Extended Summary

Dana and a newly discharged Bree are walking by the beach. Bree comments on how much she’s missed this but Dana wants to get her up to the flat for rest, saying at the moment she’s not her friend or flatmate but her nurse. Bree however insists on a coffee. Marilyn approaches and offers to bring a lasagne up for her dinner but Bree politely says people can stop making a fuss. At the farm house, Mackenzie tries to downplay her tears to Levi before admitting that she’s not excited: After what happened before, she’s just waiting for bad news. Levi tries to encourage her to stay positive.

At the coffee cart, Marilyn asks if Bree knows when her attacker will be sentenced. Bree knows he’s on remand but tells Marilyn and Dana that she isn’t keen on him going to jail, since him being a drug addict means society’s already failed him once. Roo comes along and tells Marilyn she got a package from Cohen, including a wooden tool he’s made. Meanwhile, Levi gives Mackenzie the trigger injection. She decides to go into work and do a stock take because otherwise she’ll sit there overthinking things.

Bree and Dana arrive at the flat. Dana explains Sonny’s at his brother’s graduation and Theo and Lacey have gone away for a few days. Bree gets a text and Dana worries Remi is hassling her. Bree says he’s stayed away since the hospital and it’s from hospital admin. She feels like they don’t really care and aren’t addressing the real issue. She suggests Dana come to Salt with her later if she rests first.

Mali is setting Abigail down for some drinks at Salt but Abigail starts up when Levi and Mackenzie come in, calling him Judas. Levi tries to avoid the conversation while Mackenzie tries to defend him, saying it wasn’t Levi’s decision and he’s honoured to be asked. Abigail calls that selfish, saying Jimmy’s devastated. Mackenzie loses her temper and yells that Abigail needs to grow up, is the only one making it an issue and is making everything about her.

Mali follows Abigail downstairs and says that Mackenzie’s words were harsh. Abigail slowly realises he agreed with her. Mali says she’s talking about the wedding bringing everyone together but she’s doing the exact opposite and it’s Eden’s choice. He says she can’t boycott the wedding and it’s still great everyone’s going to be there.

Up in Salt, Mackenzie is in the store room as Levi wonders if he should approach her. Mackenzie invites him in and says she just wanted him to have a win after everything that’s going on with the IVF treatment. Levi says he’s all right but Mackenzie wants him to be more than all right. Levi suggests they take a break. As they head out into the bar, Abigail appears. Levi says they’re not doing round two. Abigail says she’s there to apologise.

At the Diner, Roo has finished her letter to Cohen. She tells Marilyn she didn’t need to write two versions this time although she thinks Cohen won’t want to exchange letters forever. She adds that he said he missed Marilyn’s cooking. Meanwhile, Dana and Bree are eating on the balcony at Salt and Dana comments on how quiet Bree is being. Bree admits she’s starting to realise how angry she is and that there should be security in the department all the time because they’re at risk. Dana realises she said the same thing to Sonny recently and agrees they should feel safe.

Mackenzie wakes up, causing Levi to wake too. She admits she had a dream about them looking down on their child in his cot and then she woke up and remembered that they’re a long way off from that happening. Levi tries to reassure her. Next morning, Roo is about to post her letter to Cohen. Marilyn gives her a recipe for banana bread to include, saying he can make it with his friends. Dana joins them and wonders if they’ve seen Bree, explaining she wasn’t there when she woke up.

In fact, Bree is sat cross-legged on the beach. Mali joins her and guesses she wants to go surfing to clear her head. Bree admits to feeling angry about what happened. Mali says that feeling angry can be useful, he uses it in his art or to motivate him to do something he’s been putting off. He suggests she finds a way to use the anger.

Levi is making breakfast for Mackenzie, who is cuddled up in a dressing gown. Abigail appears and takes the toast and says she’s still sorry about before. She admits she didn’t actually say anything to Eden, and has accepted it’s her choice and she should be fine with it. She’s going to the city with Eden and Debra for a few days to search for a wedding dress; Eden wants something traditional but also her. She asks for a lift but Levi says he’s staying home to look after his “snookie”. Abigail says they’ll be embarrassing parents.

Roo gets an e-mail and tell Marilyn it’s from the fostering co-ordinator. Even though she told them she wants a break, they’ve contacted her about another child needing a placement. Later, at the Diner, she tells Marilyn it’s a long-term placement for a six-year-old boy and they thought she might be interested since she was thinking of adopting Cohen. She worries they might be desperate.

At the Diner flat, Dana is leaving a rambling and worried phone message for Bree only for Bree to walk in and say her phone died. Bree says she’s still angry and has decided what she’s going to do. Dana begs her not to quit her job. Bree says she’s going to hold the hospital accountable and make sure it doesn’t happen again.
