  1. ^Yep! The Birdie song by the Tweets played in 1990 during the chook silliness. Chicken mix, I believe. (The "check out the chicken" line was a dead giveaway! Nearly brokeup laughing when I saw it. They always had their "Vogue", "U can't touch this" and "Lambada" rips. But they were good rips!
  2. Alan's death mellowed him. He was still a hard-ass until about 1998 just not on the same levels as the beginning.
  3. I can just imagine Heath and Brax slinking away with their heads down after being admonished.
  4. I think a more realistic situation (cliched as hell though) would be Kyle slips while out on Jump Rock (purely a hypothetical location) and Casey is there to save/drop his arse (delete as applicable). With a good writer, a situation like that could really divide the audience A) "Kyle deserves it for leaving Case to die like a dog in the desert; drop him like a spoiled premier league player!" B) "Case will be no better than him; pull him to safety!"
  5. Is it wrong to want to see Kyle cop it sweet from Casey (I'm NO big fan of his by any stretch) sometime down the track?
  6. That's an awesome summary of the Home and Away lifespan. I loved the 2004-2008 era, The Classic Years, The Mid 90s, The Sutherlands and Hunters being introduced, and the current era is cool even though it's a bit over the top, but it's fun to watch. Charlie was the guy who bothered Kim and Dom was the one who tortured Ric at the garage.
  7. Typing on phones is difficult at first but then you get the hang of it.
  8. I see 1995 as stable (everybody had a turn and the only real damp quibs were Donna once her domestic violence story played out and Rob who vanished but was still living in town late as '99) and 1996 hitting the reset button (New Year 10 line up). However Stephanie, Casey and Liam were all got rid of within a year and ostensibly replaced by Justine, Aaron and Tiegan (who let's be honest had a bit more to them). Jack left three months before Angel did and Daniel Amalm wanted out anyway. He'd done two years and it was going into his third. Glad they bought him back in 2000 with the flashbacks (Blowing up the van, Michael busting him and Sally in bed and of course the '96 flood where he tried to save Michael) I always thought Sam would basically become a male Sally, he'd been there like forever but Ryan Clark had other ideas. As for Fisher, 10 years can change a person (or leave pretty much the same i.e. Pauline Fowler in EE in the last 10 years of her lifespan)
  9. IMO, The late 90s had more promise than delivery and as I said before I just liked Neighbours better at that point in time . I guess it was a period of adjustment after Pippa left (In an exit hardly worthy of her). Sally basically drifted despite getting top billing and a chance to "show off the goods" in that low-cut black dress in the opening credits , Travis and Rebecca just didn't really work taking up Pippa's mantle so quickly. Vinnie's antics, however and the introduction of the Nashes were bright spots and the 1998 cliffhanger was fantastic. 1999 was sort of a mixed bag, either really great weeks or pretty boring patches. I guess the last few seasons of the classic period spoiled me.
  10. 1988-1997: Classic Period 1997-99: The Dip/Decline/Hit & Miss phase 2000-03: New Dawn/Back to Basics/Sutherland Era 2004-08: Emergency Era (Largely Down to Felix/Sarah/Zoe) 2009-10: Wilderness/Lost the Plot Era 2011-: River Boys Phase
