Episode 76

Later that afternoon, Vicki goes over to Julie Ann’s house to speak to Lowana.

*Vicki rings the doorbell. Julie Ann opens the door*

Julie Ann: May I help you?

Vicki: Hi. Is Lowana home? I would like to speak to her.

Julie Ann: Who are you?

Vicki: I’m Vicki Adams. I’m a friend of Alison’s.

Julie Ann: *calls out* LOWANA!! YOU’VE GOT A VISITOR!!

*Lowana walks to the front door and sees Vicki*

Lowana: Hello. I don’t know who you are I’m sorry.

Vicki: Vicki Adams. I’m a friend of Alison Patterson. You might know her.

Lowana: Get out!

Vicki: I didn’t mean to insult you Lowana.

Lowana: No, I didn’t mean get out as in leave. I meant as in you’re joking.

Vicki: Well, Ali tells me that you have done some mean things to people.

Lowana: Did she tell you that?

Vicki: Not in so many words. But she did tell me about the problems you have with Leon’s girlfriend.

Lowana: Look, if you are here to lecture me just say what you need to say.

Vicki: I’m actually here to make friends.

Lowana: You are? None of your friends like me!

Vicki: That’s not true. They’re just upset because of what you are doing.

Lowana: They don’t care.

Vicki: I was in a similar position like you once. *enters the house*

Lowana: This better be good. Why don’t you sit down while I gets us a drink?

*Vicki sits down on the sofa as Lowana leaves to get the drinks*

Meanwhile, Jenny and Brock are going through their wedding plans.

Jenny: Are you sure we have everything for Saturday?

Brock: I think we do.

Jenny: I just realised! We haven’t even booked the plane tickets for Hawaii!

Brock: We didn’t? You should’ve booked them two days ago like I did. *smiles*

Jenny: You are such a lifesaver! Thank you! *kisses Brock on the lips* This is going to be the best wedding ever.

Brock: Only four more days until our big day.

*The phone rings*

Jenny: I’ll get that. *picks up the phone* Hello? Oh, hi Mum. How are you? Slow down and tell me what happened. I see. How did it happen? Oh, Mum! I’ll come visit you tonight. Make a speedy recovery. Okay? I love you. Bye. *hangs up the phone*

Brock: Everything okay?

Jenny: That was Mum. She’s in hospital.

Brock: Why? What happened?

Jenny: She took a nasty fall and fractured her arm pretty badly. I’m going to visit her at the hospital tonight.

Brock: I’ll come with you.

Jenny: I really don’t want you to miss out on work.

Brock: I want to be there with you. I’m not taking no for an answer.

Jenny: All right then. *hugs Brock* You are so sweet.

Back at Julie Ann’s house, Lowana and Vicki are continuing to talk.

Vicki: *laughs* So, you actually called your Science teacher a pervert?

Lowana: Hell yeah! He was looking down my shirt so I called him a pervert. *laughs* He did the same thing to Kristen Harwell in Year 10 and she slapped him.

Vicki: Kristen Harwell? Doesn’t she work with Mareta at the donut shop?

Lowana: Yeah. She went to primary school with me and Julie Ann. Always been a party girl that one.

Vicki: Does she still live in Civic?

Lowana: She just moved back last week. Before that, she lived in Balmain.

Vicki: Why is she a party girl?

Lowana: She’s always out on the social scene. Whether it’s a nightclub or doing late night shopping on Thursday’s, Kristen is sure to be there.

Vicki: Do you go out much?

Lowana: I haven’t been to a nightclub since I started uni back in ‘86.

Vicki: What did you do at uni?

Lowana: I did my Bachelor of Teaching. I’m thinking of becoming a high school teacher.

Vicki: Sounds pretty good. I dropped out at 17 because of what I did to my father.

Lowana: You’re doing Year 12 again at TAFE.

Vicki: I know. At least I got a job at Grace Bros.

Lowana: I hope you still talk to your siblings.

Vicki: Karen and I were always close. Were you and Leon ever close?

Lowana: We used to be so close before I left to go to uni. He hates me now and I don’t blame him for it.

Vicki: Why do you hate his girlfriend so much?

Lowana: I guess I should explain. In Year 9, I was going out with this guy named Christian and we were pretty serious with our relationship. Then one day, I find out that he was having an affair with some blonde bimbo who looked exactly like Hayley. I was devastated because I thought that me and Christian would be together forever. And I find out later, that the blonde girl was 15.

Vicki: Do Leon and your parents know about this?

Lowana: Mum and Dad know. I never told Leon about it. It still doesn’t change my feelings about Hayley though.

Vicki: I’m sure he’ll understand Lowana.

Lowana: Thank you for coming over. *hugs Vicki*

Vicki: You’re welcome.

At Hayley’s house, she is reading a magazine when the doorbell rings.

*Hayley opens the door to find Alison standing there*

Hayley: Ali! Come on in. I was going to call you.

Alison: *enters the house* Did I come at a bad time?

Hayley: No, I was just reading. How was TAFE?

Alison: It was okay. I’m a bit concerned about you though.

Hayley: Why do you ask?

Alison: Catherine told me that you and Leon had a huge fight after school.

Hayley: We did. I bet that bitch is gloating about it!

Alison: Lowana?

Hayley: That’s right. I nearly got into a fight with Natalie too because of her gloating.

Alison: You and Leon need to sit down and talk about your problems.

Hayley: I don’t want to. I never thought he would hurt me like this Ali. He was sweet, caring, thoughtful and fun-loving.

Alison: He’s still all those things.

Hayley: To me, he’s a jerk!

Alison: You’ve got a great group of friends that care about you Hayley. Don’t ever forget that.

Hayley: I won’t. Thanks Ali.

Alison: No problem.

*Hayley picks up the phone and dials Leon’s number*

Hayley: *to herself* Pick up, pick up, pick up. Hi Leon, I really need to talk to you. Call me when you get this message. Bye. *hangs up the phone*

Alison: That was quick.

Hayley: I got the answering machine.

Alison: He’ll call back. Don’t worry.

Hayley: I sure hope so. *smiles*

Over at Alexis’s house, her and Debbie are dancing to Whitney Houston‘s “I Wanna Dance with Somebody”.

Alexis: Cool music!

Debbie: Whitney Houston is the best when it comes to great music!

Alexis: Yeah baby!

*When the song ends, Alexis turns off the stereo.*

Alexis: Are you still coming to late night on Thursday with me, Sumara, Madison and Catherine?

Debbie: Yeah, I am. Isn’t Hayley coming with you?

Alexis: She’s still depressed about Leon. The poor thing. If I ever see that wretched Lowana again…

Debbie: You kill her. I get it.

Alexis: What can we do this weekend?

Debbie: I have an excellent idea. *shows Alexis a ticket*

Alexis: OMG! You got us tickets to see Kate Ceberano this Saturday night at the Entertainment Centre.

Debbie: And on Sunday, I was thinking we could go on a ferry ride to Taronga Zoo.

Alexis: Thanks bestie. *hugs Debbie*

Debbie: You’ve got some amazing friends.

Alexis: They were so welcoming when I first arrived at Civic High. But I always thought of you and the girls.

Debbie: To be honest, I don’t hang out with Kate, Sarah and Martha much anymore.

Alexis: Why not?

Debbie: We just drifted apart.

Alexis: That’s so sad.

Debbie: I know.

Alexis: I want to make sure that we make the most of our friendship. *smiles*

Debbie: So do I. *smiles back*

Meanwhile, Leon is walking home from rugby training when he notices Tyson standing near a power pole.

Leon: Hey Tyson? *walks over to him*

*Tyson just ignores him*

Leon: Listen bro, I just want to say that I’m really sorry for the s**t that went down between us. I know now that Natalie and my sister were behind it all. How about we shake hands and practice our footy skills. What do you say?

Tyson: What do I say? Here’s your answer. *punches Leon in the face*

*As a result of the punch, Leon’s nose is bloodied.*

Tyson: STICK YOUR FOOTY SKILLS UP A COW’S BEHIND! *storms off*

*A horrified Leon covers his bloodied nose with a tissue*

Episode 77

That night, Leon is holding his bloodied nose as his mother wipes off the blood.

Mrs Longbottom: How did you get a bloody nose?

Leon: *lying* Alex accidentally threw the football onto my nose as I went to catch it.

Mrs Longbottom: As long as it was an accident. How’s your nose now?

Leon: Still painful. But I’ll live. *smiles*

Mrs Longbottom: You’ve always been brave. By the way, Hayley called while you were at practice.

Leon: What did she want?

Mrs Longbottom: She wants to talk to you.

Leon: Call her back and tell her I’m not speaking to her.

Mrs Longbottom: Just a few weeks ago, the two of you couldn’t keep your hands off each other. You really shouldn’t let your relationship deteriorate because of what Lowana did.

Leon: I hate her. She’s a perfect candidate for the “Sister of the Year” award.

Mrs Longbottom: I think you should talk to Hayley and sort your problems out.

Leon: She’s not the only one. Me and Tyson have to as well.

Mrs Longbottom: Everything will be fine. Trust me.

*The doorbell rings*

Mrs Longbottom: I’ll get that. *walks to the front door and opens it to find Jessica standing there* Hello, Jessica.

Jessica: Hi, Mrs Longbottom. Is Leon home?

Mrs Longbottom: He most certainly is. *walk back into the living room followed by Jessica* Leon, Jessica’s here. I’ll leave you two to chat. *walks into the kitchen*

Leon: Hey Jess. What brings you here? *gives Jessica a hug*

Jessica: I just thought I’d come over and say hi. *notices Leon’s nose* Hey, what happened to your nose?

Leon: Tyson punched it as I was trying to say sorry. I told Mum that Alex accidentally threw the football onto my nose as I went to catch it.

Jessica: That’s no good. You coming to school tomorrow?

Leon: Maybe. How about you?

Jessica: Of course I am.

Leon: I just wish things were perfect.

Jessica: I’m sure everything will be okay.

Leon: You think so?

Jessica: I know it.

Leon: Thanks Jess. You’re such a great friend.

Jessica: No problem

*they hug*

The next morning (Wednesday), the Year 8 girls are out in the quad talking about girl stuff.

Sumara: *to Nicola* I saw this really cute kitten at the pet store and I wanted it badly. Turns out it cost $520.

Nicola: $520 for one kitten?!? You’ve got to be joking Sumara!

Madison: My dog didn’t even cost that much! What did your parents have to say to that?

Sumara: One guess.

Nicola/Madison: NO!

Sumara: That’s right.

Hayley: I don’t blame them. $520 is too expensive for a kitten. There’s a lady next door to me and she’s giving away some kittens. She only wants $30 for each one you buy.

Sumara: I think I might go round and see her this afternoon after school.

Hayley: If you want, I’ll help you pick one.

Sumara: That will be great. *smiles*

*Alexis walks over to them*

Alexis: Hello ladies. *kisses Hayley, Sumara, Madison and Nicola on the cheek* How are we all this morning?

Nicola: You’re in a good mood.

Alexis: Tonight, I’m going out to dinner with Riggot, then tomorrow us girls are going late night shopping, then on Friday I’m going to a party, then on Saturday me and Debbie are going to see Kate Ceberano at the Entertainment Centre and then on Sunday we are going on a ferry ride to Taronga Zoo.

Madison: Sounds like the rest of the week is pretty busy for you.

Alexis: It sure is.

Sumara: Who’s party are you going to?

Alexis: You know Stacey Marshall?

Sumara: Yeah, we met her at late night last week.

Alexis: Well, she invited me to come to her party on Friday night.

Sumara: We didn’t get an invite.

Alexis: For some reason, she only invited me. But the only trouble is, Mum’s going to chuck a mental if she finds out I’m going to this party.

Nicola: How come?

Alexis: It’s at The Entrance.

Hayley: You’re going all the way to the Central Coast just so you can party?

Alexis: Why not? All I need is a plan.

Hayley: Leave me out of it.

Sumara: Me too.

Nicola: Same goes for me.

Alexis: Maddie?

Madison: I’ll cover for you sis. I’m good at lying. What do you want me to say?

Alexis: If Mum asks, tell her that I spent the night with you.

Madison: Sure. *smiles*

Over at the back oval, the Year 8 boys are hanging out and listening to music.

Riggot: How long before the bell?

Seru: We’ve got 10 minutes until roll call.

Leon: Great.

*Tyson walks over to the group*

Riggot/Seru: Sup!

Tyson: Leon?

Leon: Buzz off.

Seru: We’ll leave you guys to it.

Riggot: Yeah.

*they walk off*

Tyson: Listen man…

Leon: *puts his fingers in his ears* Blah! Blah! Blah! Blah! Blah! Blah! Blah!

Tyson: Don’t be like that! I just want to say sorry for punching you in the face.

*Leon uncovers his ears*

Leon: And?

Tyson: I’m sorry okay. I’m really, really sorry.

Leon: Sorry doesn’t cut it bro! I tried to be the bigger man and make peace, but you just got angry!

Tyson: I said I’m sorry what more do you want?

Leon: You know? You’re nothing but an ignorant, dumb dog! *shoves Tyson*

Tyson: Don’t PUSH ME! *shoves Leon back*

*they continue to shove each other until Miss Owens breaks them up*

Miss Owens: You two, report to my classroom now!

*they walk to Miss Owens’s classroom*

At recess, Donna approaches Leon near the back oval.

Donna: What did Owens want with you and Tyson?

Leon: She wanted to know why we were fighting.

Donna: Did you tell her why?

Leon: No. It’s none of her business, D.M.

Donna: She’s there to help the students. That’s her job.

*Donna sees Hayley standing near the boys toilet block*

Donna: You miss her don’t you?

Leon: Who? *turns around and looks at Hayley* Yeah, I do miss her.

Donna: Talk things out with her. I’m sure she misses you as well.

Leon: I’ll try. Thanks D.M. *hugs Donna*

Donna: No problem. I better go see what Mareta’s doing. Good luck. *walks away*

*Leon walks over to where Hayley is standing*

Leon: Hey there.

Hayley: Hi.

Leon: I think it’s time we sorted out our problem.

Hayley: Not now. How about after school? Mum’s working and I’ve got the house to myself.

Leon: Sure. I’d like that. *smiles*

Hayley: I’ll see you then. *walks off*

Meanwhile, Sylvia and Wayne are at Pizza Hut having lunch. They are reminiscing the past.

Sylvia: I dropped out of school when I was 17. What a great success story I am!

Wayne: Well, I left school when I was 15. So, you’re not alone Sylvia. At least you’re doing Year 12 at TAFE.

Sylvia: Great friends I’ve got. Why did you leave school?

Wayne: Gloria was pregnant with Andrew.

*Sylvia looks shocked*

Sylvia: No way!

Wayne: Uh huh. Why did you leave?

Sylvia: My father was dying. I ended up leaving school in March because I couldn’t cope with the pressure.

Wayne: I’m sorry to hear that. My father and I don’t exactly have a great relationship. He’s a control freak.

Sylvia: Why didn’t he let you come live with Mum?

Wayne: I wasn’t allowed. I lived with him until he threw me out for getting Gloria pregnant.

Sylvia: At least you’re happy with her and the kids. I could kill for a baby.

Wayne: One day little sister. You’ve just got to be patient. *smiles*

*Sylvia smiles back*

*As they finish eating, Lowana approaches them*

Lowana: Hi Sylvia. How’s it going?

Sylvia: Lowana. *to Wayne* I’ll pay the bill. *walks away*

Lowana: So you’re the long lost brother?

Wayne: Yes. And you are?

Lowana: Lowana - an old school friend of Sylvia’s.

Wayne: You go to TAFE with her?

Lowana: No, she went to Civic High with me.

Wayne: I think you’re gorgeous.

Lowana: Why, thank you. *smiles*

Wayne: You single?

Lowana: Yes. *winks*

*Sylvia comes back*

Sylvia: You ready to go Wayne?

Wayne: Yes. Well, Lowana it was great meeting you. *shakes her hand*

Lowana: Bye Wayne. *smiles*

*Sylvia and Wayne leave the restaurant*

Lowana: *thinking to herself* He’s quite attractive. I should ask him out.

At TAFE, Alison’s class has finished early so she decides to go to Darling Harbour and see Kat’s grandmother at the cake store.

*Alison enters the store*

Alison: Sheila?

*Sheila comes out of the store kitchen*

Sheila: Hi Alison. You’re not rostered to work today.

Alison: I want to talk to you about that. I’ve decided to resign.

Sheila: How come? You are the best when it comes to icing the cake.

Alison: I’ve just got a lot on my plate at the moment. My cousin’s wedding, re-doing my HSC at TAFE and my mother’s pregnancy. I just need to have a break from part-time working.

Sheila: I respect your decision Alison. If ever you want to come back, I’ll rehire you.

Alison: Thanks Sheila. *smiles before leaving the store*

*Once outside, Alison goes to catch the bus back to Civic when she bumps into Alexis*

Alison: Alexis, hi!

Alexis: Hi Ali.

Alison: Aren’t you meant to be at school?

Alexis: I finished early.

Alison: *checks her watch* It’s 1:45pm. Are you sure you finished early?

Alexis: Why aren’t you at TAFE?

Alison: I finished early.

Alexis: Really?

Alison: Yes, Lolly was feeling sick so she sent us home. Meeting Debbie again?

Alexis: Actually, I’m here to buy something for Riggz.

Alison: That’s nice. Well, I’m off. *starts walking* Oh, Alexis?

Alexis: Yes?

Alison: Keep out of trouble. *smiles before walking off*

*Alexis smiles back*

After school that afternoon, Leon goes over to Hayley’s house so they can sort things out.

*he knocks on the front door*

Leon: *to himself* Come on Hayley. Please be there.

*Hayley walks up behind him*

Hayley: Hi Leon.

*Leon jumps up*

Leon: Hey there girl. I thought you were in the house.

Hayley: Come inside. *they go in the house*

*They sit on the sofa in the living room*

Hayley: You want to start?

Leon: Sure. *takes a quick breath* When you confronted me about me having it on with Natalie, I was really hurt. I would never ever cheat on you. Who did you hear that from?

Hayley: Her and Ella were boasting about it.

Leon: I see.

Hayley: When you stormed over to my house and showed me the photo of me and Tyson that your sister and Natalie tampered with and accused me of having it off with him, you might as well have pushed me in front of a bus. What really hurt was that you called me a trollop.

Leon: I didn’t know at the time that Lowana and Natalie were behind it.

Hayley: You still hurt my feelings. And I hurt yours too so that doesn’t make it right.

Leon: So, where do we go from here? *tries hard not too cry*

Hayley: *turns her back to him and tries not to cry herself* I don’t know. I guess we weren’t meant to be together.

Leon: We had a great relationship. I will NOT let Lowana win this one!

Hayley: It’s too late Leon. She’s won.

Leon: I guess I should leave. *gets up from the couch and starts to walk out*

Hayley: Leon wait!

*Leon stops walking and faces Hayley*

Leon: Yes?

*Hayley kisses him*

Hayley: I’m so sorry. *starts to cry*

Leon: No, I’m sorry. *fights back his tears*

*they kiss again*

Leon: I want us to be together forever. Who needs my sister to meddle in our relationship?

*Hayley smiles at him before they kiss yet again*

Meanwhile, Lowana is making her bed when the phone rings.

*Lowana answers the phone*

Lowana: Hello.

Caller: Feeling happy that you ruined your brother’s life?

Lowana: LOOK! WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME?!?

Caller: I want you to leave the city and never come back! YOU GOT THAT BITCH?!?

Lowana: Who the hell do you think you are threatening me?!? IF I FIND OUT WHO YOU ARE, I’LL BEAT YOU UP!!!

*the caller hangs up*

Lowana: I know it’s you Hayley. I just know it’s you!

Episode 78

That night, Riggot and Alexis are on their date. They are at a restaurant called Zia Pina.

Alexis: This looks nice.

Riggot: Yeah. *notices several people staring at him and Alexis* Why are those people staring at us?

Alexis: *loudly* Well some people are just nosy!

*the people who started at them immediately return to their business*

Riggot: Did you have to be so loud?

Alexis: I wanted to get their attention.

*A waiter comes to their table with the menu*

Waiter: May I help you?

Alexis: I would like the spaghetti bolognaise.

Riggot: And I’ll have the lasagne.

Waiter: Should be ready in 20 minutes.

*Half an hour passes and the food still isn’t served*

Alexis: What’s taking so long?

Riggot: I don’t know.

*The waiter comes out of the kitchen*

Alexis: Is our food ready yet?

Waiter: Should be 10 more minutes.

*15 minutes later, the food still hasn’t arrived.*

Riggot: The restaurant is barely full and the food is still taking long!

Alexis: I wish they would hurry up!

*They hear a waitress arguing with a woman about the dessert she ordered*

Waitress: I’m sorry but we don’t serve mud cake.

Woman: Yes you do. It says it right here on the dessert menu *points to the dessert menu*

Waitress: We have none left. I’m sorry.

Woman: I ordered one about an hour ago!

Waitress: Well, I’m sorry but we have no mud cake left. Now, I would advise you to leave this restaurant before I call security.

*Alexis looks furious*

Alexis: Excuse me Riggz. I’m going to tear this waitress a new one! *walks over to the woman’s table* Are you all right lady?

Woman: I’m fine dear.

Alexis: *to the waitress* This woman ordered a mud cake an hour ago! And you tell her now that there’s none left?

Waitress: Uh…yes.

Alexis: *shouting* What you should’ve done is give this woman her mud cake WHEN she ordered it and maybe then she would be happy!

Waitress: Can you lower your voice Miss? The restaurant doesn’t need to hear you shouting.

Alexis: I can shout whenever I like. And I won’t stand for some trampy waitress bullying a customer!

Waitress: How old are you? 5?

Alexis: As a matter a fact, I’m nearly 14. Half your age!

Waitress: I will not be spoken to like that! This woman is not getting her mud cake and that’s final!

Alexis: Is that right?

Waitress: Yes.

*Alexis storms into the kitchen and returns a few minutes later with a piece of mud cake*

Alexis: Here you go lady. Your mud cake has arrived.

Woman: Thank you dear.

*Alexis then glares at the waitress*

Alexis: As they say, “The customer is always right.” *walks back to her table as the waitress looks furious*

Riggot: The food has arrived sugar.

Alexis: Oh good. *takes one bite out of her spaghetti bolognaise and spits it into a serviette.* This is stone cold. Try yours Riggz.

*Riggot takes a bite out of his lasagne and spits his out as well*

Riggot: Mine’s also cold!

Alexis: WAITER!!!!

*The waiter runs over to their table*

Waiter: Yes signorina.

Alexis: Our food is stone cold. Did you cook it properly?

Waiter: Yes, we did.

Riggot: Then take a bite.

*The waiter takes a bite out of both meals*

Waiter: Sorry about that. It will be another hour before they are cooked.

Alexis: We now know never to come back here again. Come on Riggz. We’re out of here.

Waitress: *sarcastically* Mind the stairs while you’re at it.

*Alexis grabs the plate of lasagne and smashes it into the waitress’s face*

Waitress: You self-centred pig!

Alexis: Takes one to know one. *leaves the restaurant with Riggot*

*Once outside, Alexis walks quite fast and then breaks down in tears*

Alexis: Our first date is a disaster!

Riggot: Hey, hey. Come here. *puts his arms around Alexis* It’s not a disaster. In fact, I’m having fun.

Alexis: *wipes away her tears* You are?

Riggot: Of course. Want to go to Cold Rock?

Alexis: Yeah. I do feel like some ice-cream after that horrible dinner service.

*They smile and then kiss passionately*

The next morning (Thursday), Alison wakes up early and hears the phone ringing.

*Alison goes over to the phone and picks it up*

Alison: Hello?

Vicki: Alison. It’s Vicki. Can I come to your place? I need to tell you something really important.

Alison: Tell me at TAFE.

Vicki: There’s no TAFE for us today. Lolly’s still sick and she couldn’t find a replacement teacher for us.

Alison: Come right away. I’ll see you soon. *hangs up the phone*

*Amy comes downstairs*

Amy: Who was that?

Alison: Vicki. She wants to tell me something urgent.

Amy: I just hope it isn’t her mother.

Alison: I’m sure it isn’t Amy.

*A few minutes later, Vicki arrives at Alison’s house*

Vicki: Hi.

Alison: Hi Vicki. What do want to tell me?

Vicki: This. *hands Alison a pamphlet*

*Alison reads the pamphlet*

Alison: The Royal Institute of Deaf and Blind Children. Do you want to teach there or something?

Vicki: No, no. I know one of the kids that go there.

Alison: Really?

Vicki: Yes. When I was living in Liverpool, I lived across the street from Suzie Llewellyn and she had a son that was deaf.

Alison: How old is he?

Vicki: He just turned 14.

*Alison nods her head*

Vicki: Then last night, I got a phone call from Suzie saying that she needed a break and she asked me if I could take care of him. I have to take him to my house this afternoon.

Alison: Can I come with you? I want to experience what deaf and blind people have to go through every day.

Vicki: Of course you can.

Alison: By the way, what’s his name?

Vicki: Cameron. He’s a really nice person.

Alison: Coffee?

Vicki: Please. *they go into the kitchen*

At Civic High, Natalie and Todd are smoking behind the Science block.

Natalie: I’m so glad I got kicked out of Maths. Miss Saenz annoys me.

Todd: I know. What are we going to do about that bitch Alexis?

Natalie: Don’t worry about her. She’s just crazy.

Todd: So, did you end up prank calling Longbottom’s sister?

Natalie: Yeah, I did. I know I helped her break him and Hayley up, I just wanted to stir the pot. *laughs as she puffs out some smoke*

Todd: You’re so nasty. *smiles*

*As Natalie and Todd continue to smoke, Donna walks over to where they are standing and hides behind a wall*

Todd: I wonder if you made her crazy?

Natalie: Lowana is probably shaking in her boots right now. *laughs*

*the bell rings for recess*

Natalie: About time! Let’s go to the canteen.

Todd: Yeah. I could go for a feed.

*they walk off*

Donna: *to herself* Gotcha.

*Mareta and Julianna approach her*

Mareta: Who are you saying that to Donna?

Donna: I just found out something very interesting.

Julianna: Do tell.

Donna: I will. But first, I have to find Leon.

*The girls find Leon near the basketball courts with Hayley*

Donna: Leon, I HAVE to talk to you.

Leon: Is there something wrong D.M?

Donna: I just found out who’s been making those mysterious phone calls about your sister.

Leon: What mysterious phone calls?

Julianna: You mean you don’t know?

Hayley: I think I know what you are talking about. *to Leon* Someone has been threatening Lowana over the phone.

Leon: WHAT?!?

Mareta: It’s true.

Leon: Who did it?

Donna: Natalie Evans aka Anaconda Queen.

Leon: That little bitch…

Hayley: And she helped Lowana break us up? What a backstabbing bitch!

Donna: I’m sorry to come off as a snitch, but I thought it was…

Leon: No, no, no. Thanks for telling me D.M. *hugs her*

Hayley: Natalie is going down. Thanks Donna.

During last period, Leon and Hayley leave their HSIE class early so they can talk to Lowana. Donna has come with them and they catch the bus to Lilyfield.

*They arrive at Julie Ann’s house and knock on the door. Lowana opens it*

Lowana: What are you doing here?

Leon: I want to talk to you.

Lowana: Do you now? *looks at Donna* And who are you?

Donna: Donna Maynard. I’m one of Leon and Hayley’s friends.

Lowana: Come in. *to Leon and Hayley* As for you two, OUT!

Hayley: We haven’t done anything but just stand there!

Lowana: I don’t care about that! *to Leon* You disowned me remember!

Leon: It was the only way I could stop you from trying to sabotage my relationship with Hayley.

Lowana: Do you know how much that hurt my feelings? Do you even care at all? Because I know I hurt your feelings and I’ve tried to apologise over the phone, but you never answer!

Hayley: You hurt us even more by doing what you and Natalie did.

Donna: Come on guys. Let’s not fight.

Leon: Come on Lowana. You’re my sister. I may not like you at times, but I will always love you.

Lowana: You disowned me Leon. Live with it. *goes back inside with Donna slams the door*

*Leon looks really sad*

Hayley: Oh bubby. *hugs him tight*

*In the house, Lowana and Donna sit on the sofa*

Lowana: What do you want to talk about?

Donna: You know those mysterious phone calls you’ve been getting?

Lowana: Yes. I got another one this morning saying that I was better off an orphan.

Donna: I know who’s been doing them?

Lowana: Who?

Donna: The girl that helped you break Leon and Hayley up - Natalie Evans.

Lowana: Are you sure?

Donna: Positive. I heard her boasting about it to Todd this morning.

Lowana: That bitch. Thanks for telling me Donna. I do appreciate it.

Donna: You going to confront her?

Lowana: No. I’ll leave that to Miss Alexis Thorpe. *smiles*

Later that afternoon, Alison and Vicki go to the Royal Institute of Deaf and Blind Children to find Cameron.

Vicki: Just look at this place. The doors have Braille on them.

Alison: It’s for the blind people to help them know which door is which. By the way, is Cameron blind?

Vicki: No. He’s only deaf.

*The head nurse, Mrs Taft approaches the women*

Mrs Taft: May I help you?

Vicki: Yes. We’re looking for Cameron Llewellyn. I’m supposed to be looking after him while his mother is on holidays.

Mrs Taft: I’ll get him for you. *leaves to go find him*

Alison: Have you spoken to Tevita about Cameron staying?

Vicki: No. Why do ask? He doesn’t live with me.

Alison: Just wondering.

*Cameron walks to towards them*

Cameron: *holds up a flashcard* Hi Vicki. How are you?

Vicki: I’m doing great buddy. *goes over to Cameron and hugs him*

*Cameron points at Alison*

Vicki: This is my friend Alison Patterson.

Cameron: *holds up a flashcard* May I hug you?

Alison: Of course. *hugs Cameron tightly*

Meanwhile at her house, Melissa is going through some old paperwork when she finds an adoption certificate.

Melissa: What’s this? *reads the adoption certificate* This is to certify that Melissa Anne has been formally adopted into the Powell family by Essie.

*Dina enters the house*

Dina: I’m back. Who would’ve thought Woolworths would be packed in the middle of the afternoon.

*Melissa looks shocked*

Dina: Mel?

Melissa: Read this certificate. *hands Dina the adoption certificate*

*Dina reads it*

Dina: Your adopted?

*Melissa nods her head*

Dina: You never even knew until now?

Melissa: That’s right. I’m going to confront my ADOPTIVE mother about all the lies she has told me!
