Extended Summary

Justin is surfing. Remi is waiting for him when he returns to the beach and says he’s got something he wants to talk to him about. Justin recalls Eden saying he had some big news. Remi says they’ll meet at the surf club in ten minutes, after Justin’s showered. At the Diner, Marilyn sits down with Roo and offers to play Alf’s role. They both know he’d tell her to stick to her decision to take a break. Roo still isn’t sure about turning down the foster placement. She decides to go for a walk, declining Marilyn’s offer to go with her even though Leah arrives at that moment.

Up in the flat, Dana wonders what holding the hospital accountable actually means and what Bree wants them to do specifically; they don’t have enough resources to have security guards in every cubicle. Bree wonders if maybe the security guards have any ideas. Harper rings Dana, insisting she needs to come over now. Dana tells Bree she has to go.

Remi and Justin settle on the balcony at Salt and Remi explains about his record label plan. He shows Justin some studio premises he’s been looking at and then offers him a contract: He wants him to manage any acts he signs up. He knows Justin has other commitments so leaves him to think about it. Exiting the surf club, he runs into Bree. They have a polite but slightly awkward conversation about how she is and when she got home before Remi leaves.

Dana cautiously arrives at the Parata house. Harper says Archie is still with Tane and she has a date with Drew that afternoon. She drops heavy hints before Dana realises that she thinks that, since it’s the third date, things might get physical. Dana still doesn’t understand why she’s there. Harper explains nothing of that sort has happened since before Archie was born and she’s not sure that she’s ready.

Leah joins Roo on the beach and confirms Marilyn filled her in. Roo admits that she could take in another foster child but she’s not sure she wants to, before noting that sounds horrible and the point of being an emergency foster carer is to step up when a child needs her. Leah thinks she needs time to heal after Cohen.

Dana has answered a call from Tane on Harper’s phone and tells her he and Archie are on the way back and she told him she’s excited to seal the deal. Harper says she never knows when she’s joking. She is still feeling awkward about sleeping with someone two months after giving birth. Dana advises her to just go and let whatever happens happen, and Harper admits a part of her wants to sleep with him.

Leah joins Justin at Salt and wonders if he’s got their anniversary date wrong. Justin tells her about Remi’s record label and wanting him to help out. (Bree listens in from the next table.) He insists he can fit it in around the garage, even with Theo only being part-time, and it’ll only be a few to start with. Leah agrees it could be good for them. Bree looks pleased. Back at the house, Remi puts his Lyrik record on. He looks at a list he’s written of potential names for the label and adds Back on Track Records to it.

Harper and Dana arrive at the surf club. Harper tries to get Dana to go but then Drew arrives, saying his daughter was causing trouble with the babysitter. Dana introduces herself and Drew admits he didn’t know Harper had a sister. Harper ushers him upstairs and Dana quietly tells her to use protection this time. Upstairs, Harper finds them a table and nervously suggests getting drinks in, repeatedly saying she’ll get him a beer.

At the Diner, Leah has got Justin a piece of cake and says she’s pleased to see him excited. He is convinced Remi isn’t a mess anymore. Marilyn sits with Roo nearby and Leah joins them. Roo tells them she’s decided not to take the foster child on. They tell her not to feel guilty. Up in the flat, Bree finishes a call arranging a meeting with hospital admin. Dana arrives back and Bree tells her about meeting Remi and his record label plan. She notes she’s surprised he didn’t tell her and it’s going to take some getting used to even though it was what she wanted. She asks about Harper and Dana says she needed a pep-talk before her date.

Harper goes back to Drew, saying she’s ordered some wedges. Drew tells her that he told his nine-year-old that he’s seeing somebody. Harper recalls he said he wasn’t going to unless it was serious. Drew says he thought it was but his daughter still expects him to get back with her mum and isn’t ready. He tells her they can’t see each other anymore. Harper is disappointed but understands. Drew leaves and the waiter delivers the wedges.

Justin goes round to see Remi and presents him with the signed contract, saying he’s spoken to Leah about it. He asks if Remi has come up with a name. Remi tells him Back on Track Records, which he likes. Justin wonders if it’s just going to be them. Remi rings Sonny and leaves a message saying he’s got an offer for him.

Dana finds Harper sitting in a park area. Harper explains about Drew dumping her. Dana offers to kill him but Harper says she understands why he did it. She also says she can’t go home: Tane’s texted to say he and Archie are home and she can’t face telling him.
