?

*Cameron nods*

Vicki: I knew you’d like that. *hears the front door knock* I’ll get the door. *walks over to the front door and opens it to find Lowana standing there*

Lowana: Hi Vicki.

Vicki: Oh hello Lowana. How nice to see you.

Lowana: I was just wondering if your little friend is busy today.

Vicki: We were just going to the park. Why what did you have planned?

Lowana: I was thinking of taking Leon and Hayley to the park as well.

Vicki: Why don’t we go together then?

Lowana: Sounds like a wonderful idea!

Vicki: What time?

Lowana: After midday?

Vicki: Sure. *smiles*

(At Donna’s house, Alison is spending time with her before Jenny and Brock come back from the airport.)

Alison: How’s school going?

Donna: I’m sick of it. If people keep giving me a hard time, I’m thinking of dropping out.

Alison: Are you sure that’s what you really want Donna?

Donna: No. I could move to the Gold Coast with my cousin Megan and do Year 10 up there. She’s been wanting me to live with her ever since she moved to Southport.

Alison: I wouldn’t let Natalie or Todd get to you. They are just a bunch of losers that bully others to make themselves look great.

Donna: Have you ever bullied anyone?

Alison: Yes I have, but I would NEVER pick on a disabled person. That’s low.

Donna: What made you change?

Alison: I lost a lot of friends and people stopped trusting me. Thankfully, I’ve managed to put that past behind me now. I know I can’t change the past, but the future is a whole new chapter.

Donna: I could always tell the principal, but then again I’d just be called a snitch.

Alison: I know. I just wish there was something I could do to help you.

Donna: You’ve helped me enough Ali. My after school netball team have been supportive as well. I’m just glad I’ve got good friends like you, Alexis, Sumara and Mareta.

Alison: I know. *smiles*

Donna: I hear your cousin is coming back from the Caribbean later today.

Alison: That’s right.

Donna: Let me know if they’ve arrived safety.

Alison: I will.

At the park, Leon and Hayley are interacting with Cameron.

Leon: You play any sports Cameron?

*Cameron nods*

Hayley: What do you play?

Cameron: *shows them a flashcard* Cricket and rugby.

Leon: Neat! *gives Cameron the thumbs up*

Hayley: I play netball. *smiles*

Cameron: *shows them another card* Good to know.

*Hayley smiles*

Leon: Babe?

Hayley: Yes?

Leon: I was thinking we should invite Cameron to the movies next weekend.

Hayley: Sounds like a plan. Don’t you agree Cameron?

*Cameron nods*

Leon: I think we’re going to be great friends with you man.

Hayley: Same with me.

*Cameron high-fives them*

(Later that day, Alison visits a returning Jenny and Brock at their house.)

Alison: How was the Caribbean?

Jenny: I loved it Ali! I didn’t want to leave.

Brock: Me neither. Glad to be home though.

Alison: I missed you guys. Say, did you bring back any souvenirs?

Jenny: No souvenirs cousin. But we did take a lot of photos.

Alison: You will have to show me.

Brock: We will. *to Jenny* Did you want to tell Alison the good news?

Alison: What’s that?

Jenny: Brock and I have decided to move to Adelaide.

*Alison looks shocked*

Alison: Why?

Jenny: We just thought that since I’m having the baby, we wanted to be closer to Brock’s parents.

Alison: I see. So does this mean I won’t see your new child?

Brock: Don’t be silly Ali. Of course you will. You can fly down to Adelaide and see the baby.

Alison: This is all so sudden. You guys come back from your Caribbean honeymoon and tell me that you’ll be moving to Adelaide? When are you leaving?

Jenny: At the end of this month.

Brock: My parents are really thrilled about this baby. They can’t wait to see her.

Alison: I’m sure Aunt Belinda is thrilled too!

Jenny: Ali…

Alison: *flatly* Good luck. *walks out of the house*

*Jenny and Brock look at each other worriedly*

Episode 94

The next day (Sunday), Alison and Amy are watching some mid-morning current affairs program on Channel Seven when the phone rings.

Alison: Can you get that please Amy?

Amy: Sure. *goes over to the phone and answers it* Hello? Oh, hello Jenny. How are you?

*Alison shakes her head at Amy*

Amy: You want to talk to Alison?

Alison: *whispering* Tell her I'm still asleep.

Amy: She's still asleep. Did you want me to pass the message on to her when she wakes up? Sure. I'll do that. Thanks Jenny. Bye. *hangs up the phone* Jenny wants you to come over to her place later this arvo.

Alison: Not gonna happen.

Amy: Did I miss something? You sounded really happy to see her and Brock return from their honeymoon yesterday.

Alison: That was before I found out they were moving to Adelaide at the end of the month.

Amy: Oh.

Alison: That's right. They're having the baby in Adelaide.

*Amy goes over to Alison and puts her arm around her*

Amy: I know it's going to be hard Ali, but you'll still see your new niece or nephew.

Alison: I know. But I'm just really angry at how they broke the news. It's like they planned it while they were on their honeymoon.

Amy: Come here.

*Alison hugs Amy*

(At Vicki's house, the tension between her and Tevita deepens.)

Tevita: Where's Cameron?

Vicki: *bitterly* And why do you care? You're the one that wants rid of him.

Tevita: Don't start Vicki. I just want to know where he is!

Vicki: If you MUST know, he's with Leon. It's about time he made some friends here in Civic.

Tevita: That's nice.

Vicki: It sure is. *rolls her eyes at Tevita before going back to fix her lunch*

Tevita: What have I done now?

Vicki: I know you don't accept Cameron living here, so just stop pretending to be all happy-chappy!

Tevita: I wasn't going to say this Vicki because I was afraid I would upset you, but it needs to be said. I think the reason you fostered Cameron was because you want to be a mother really badly.

Vicki: Excuse me?

Tevita: I said because you are unable to have children, you decided to foster Cameron.

Vicki: How dare you say that to me! The reason I fostered Cameron was because I want him to have a good education and a home to live in! WHAT DID YOU WANT ME TO DO?!? LEAVE HIM OUT IN THE COLD?!?

Tevita: No!

Vicki: YOU MUST HAVE SOME NERVE TELLING ME THAT I FOSTERED CAMERON BECAUSE I WAS UNABLE TO HAVE CHILDREN!!!

Tevita: I didn't mean it in a negative way.

Vicki: JUST SHUT UP TEVITA!!!

*Tevita walks off dejectedly, while Vicki starts to cry*

Sumara has decided to spend the day with Angelica. They are shopping at Casula Mall.

Angelica: Couldn't Alexis come?

Sumara: She's spending the day with Riggz.

Angelica: It's all good. You and Alexis are pretty close aye?

Sumara: She's like a sister to me. We've known each other since primary school.

Angelica: Alexis did tell me that.

Sumara: I just wish I had a boyfriend.

Angelica: I'm sure you'll find the man of your dreams one day.

Sumara: I had a crush on my best friend in primary school once.

Angelica: Really?

Sumara: Yes. He was really cute. Probably still is.

Angelica: When did you see him last?

Sumara: Last October when I bumped into him at Bankstown.

Angelica: Aww.

Sumara: Oh Angelica! *playfully hits her on the shoulder*

Angelica: What's his name?

Sumara: Bryce.

Angelica: Too cute. *smiles*

Sumara: Shall we go to Kmart? I need a new pair of sneakers.

Angelica: Sure. I need a new pair of sneakers myself and I hear Kmart have them really cheap.

Sumara: They sure do.

*Angelica smiles as they walk into Kmart*

(At Melissa's house, she helping Dina get rid of some old clothes that are unusable or don't fit them anymore.)

Dina: Hope Nina comes back soon.

Melissa: She said she wouldn't be long. I mean it doesn't take long to get milk.

Dina: I know.

Melissa: Oh darn! I forgot to get another garbage bag!

Dina: I'll get it for you Mel.

Melissa: Thanks Dina. It's downstairs in the kitchen.

Dina: Okay. *walks out of the room*

*As Melissa goes through her clothes, she hears Dina screaming*

Melissa: Dina? *runs out of the room and sees Dina on the floor clutching her stomach*

Dina: I fell down the stairs. I think I've hurt my baby.

*Melissa helps Dina up*

Melissa: Are you okay?

Dina: I'm hurt. Just hope I haven't harmed my baby.

Melissa: I'm taking you to the hospital. I'll phone Nina and let her know.

Dina: Thanks. Ow! *clutches her stomach again*

*Melissa helps Dina out of the house*

Episode 95

At St Vincent's Hospital, Dina is being examined by the doctor as Nina and Melissa anxiously wait.

Doctor: Apart from slight bruising, there seems to be no harm done to your unborn baby.

Dina: *sighs* I'm so relieved.

Doctor: How did you fall Miss Caliente?

Dina: I fell down the stairs.

Doctor: You’re very lucky you landed on your side. If you landed on your stomach, who know what would’ve happened.

Dina: Thank god my unborn baby is okay.

Nina: It sure is. *smiles*

Melissa: We’ll help look after you.

Dina: Thanks. I appreciate it. *to the doctor* Can I go home and rest?

Doctor: Sure. Make sure you take it easy. No heavy lifting. And remember to take things slowly.

Dina: Will do doctor. *smiles*

Nina: Come on sis.

*Nina and Melissa slowly help Dina out of the room*

(Over at Alison’s house, the phone rings. Amy answers it.)

Amy: Hello? Hey Jenny. Alison’s still not back from the shops. I’ll let her know you called. Bye. *hangs up*

*Alison is in the kitchen making herself and Amy some strawberry milkshakes*

Amy: *walking into the kitchen* Why don’t you just call your cousin and talk to her?

Alison: Got nothing to say to her.

Amy: What IS going on with you two?

Alison: Nothing. Her and Brock made their choice to move to Adelaide.

Amy: They haven’t even left yet.

Alison: My point exactly.

Amy: Maybe you should try and talk to them.

Alison: They won’t listen.

Amy: Give it a try.

Alison: I guess you’re right Amy. I’ll do it after TAFE tomorrow.

Amy: Good. *smiles*

At Civic High the next day (Monday), Natalie approaches Mareta near the English block.

Natalie: Hey bitch face.

Mareta: What do YOU want?

Natalie: I got a proposition for you.

Mareta: I’m not interested. *goes to walk off, but is grabbed by Natalie*

Natalie: I want you to listen to my proposition!

Mareta: All right. Spill the beans!

Natalie: I want to get back at Derelict Donna.

Mareta: Sorry. Donna’s my best friend and I’m always loyal to her. So you can take your proposition and shove it! *walks off*

Natalie: *muttering* Oh, I will end that friendship. TRUST me!

(Elsewhere in the school, Donna is talking to Kiara.)

Kiara: Look, I’m sorry.

Donna: Just go away!

Kiara: I didn’t mean to accuse you of backstabbing us.

Donna: Sure you did.

Kiara: I want us to be friends again.

Donna: P*** OFF!!!

*Kiara walks off sadly as Mareta approaches her*

Mareta: Can you believe Natalie? She’s such a bitch!

Donna: Tell me about it.

Mareta: Let’s go to class. The bell has gone.

Donna: Yeah let’s.

*As Mareta walks off to class, her gold compact mirror drops without her noticing. Natalie sees this and takes it.*

Natalie: *to herself* Gotcha Donna. *smirks*

When Alison finishes TAFE that afternoon, she sees Jenny and Brock walk towards her.

Jenny: Ali!

*Alison hastily walks back into the building*

Jenny: Ali?

*Jenny and Brock head into the building and look for Alison*

Brock: Ali!

Jenny: Where are you Ali? We need to talk.

*After a few minutes of searching, Jenny and Brock give up and leave. Alison comes out of the ladies room just as Sylvia approaches her*

Sylvia: Alison? Is everything okay?

Alison: Yeah. Everything is fine. *smiles*

Sylvia: Are you sure?

Alison: Of course. Now, did you want to go to Old Vienna and have coffee with the girls?

Sylvia: I’d love to.

Alison: Then let’s go.

*Sylvia and Alison leave to meet up with Vicki, Melissa, Amy and Kat at Old Vienna.*

(Meanwhile, Mareta is walking home from school with Riggot when she discovers that her gold compact mirror is missing.)

Mareta: Oh no!

Riggot: What?

Mareta: My gold compact mirror is missing.

Riggot: Did you drop it at school?

Mareta: No. I’m sure I didn’t drop it.

Riggot: Don’t worry. I’m sure we’ll find it.

Mareta: I hope so. Because that mirror belongs to Mum and I don’t want to see her reaction when she finds out I lost it. *looks sad*
