Hi there people, I have edited my Photobucket account to add my Shane Withington fan card and letter. Camilla's album has also been updated, which includes her recently received cards from Ray, Lynne, Josh, Lisa, Shane, Jay and Robert. Congratulations, Emily! I got a fan card and letter from Shane Withington yesterday! I wrote to him in July 2010 so it took a fair while. I'm really pleased though, he's one of my faves!

Does anyone have their scans for the Shane Withington reply? I wrote to him in July 2010, I really hope I get a reply from him because he's one of my favourites!

I thought they had re-invigorated the show to begin with. I wrote to all the actors when they were in the show very early on. But now I'm not a huge fan anymore. I don't think the actors are bad, but the makers have written themselves into a corner. I agree with you that the River Boys have taken over. I feel that they're no longer given any character development, almost as if they've become a parody of themselves. What I mean is that it's drama after drama with no real direction. It's all drama for drama's sake and they just go round in circles. It seems like the writers tried to develop Heath's character by introducing Darcy as his child but they failed because that aspect of his character is barely shown right now. Watching last week, it just seemed like . I do think H&A's problem is that it latches onto sensationalism to get by and that's where it suffers. What they should really be trying to do is attemp different ways of character-driven drama and see what works. But with the River Boys they've fallen into the same territory as periods of 2004-2007 and 2009. They did start off well though. And I love building on my collection of fan cards, I don't feel it is complete without all the characters. Strange I know!

I wouldn't think about it in too much depth, teespazzr. Just write whatever comes naturally. For example I wrote to Steve that I thought the River Boys entroduction really re-invigorated the show after the boring 2010 season. Just a few compliments and then politley requsting an autograph is enough, I should think. Have a go, you know you want to! ;) Best of luck!

I'm really pleased to read this. I wasn't his biggest fan to begin with, but I have really grown to love Xavier and I think he's actually one of the best characters in the show. He comes across as caring, friendly and giving, and I think the acting has improved. I also have to say his relationship with Kelly was my favourite out of all of his relationships so far. I hope they bring her back as a regular, they were so well-wuited and their relationship has been one of my favourite storylins this year. I hope they don't shove him into a new relationship any time soon!

Thanks Riverboi I'm sure you'll get a reply soon. The fan card I want the most right now is Shane Withington (John Palmer). I've never seen a reply from him, I have written to him but he's pobably as unlikely to reply as Josh Quong-Tart so I don't hold out much hope! Over 50 personalised cards?

Ok, I hate taking photos rather than scans but I left my scanner in my new flat in Birmingham and probably won't be taking my fan cards up there when I go in a couple of weeks so I've taken photos to share. Hope you like them

It's lovely to see people getting replies and to see this thread active again To my surprise I got a reply from David Jones-Roberts today with a note 'Thanks for your support and kind words'. I am shocked it was from him as I was expecting Georgie Parker - she's the most recent cast member I wrote to. I wrote to David in September 2009, so it took two years I can't believe it took two years! I loved the Kelly/Xavier romance so I'm thrilled with this

Not quite, it seems that he uses a template and then answers individual questions in the second paragraph. I got a reply from Stephen with a letter today as well I'm really thrilled, he comes across as very articulate, respects the fans and appreciates the support. I also think it's very sweet that he writes in the letters 'sorry for the delayed reply'- it's not like he has to reply so that is very nice of him I hope he goes to America and does well there, he really deserves it Congrats on your reply too, Marie! I will post scans of my fan card and letter soon!

Wasn't the first half of 2000 where Five started airing from and Channel Five Life/Fiver/5* started airing from when they repeated or was it ater on in the season? You're right, there's not much of it online. I'd love to see the opening credits for the 2000 premiere episode, for example.

I wonder what led them to bring the character back 5 years after he'd departed, just for a guest stint when he barely had any links left...? He had aged quite a lot by the look of the pictures he was in from that time. Does anyone else agree, or was he still a heart-throb back then?!
