Episode 83

That night, Wayne and Lowana are going out on a friendly date at Chez Pierre.

Lowana: I haven’t been on a date in months. You don’t really think of dating once you start uni. It just hitting the books and trying to get the highest mark possible.

Wayne: I never went to university. I was one of the naughty kids. *laughs*

Lowana: I was a bit naughty in high school myself. Did Sylvia tell you that?

Wayne: Not that I know off. She thinks you’re a great friend.

Lowana: How sweet!

Wayne: Lowana?

Lowana: Yes?

Wayne: There’s something you should know.

Lowana: What’s that?

Wayne: I’m married.

*Lowana’s smile turns into a frown*

Lowana: What?

Wayne: Well, you didn’t think we were going out as an item did you? This is a friendly date.

Lowana: I don’t believe this! YOU lied to me!

Wayne: I wanted to tell you the truth right when I first met you.

Lowana: YOU GOOD FOR NOTHING JERK! YOU TAKE ME OUT TO THIS FANCY RESTAURANT AND NOW YOU TELL ME THAT YOU ARE MARRIED???

Wayne: Lowana. You need to calm down.

Lowana: DON’T TELL ME TO CALM DOWN BUSTER!!! YOU MEN ARE ALL THE SAME!!!

Wayne: Can I least take you home?

*Lowana throws her glass of water in Wayne’s face*

Lowana: Thank you for such a WONDERFUL date Wayne! Now I know what kind of person you really are! *storms out of the restaurant*

*Wayne wipes his face with a serviette*

Once she returns home, Lowana is crying to Julie Ann about how horrible the date was.

Lowana: I have never been so humiliated in all my life!

Julie Ann: There, there. At least he told you the truth.

Lowana: I’m such an idiot when it comes to men.

Julie Ann: You aren’t alone on that one.

Lowana: I guess I overreacted when I threw the water in his face. *wipes away her tears*

Julie Ann: No, you didn’t. He deserved it for not being straight with you!

Lowana: I guess you’re right. *smiles and then looks at her watch* I think I should go to bed. I’ve got a big day tomorrow.

Julie Ann: What are you doing?

Lowana: Off to see Mum and Dad. I just hope they forgive me after all the hell I gave them since I finished uni.

Julie Ann: I’m sure it will all work out.

Lowana: Thanks Julie Ann. Good night. *walks into the bedroom she’s sleeping in*

The next day (Wednesday), Alison has the day off from TAFE, so she decides to visit Rachael.

*Alison knocks on Rachael’s door*

Rachael: *from inside* Coming! *opens the door* Hey Ali!

Alison: Hey Rachael. How are you? *they both kiss on the cheek*

Rachael: I’m getting used to being by myself again. What are you doing today?

Alison: To see you of course.

Rachael: That’s nice.

Alison: I was thinking we could go to the movies or if you don’t want to, we could watch something on the VCR.

Rachael: Let’s watch Dirty Dancing! I love that movie!

Alison: Great! I’ll get the popcorn while you put the tape in.

Rachael: Sounds great.

*Alison goes into the kitchen, while Rachael looks for the video tape*

Rachael: Did you see Alexis last night?

Alison: Yes. She looked absolutely dreadful.

Rachael: I just hope that she’s up for the funeral tomorrow.

Alison: It’s not easy losing your best friend.

Rachael: Alexis has got so many best friends that she probably doesn’t even know half of their names.

Alison: Rachael!

Rachael: Just stating a fact. *pulls the Dirty Dancing video tape out of the cupboard* Here it is. Got the popcorn ready Ali?

Alison: Just about.

Rachael: I’m going to put the tape in now. *shoves the tape into the VCR and sits down on the sofa*

*Alison comes out with the popcorn*

Alison: Popcorn, Rachael?

Rachael: Please. *grabs a handful of popcorn as Alison sits down next to her on the sofa*

Alison: You doing anything on Saturday night?

Rachael: I got Hillsong. Why do you ask?

Alison: I was thinking of going to Pizza Hut with the girls.

Rachael: What time are you going?

Alison: 6:30.

Rachael: Hillsong starts at 5.

Alison: When do you finish?

Rachael: Ten-past-six I think.

Alison: Then, that gives you plenty of time to come. You’ve really got to take your mind off Tina.

*Rachael smiles*

Meanwhile, Donna is on her way back from visiting Alexis when she runs into Natalie at the bus stop.

Natalie: Well, well, well! If it isn’t Derelict Donna!

Donna: Get lost cow manure breath!

Natalie: That’s not very friendly. Where have you been anyway?

Donna: To see Alexis. Her friend died last weekend!

Natalie: Sorry to hear that. I hope she’s okay.

Donna: Have you ever thought of taking acting lessons?

*Natalie scoffs at that remark*

Donna: Let me tell you something. If you ever come near me or any of my friends and start your bulls***, then you have to deal with me! Got that?

Natalie: Seriously? Are you retarded?

Donna: I think you are!

*Natalie goes to slap Donna, but she senses what is coming and blocks Natalie’s hand*

Donna: Don’t even think about it bitch!

*The bus pulls over*

Donna: I better let you go. Your bus is waiting! *walks away*

*A scowling Natalie storms over to the bus*

That afternoon, Vicki is having a coffee in the kitchen when the doorbell rings.

*Vicki opens the door to find Suzie standing there*

Vicki: I was expecting you.

Suzie: Where’s Cameron? I need to speak to him.

Vicki: He isn’t here. He’s gone to see one of his new friends. Are you taking him home?

Suzie: No, I’m actually going to leave him at your place for a few months.

Vicki: I thought it was a few weeks.

Suzie: You see, I’m trying to beat my drug addiction so I’ll be staying with my sister in Nowra. There’s no way I could go back home.

Vicki: Tell that to Cameron. Not me.

Suzie: Please Vicki. You’re the only one I can trust. It’s bad enough I lost Violet to the bloody welfare people, so I’m trusting you to look after him for me. Please. *tears start to well up*

Vicki: Okay. I’ll enrol him at the local high school on a part-time basis.

Suzie: How can you do that now? It’s the school holidays.

Vicki: My TAFE teacher knows the principal. Three days a week sounds perfect.

Suzie: The other kids will pick on him.

Vicki: Trust me Suzie. They’ll put Cameron in the support unit.

Suzie: What’s that?

Vicki: Classes for people that have disabilities.

Suzie: I just hope that you know what you are doing.

Vicki: I know. There’s only one problem.

Suzie: What?

Vicki: My boyfriend isn’t going to be very happy about it.

Over at Alexis’s house, Stacey is watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles when Alexis comes downstairs.

Alexis: What are you watching?

Stacey: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Alexis: I’ll join you. *sits down on the couch*

Stacey: This is the first time that you’ve gotten dressed since Monday.

Alexis: I’ve been bitchier than normal, haven’t I?

Stacey: I wouldn’t say that. It’s the grieving process.

Alexis: I feel really bad for pushing my friends away when all they did was try to help.

Stacey: Don’t worry about it. I just don’t know how you’ll cope when I head back up to Wyong tomorrow arvo.

Alexis: I’ll be fine. By the way, thanks for staying with me. I really appreciate it.

Stacey: No problems. *hugs Alexis* You’ve got amazing friends that really care about you.

Alexis: And you’re one of them. *smiles*

After Suzie leaves the house, Vicki goes over to the phone and calls Lolly.

Vicki: Hello Lolly. It’s Vicki Adams here. Listen, I need a huge favour. Would you be able to give me the number of Civic High School’s principal please. It’s just that I want to enrol my friend’s son there on a part-time basis and I need to sign some forms.

*Tevita walks towards the front door and as he opens it, he hears Vicki on the phone*

Vicki: Thanks for that Lolly. I’ll call him in a few minutes to tell him that Cameron will be joining Civic High on a temporary basis. You take care. I’ll see you tomorrow. Bye. *hangs up the phone*

*Tevita has a mixed expression on his face*

Episode 84

The next day (Thursday), Alexis heads to St Mary’s Cathedral for Debbie’s funeral. Stacey, Sumara, Catherine and Riggot are also there to support Alexis.

Riggot: You need anything?

Alexis: No.

Riggot: Are you sure?

Alexis: Yes!

Sumara: We’re here for you Lex.

Alexis: I know.

Stacey: Will you be okay when I return to Wyong this afternoon?

*Alexis doesn’t respond*

Catherine: I’m guessing that’s a no.

Alexis: I never said it was!!!

Catherine: Sorry.

Alexis: No, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t be acting like a cow.

Stacey: Let’s not worry about that. We’re here for you Alexis, no matter what.

Alexis: Thanks guys.

*Alexis sits down and sees her ex-friends Martha Dicello, Sarah North and Kate Saunders*

Alexis: I don’t believe it!

Sumara: What?

Alexis: They have some nerve showing up here!

Catherine: Who?

Alexis: My so-called friends from Pittwater High - Sarah North, Kate Saunders and Martha Dicello!

Sumara: What happened?

Alexis: Well, as soon as they found out Debbie had the brain tumour, they turned on her so callously that she never wanted to go to school again.

Stacey: What bitches!

Alexis: The only reason they picked on her was because I left. I’m telling you if one of them come over here…

Riggot: Calm down baby girl. Don’t let them bother you.

*Martha walks over to Alexis*

Martha: Hi Alexis. I’m so sorry to hear about Debbie.

Alexis: *sarcastically* Are you?

Martha: Kate, Sarah and I are really upset with what has happened to poor Debbie.

Alexis: Pity she couldn’t help what she had.

Martha: Why so hostile?

Alexis: Why do you think?

*Martha just walks away*

Alexis: The nerve of that snake woman!

Sumara: Don’t get worked up over her bestie. She’s not worth it.

*Kate and Sarah walk over to Alexis*

Kate: Look Alexis!

Sarah: We never betrayed Debbie. She betrayed us!

Alexis: That’s a load of garbage! I know exactly what happened!

Kate: Were you there? No, you weren’t! So, get your facts right s**t!

Stacey: Leave her alone and go back to where you and that bitch that was here before you two were sitting.

Sarah: We don’t have to listen to you.

*Stacey grabs Sarah by the dress*

Stacey: If I have to cause a fight at this funeral, I will! NOW BEAT IT!!!

*Kate and Sarah storm off*

Stacey: They’ll leave you alone now!

Alexis: They better.

Meanwhile, Alison is on her way to TAFE when she sees Lowana at the bus stop.

*Alison pulls her car over to where the bus stop is*

Alison: You going somewhere?

Lowana: What’s it to you?

Alison: I was just wondering if you needed a lift.

Lowana: I would like to go and see my parents.

Alison: Why?

Lowana: I want to reconcile with them after all this drama that’s been happening as of late.

Alison: I could come with you if you like.

Lowana: You would do that for me?

Alison: Yes. I might be late to TAFE for it, but I will help you.

Lowana: Thanks. *smiles*

*Alison drives Lowana to her parents house. They get out and Lowana rings the doorbell*

Lowana: I just hope they forgive me.

*Mrs Longbottom opens the door*

Mrs Longbottom: Lowana? What are you doing here?

Lowana: Hi Mum. Can I come in?

Mrs Longbottom: S-sure.

*Lowana and Alison walk inside*

Mrs Longbottom: And how are things going with you Alison?

Alison: Oh, they are going great Mrs L.

Lowana: Is Dad home?

Mrs Longbottom: Yes he is. I’ll just get him for you. *calls out* Darling! Lowana’s here.

*Mr Longbottom enters the living room*

Mr Longbottom: Hello Lowana.

Lowana: Hi Dad.

Mr Longbottom: What brings you back home?

Lowana: I just want to say that I’m sorry for everything lately and I’m trying really hard to change. Honest.

Mr Longbottom: It’s not us you have to say sorry to. It’s your brother and Hayley.

Lowana: Don’t you think I tried apologising to them? At the bus stop, I tried to make peace and all I got was “We’re sorry Lowana. That’s the way it’s going to be from now on until we can trust you again.”.

Mrs Longbottom: You did try and ruin their relationship.

Lowana: And I’m sorry for that!!!!

Mrs Longbottom: We know sweetie and you’ve taken the consequences for it, but we need to talk to Leon and see how he feels if you want to move back in with us.

Alison: Can I suggest something?

Mr Longbottom: Sure Alison.

Alison: Why don’t the two of you organise a meeting with Leon and Lowana and get them to talk about their problems?

Mrs Longbottom: That sounds like a plan.

Lowana: So, is all forgiven with you my dear parents?

Mr Longbottom: Of course. *hugs Lowana*

Back at Debbie’s funeral, the minister is presenting a speech about Debbie’s life.

Minister: Now, Debbie Louise Morgan had a zest for life. She was a bright, bubbly and outgoing girl who had brought friends around her. She had a loving family and wanted to go to Civic High School later this year if her tumour didn’t take her life.

*Alexis starts to tear up*

Minister: Debbie was huge fan of pop music and she wanted to be a music teacher once she left school. Yet again, her brain tumour cost her that opportunity. We’re now going to play some music to honour Debbie.

*Endless Summer Nights by Richard Marx begins to play*

*Alexis is now sobbing uncontrollably. Riggot puts his arm around her as he cries as well, while Stacey, Sumara and Catherine also cry*

Kate: I’m SO mad at Alexis!

Martha: I don’t understand why she’s so hostile towards us now.

Sarah: She just can’t accept the fact that Debbie betrayed us.

*Once the music stops, the minister makes one more announcement*

Minister: Debbie’s coffin will be taken to the Mona Vale cemetery. This will be your last opportunity to say goodbye.

*Debbie’s family and friends start saying goodbye. Some of them are crying*

Alexis: Goodbye my best friend. *wipes away her tears with a tissue*

Riggot: Take care.

Sumara: Bye Debbie. You take care of her God.

Catherine: I’ll miss you.

Stacey: Farewell Debbie.

*Alexis goes over to Debbie’s parents who are standing outside the church*

Mr Morgan: Thank you for coming Alexis.

Alexis: No worries. Debbie didn’t deserve this.

Mrs Morgan: I know darling. I’m worried how you are going to cope now.

Alexis: I’ll be fine. *smiles weakly*

*The pallbearers put Debbie’s coffin into the funeral car as both parents go inside*

Alexis: Bye Mr and Mrs Morgan.

*Mr and Mrs Morgan wave before the funeral car drives away*

Alexis: Someone hug me please.

*Sumara goes over to Alexis and hugs her*

Sumara: It’s okay bestie. Debbie is in a better place now.

Alexis: I will never understand why those three bitches turned on poor Debbie like that.

*Having heard that comment, Kate storms over to Alexis*

Kate: For your information Alexis, Debbie turned on us. She starts rumours about us!

Alexis: More like you excluded her from hanging out with any of her friends because you didn’t want to be seen hanging out with a freak!!!!

Kate: That isn’t what happened and you know it!

*Sarah and Martha walk over*

Martha: What’s going on?

Sarah: We could hear you shouting.

Alexis: The three of you are bunch of no-good backstabbers!!!!

Catherine: Alexis, just ignore them.

Alexis: No I won’t! It’s bad enough you turned on Debbie. At least she had a great deal of dignity than you lot!

Sarah: Will you just give it a rest?

Alexis: Will you and your two bitchy friends admit you are cowards?

Martha: I didn’t even do anything to Debbie. She was such a nice girl.

Alexis: You let it happen Martha!

Kate: YOU ARE NOTHING BUT A DIRTY S**T ALEXIS THORPE!!!! WE NEVER LIKED YOU AND DEBBIE, SO NYAH-NYAH!!!!

Alexis: WHO WAS THE ONE THAT WOULD ALWAYS GOSSIP ABOUT SOMEONE OVER THEIR WEIGHT, OVER THEIR PERSONALITY AND HELL OVER SOMETHING THEY WERE BORN WITH!!!!!!!!

Martha: *crying* Girls. Let’s not do this here.

Kate: WE NEVER DID ANYTHING TO DEBBIE, SO GET THE HELL OVER IT!!!!

Alexis: YES YOU F****NG DID!!!! *punches Kate in the face*

*Sarah goes to hit Alexis, but Stacey steps in and slaps her*

Stacey: YOU LAY OFF!

*Alexis is continue to smack Kate all over the place, while Sumara, Catherine and Martha all start crying*

Sumara: Stop it! Just stop it!

*Riggot pulls Alexis off Kate*

Riggot: Come on baby. She’s not worth it. Let’s go.

*A sobbing Kate is holding her bloodied nose as Alexis and her friends leave*

Kate: You’ll pay for this Alexis!

*Martha and Sarah are so shocked that they don’t say anything*

Later that afternoon, Stacey is packing her bags to go back home to Wyong.

Stacey: I’m sorry that things had to be like this.

Alexis: Don’t be. I said what I need to say and it’s over now.

*Sumara comes upstairs into Alexis’s bedroom*

Sumara: You’ve got a visitor bestie.

Alexis: Who?

*Martha comes upstairs*

Alexis: Oh, it’s you!

Martha: Can we talk to you Alexis?

Alexis: *to Sumara* Bestie?

Sumara: Yes?

Alexis: I need some privacy. Could you bring Stacey’s suitcases downstairs for her please?

Sumara: Sure.

Stacey: I’ll let you know when the taxi is here.

*Sumara and Stacey walk downstairs*

Alexis: Okay. I’m listening.

Martha: I’m really, really sorry for not being there for Debbie when Kate and Sarah was bullying you. But I do have a logical reason.

Alexis: Go ahead.

Martha: They told me that if I didn’t go along into bullying Debbie, they would beat me up until I did what they told me to do. So, I went along with it. *starts to cry*

Alexis: You poor thing. *hugs Martha* I’m sorry for ever lashing out at you Martha. I just knew you were too nice for that. When did the bullying start?

Martha: A few weeks after you left.

*Sumara comes upstairs*

Sumara: The taxi’s here.

*Alexis and Martha go downstairs to say goodbye to Stacey*

Stacey: I’ll see you again soon Alexis.

Alexis: You definitely will. *hugs Stacey*

Stacey: Bye Sumara and Martha. *hugs both girls*

Sumara: See you soon.

Martha: It was nice meeting you Stacey.

*Stacey gets into the taxi*

Stacey: I’ll ring you when I return home.

Alexis: Make sure you do.

*Stacey waves the girls goodbye as the taxi drives off*

Meanwhile, Vicki is cleaning the kitchen table when Tevita enters the room.

Tevita: Can I talk to you?

Vicki: About what?

Tevita: You hardly said one word to me at TAFE today. What’s going on?

Vicki: Nothing. It’s just that Suzie came by yesterday and…

Tevita: Did she pick Cameron up?

Vicki: Well, not exactly. He’s going to be at my place for a while.

Tevita: How long?

Vicki: I’m not too sure. I’ve enrolled him at Civic High on a temporary basis.

Tevita: VICKI!!! Why did you do that??

Vicki: He needs to meet some people his own age so that he doesn’t feel lonely. And besides, who are you to say what I can or can’t do with my life. Just because you’re my boyfriend, doesn’t give you the right to order me around!

Tevita: I wasn’t ordering you around. I just think that you should stop mothering your friend’s son!

Vicki: I’M ONLY MOTHERING HIM BECAUSE HIS MOTHER IS STRUGGLING TO COPE WITH BEATING THE DRUG HABIT!!! I WISH YOU WERE MORE SYMPATHETIC!!!

Tevita: ARE YOU SAYING THAT I HAVE NO SYMPATHY AT ALL?!?

Vicki: NO!

Tevita: I’m not going to argue with you about this any longer! I’ll call you tomorrow.

Vicki: Don’t bother Tevita. Just don’t bother!

*Tevita walks out of the house with a hurt expression on his face, while Vicki just stands here fuming*

Episode 85

The next morning (Friday), Alexis wakes up early and tries to wake Martha up, who spent the night at Alexis‘s house.

Alexis: Martha?

*Martha grunts in her sleep*

Alexis: Martha Dicello!

*This time, Martha wakes up*

Martha: What is it? Is there a fire?

Alexis: No silly. I was just wondering what do you want to do today?

Martha: I’m not sure on that one Alexis. I was thinking we could go to the mall and see if there are any hot guys around.

Alexis: I’ve already got a great boyfriend. You can check them out, but I’m staying faithful for once.

Martha: You really like Riggot don’t you?

Alexis: Before we became boyfriend and girlfriend, we started off as best friends.

Martha: I see. I just wish I had a best friend that was a guy. *sighs*

Alexis: What about Chris Peters?

Martha: Chris Peters? Eww! He picks his nose all the time.

Alexis: I just I don’t run into Kate and Sarah at the mall today.

Martha: Why would they shop at Civic Mall?

Alexis: That’s a good question. They’d prefer to shop at Warringah Mall!

Martha: Because it’s so posh!

Alexis: Yeah. Would it be okay if I invited Sumara to come along with us?

Martha: Sure.

Alexis: It’s just that she’s been my best friend since primary school and I was hoping that you two would get along better.

Martha: I would like that. On the way though, can we lay flowers on Debbie’s grave?

*Alexis begins to get teary*

Alexis: Of course we can.*hugs Martha*

Meanwhile, Alison is driving Rachael to TAFE and on the way there, they have a conversation.

Alison: I’ve been thinking about this since you first mentioned it to me.

Rachael: What’s that sis?

Alison: You know that Hillsong church whatcha-ma-call-it.

Rachael: Oh yeah. Are you interested in going with me tomorrow night?

Alison: I want to see what it’s like.

Rachael: I’m glad your coming with me actually Ali. Because I don’t like going on my own.

Alison: What time do you want me to pick you up?

Rachael: 4:30. Because Hillsong starts at 5pm.

Alison: Will do that for you.

*Alison parks her car in the TAFE City Campus parking lot*

Alison: I hope Lolly is in today.

Rachael: She will.

*Alison and Rachael meet Sylvia and Melissa outside the building*

Alison: Hey girls.

Melissa: Ali! How’s it going? *they kiss each other on the cheek*

Alison: I’m good. Yourself?

Melissa: I’m doing well.

Rachael: How are you Sylvia?

Sylvia: I’m great.

Rachael: That’s good to hear.

*Not long after, Vicki arrives*

Vicki: *rather depressingly* Hello. *gives her friends a kiss on the cheek*

Sylvia: Is something wrong Vic?

Vicki: It’s Tevita. He doesn’t want me to look after Cameron.

Melissa: He’s just got to get used to the idea. That will help both of you if you two ever decided to start your own family.

Alison: I have to agree with Melissa on that one.

Rachael: How did the fight start?

Vicki: It all started when I told him that I enrolled Cameron at Civic High on a temporary basis.

Rachael: That was very childish of Tevita to do that. I mean you’re just looking after the poor boy while his mother is trying to quit taking drugs.

Vicki: That’s what I told him. I made a promise to Suzie and I’m not going to screw it up!

Alison: You stick to your guns girl! *high-fives Vicki*

Vicki: That’s exactly what I’m doing.

Alison: Let’s head in.

Vicki: I’ve just got to apply my lipstick then I’ll meet you in there.

*Alison and her friends enter the TAFE building as Vicki applies her lipstick. Tevita walks over to Vicki as she does her lipstick.*

Tevita: Can I talk to you for a minute?

*Vicki ignores him*

Tevita: I understand that you are angry with me.

*Vicki storms over to her classroom and slams the door in Tevita’s face*

Later that morning, Alexis, Sumara and Martha are walking around the mall looking at stores.

Martha: This shopping centre isn’t as big as I thought it would be.

Alexis: Well, at least it’s got Pink Ink, K-Mart, Target, Diva and Swag City.

Martha: That’s true. Have you ever been to Culture King?

Sumara: No. Where’s that?

Martha: They just opened up in Westfield Parramatta.

Alexis: What’s it like?

Martha: It’s similar to Swag City.

Sumara: I see. We have to get the boys to go look there one day?

Alexis: You know where they sell the best make-up?

Martha: Where?

Alexis: Grace Bros in the CBD.

Martha: What do they sell?

Alexis: They sell that Thin Lizzy range. It’s the only department store in Australia that sells it.

Sumara: It came all the way from my home country of New Zealand.

Martha: Where you born there?

Sumara: I was born in Auckland, but I moved to Australia when I was 4 years-old.

Martha: Any brothers or sisters?

Sumara: I have an older brother, but he lives in New Zealand.

Alexis: Have I met him?

Sumara: Of course you have bestie.

Alexis: I wonder what he’s doing over there.

Sumara: He’s living with my Aunty Rita.

Martha: Rather than your parents?

Sumara: Well, my dad refused to accept the fact that Keanu wanted to be a chef. One night, Keanu told him that either he accepted what he wanted to do for his career or be disowned. Dad said that only p****ers want to be chefs, so Keanu disowned him and has lived in Auckland ever since.

Alexis: That’s so sad. How long ago was this?

Sumara: Just before Christmas 1987.

Martha: Well, that was his choice. Your father had no right to say that to him.

Sumara: Dad regrets it now. He’s tried to send Keanu birthday cards, Christmas cards and even letters, but they all get sent back to our house saying, “Return to sender.”

Martha: What about you and your mother? Does he send your letters back too?

Sumara: No. He replies to my letters. Just not Dad’s.

*A guy around the girls’ age walks past them*

Martha: What a hottie!

Sumara: He’s got such great muscles.

Alexis: I have to admit, he’s pretty handsome. But not as handsome as Riggot.

*Sumara and Martha look at Alexis and then all three girls burst out laughing*

That afternoon, Leon is walking home with Riggot and Hayley. They spent most of the day chilling at the park.

Hayley: You guys are so competitive when it comes to rugby.

Riggot: We love the sport. Isn’t that right man?

Leon: Sure is bro. *smiles*

Hayley: Well, netball season starts soon. I just hope Donna made the team.

Leon: D.M is an ace when it comes to netball.

Hayley: Yeah.

Riggot: She’s not as good as us when it comes to rugby.

Leon: That’s true brother.

Riggot: Would both of you like to come back to my place?

Leon: We can’t. Mum wants us to come straight home.

Riggot: Why?

Hayley: I don’t know. She just said to us “You come straight home when you’ve finished at the park.”

*Riggot stops at his house*

Riggot: Well, you take care of yourself okay man? *shakes Leon’s hand*

Leon: Same to you man.

Riggot: Laters Hayley.

Hayley: Bye Riggz. *they kiss on the cheek*

*Riggot goes towards the front door of his house as Leon and Hayley continue to walk*

Hayley: I wonder why your parents want me to come as well?

Leon: I don’t know girl . We’ll find out when we get there.

*Leon and Hayley arrive home*

Leon: We’re home.

*Leon and Hayley enter the living room and stop dead in their tracks when they see Lowana sitting on the couch*

Lowana: Hey guys.

Leon: What are you doing here?

Mrs Longbottom: Leon. Lowana wants to apologise for her actions towards you and Hayley.

Lowana: That’s right.

Leon: I don’t care if she wants to apologise or not! *points at Lowana* I will NEVER EVER forgive this woman for as long as I live!

Hayley: That goes double for me!

*Leon and Hayley both storm out of the living room*

Lowana: I knew this wasn’t a good idea.

*Mrs Longbottom puts her arms around Lowana*
