(At the Bayside Diner, the Micro Machines gang are talking.)

On Friday, Rhonda and Larni along with their Year 12 classmates are in the hall preparing for their graduation.
*Rhonda sits in between Larni and her best friend Wendy Lovelace*
Rhonda: I can’t believe we’re finally graduating school.
Larni: Me too. I never thought I’d make it to Year 12, but with some support from my foster mother and nan, I made it. *smiles*
Wendy: I’m going to miss you girls.
Rhonda: I can’t believe you’re moving to Canberra.
Wendy: That’s where I’ll be going for uni.
Larni: Awesome!
(At 10:30am, Fisher presents his speech.)
Donald: I must say the Year 12 students of 1989 have been such a pleasure to teach. I have never seen a year group that have been so positive and so full of life throughout their schooling. Now before I present the awards, one of Summer Bay High School’s deputy principals, Miss Crawford has a few things she’d like to say.
*Donald hands Lois the microphone*
Lois: Good morning everyone. Now, I became deputy principal in March this year, but I have had the pleasure of teaching some of these wonderful Year 12 students for Maths. I must say, you guys are just amazing. I couldn’t be any more prouder of what you guys have accomplished. I’m positive that 1990 will be the best year of your life. And good luck with your HSC results. I hope you all did really well. Now, Mr Fisher will present the awards.
Donald: First up, Nina Adams.
*Donald announces two groups of people before introducing the third group of people*
Donald: Wendy Lovelace.
*Wendy takes her portfolio and shakes Lois’s hand*
Wendy: Thank you.
*Donald moves on to the fifth group*
Donald: Larni Retallack.
*Belinda wipes away a tear as Larni goes up on stage*
Belinda: That’s my foster daughter.
Taylor: Mum, don’t cry.
Belinda: I’m just so happy for her.
*Stacey holds Belinda’s hands*
Donald: Rhonda Sheridan.
*Loud cheers erupt as Rhonda goes on stage, takes her portfolio and shakes Lois’s hand*
Rhonda: Thanks.
*Rhonda sees Bobby from the stage*
Donald: You may leave the stage.
*The minute Rhonda leaves the stage, she races over to Bobby and hugs her*
Rhonda: I didn’t think you’d make it.
Bobby: I want to redeem myself.
Rhonda: I’m proud of you. *smiles*
*A few minutes later, the whole of Year 12 are on the stage*
Donald: For the final time, Summer Bay High School’s class of 1989.
*Yolanda Adams’s “I Believe” plays as Year 12 leave the stage*

In Wandin Valley, Chrissie is in the waiting room while waiting for Kierain’s operation to be finished.
*Esme approaches Chrissie*
Esme: Excuse me?
Chrissie: What do YOU want?!
Esme: I just want to see Kierain.
Chrissie: And you care WHY?! I seem to recall that you made a cruel joke about him choking on chill the Sarge put in his food!
Esme: But…
Chrissie: Save it, you old bag! If I were you, I’d bugger off!
Esme: Let me explain…
Chrissie: GET OUT YOU BITCH!
*Esme walks away crying as Alex approaches Chrissie*
Alex: Chrissie?
Chrissie: Oh, it’s just that old bag Watson wanting to be all nicey-nice. I don’t buy it.
Alex: Neither do I.
Chrissie: Oh, I forgot that you came back from theatre. How is he?
Alex: The stump has been removed. He’s back in his room. I was just on my way there.
*Chrissie and Alex enter Kierain’s room*
Alex: How are you mate?
Kierain: Sore.
Chrissie: It’ll be okay darlin. Come kiss me.
*Kierain kisses Chrissie’s cheek*

Alex: I’ll be back in later this arvo to check up on you.

(Meanwhile, Bobby has finished unpacking her flat. She is living in the Bridgewater Apartments.)
Bobby: Welcome back home, Bobby.
*Stacey walks in*
Stacey: Hello Bobby.
Bobby: I’m guessing you’ll be my new landlady.
Stacey: That’s correct. *smiles*
Bobby: I’ve made a promise to redeem myself. I know my bad deeds will never go away, but I can always make up for them.
Stacey: That is so right.
Bobby: How much rent a week?
Stacey: $200.
Bobby: Sounds good.
Stacey: You can pay me next Friday.

Bonnie: I hear you graduated school. Congrats.

Larni: It was hard, but good at the same time.

Larni: I did a few years ago, but I gave up.

Mike: We’re going to the city tonight to check out the nightlife. Do you ladies want to come?
Rhonda: No thanks. I’m going to see my best friend and her daughter.
Larni: And I’m going to Yabbie Creek to check out the disco.
Joel: Hey Mike. We went to the city last night, remember?
Mike: Oh yeah.
Anne: I want to check this disco in Yabbie Creek out.
Cherry: Me too. I hope the guys are hot.

At Irene’s, she has gotten off the phone when Damian and Finlay walk in.

Irene: Kids, I have to talk to you about something important.
Damian: What is it?
Irene: Nathan’s in trouble. SERIOUS trouble. He wants us to move back to our home in the city.
Damian: But what about the diner.
Irene: I’m leaving Paula in charge of the diner. We’re moving on Sunday.
Finlay: But what about school?
Irene: You’ll be returning to our old high school in the city? Won’t that be fun?
*Finlay and Damian look shocked*

Alex: I forgot.
*At that moment, Bobby enters*
Bobby: Hi Kierain. Can I come in?
Kierain: Where'd you spring from?
Bobby: I went to see Judith in Coffs Harbour. I took a lot of time to reflect on my old behaviour and how much it hurt people.
Kierain: The damage was already done by our so called foster parents.
Bobby: Aunt Kerry and Uncle Peter?
Kierain: No, the ones that were there when I ran away.
Bobby: I must say, I'm glad you slapped her. *laughs*
Kierain: I found our lost Aunt by the way.
*Bobby looks at Alex*
Bobby: Aunt Alex?
Alex: Bobby?
Bobby: Indeed I am.
Alex: When was the last time i saw you?
Bobby: 1980.
Alex: I heard Tom died.
Bobby: Yeah. Car crash. Should’ve been Pippa too.

(Meanwhile, no one is talking to Esme.)

(On the beach, Damian and Nicole are holding hands as they walk.)

Paula: No. He’s in Wandin Valley Hospital.

Paula: His appendicitis came back via a stump.

Alice Higgins: Mangrove River locals are outraged at the number of violent attacks occurring in their town as of late.

In Wandin Valley, Sue is washing Kierain.
Sue: How are you feeling at the moment?
Kierain: It hurts.

(Over at the hospital, Sue finds Kierain asleep.)
Sue: I’m guessing he’s tired.

Bette: Since yesterday. That’s one of the reasons I phoned.

*the coach to Mildura comes*

*Kierain opens his present to find a new Hoodoo Gurus record as well as tickets to their concert*

Peter: I can’t wait for Alex, Bette and Kierain to come over. This will be the greatest Christmas ever.

At Summer Bay House, Carly is trying to worm her way into their Christmas lunch.
Carly: YOU PROMISED ME THAT I’D BE INVITED!
Kerry: Well, we lied!
Peter: That’s right!
Carly: That’s it! I’m repossessing the house and taking that retarded freak to court!

*Janet drags Carly away*
Peter: Now, let’s have our Christmas lunch.
*they resume their Christmas lunch*
(Ailsa and the kids are spending their Christmas in hospital)
Ailsa: Oh Alf. I just hope you’re okay.
Chantelle: I’m sure he’s thinking of us, Ailse.
*Ailsa starts to cry*
Karen: Oh, don’t cry. *hugs Ailsa*
Blake: I’m sure Alf wouldn’t want us to be all doom and gloom.
Ailsa: It’s just hard. *wipes away a tear*
*The kids hug her*

That night, Kierain and Bette are watching the stars.
Bette: Did you have a great Christmas?
Kierain: This has to be the greatest Christmas ever. I just hope next year will be the same.
Bette: It sure will honey.
Kierain: I will always remember our first Christmas together.
Bette: That’s great honey. I love you.
Kierain: I love you too, Mum.
*they hug*
(In Summer Bay, the whole town are at the Fletchers singing Christmas carols.)
Julia: Darling, Alice hasn’t arrived yet.
Rafael: I’m sure she will. I mean, this Christmas has been tough.
Julia: I know. *gets teary* Oh Tiago.
*Rafael hugs Julia as they sing ‘Jingle Bells’*
*Outside, Alice is about to enter when she sees everyone singing and having a great time*
Alice: *crying* Oh Tiago. This Christmas has been awful. If only you were still here.
*Instead of going inside, Alice gets inside a taxi and it drives away*

- News of Carly’s arrest delights the whole town, while Ben takes refuge at the Beach House
