Extended Summary

Cash, Eden, Harper and Tane are eating outside the Parata house. Cash shows them the folder he has set up for the wedding preparations, saying it’s good to have it all in one place. Looking at how much they have to decide, Eden comments that it’s a wonder anyone ever get married. There is a slightly awkward moment as they look at Tane and Harper. Harper convinces Tane to go and set up for a boot camp.

Dana has set up a breakfast table at the flat. Sonny joins her and she comments that last night wasn’t fun so she’s hoping to open a conversation. Sonny sits with her and she says she’s made some wrong assumptions about him but it was based on some things he’s said and the fact he hasn’t corrected her. Sonny asks if she’s saying it’s his fault and tells her to enjoy the breakfast.

Cohen talks to Alf about how he’s never had this many relatives before and wonders if he’ll remember their names. Alf suggests calling them all “mate”. Adrian arrives to collect Cohen. After they have gone upstairs, Alf reminds Roo that she can’t show Cohen how she’s feeling. They explain to Marilyn that Adrian wants Cohen to live with him.

Cash finds Harper looking at her phone. She asks if he’s ever tried online dating and wonders if he could help with her profile, since she deleted it a long time ago. Cash suggests she talks to Eden or Dana or anyone but eventually agrees to give her a male perspective. She wonders if she should mention having a baby.

When Cohen and Adrian come down, Alf suggests they sit. Adrian tells Cohen he’s loved getting to know him and being his dad and wants him to come and live with him permanently. Cohen looks at Roo, who tries to excuse herself from the conversation by going to make tea. Cohen tells Adrian he can’t live with him and asks to go to his room. After he’s gone, Adrian asks Roo what she said to him and why she set him up to fail. Alf takes Adrian for a walk.

Harper tries to get Cash’s opinion on various profile pictures. He dubs them all great before reminding her he said he wasn’t good at this. He wonders if Tane knows and if she should mention on her profile that she lives with her ex. Eden comes over and says Remi’s still in bed and she left a post-it note on his head telling him to call her. Cash goes to take a phone call and Harper asks Eden if she’s ever tried online dating.

Alf takes Adrian for a walk in the park and tells him not to talk to Roo like that. Adrian says he wasn’t expecting outright rejection. Alf reminds him that he turned up wanting to know Cohen, then scarpered without a word and left Roo to pick up the pieces. He says Roo won’t stand in the way of what’s best for Cohen.

Sonny is preparing to go and see Remi. Dana asks for a better chat and reminds him that when he turned up, he was running around with Remi’s credit card, didn’t have a job or want one, and called himself a free bird. She asks to know more about him, wondering how he managed to travel or pay rent without working. Sonny says he taught English in Asia and helped out in hostels, and since he’s been there he’s been living off savings or doing odd jobs with Theo.

Eden tells Harper she doesn’t have anything against apps but admits she used to just stand on stage, scan the crowd and pick someone…which is how she met Cash. Cash returns and Harper calls him a groupie. Cash says Gary is in hospital after having his appendix out. Harper goes to see to Archie as Cash explains to Eden that Gary wants him to cover him for a couple of weeks and he can if Sarge approves it. Eden says she can handle the wedding organising.

Cash goes to see Tane outside the surf club and tells him about going away, before asking him to be his best man. Tane says he’d be honoured. Cash mentions Harper and the apps and says he thought Tane knew. Tane says he knew she was going to be dating again but didn’t know she was already on the apps.

Roo wonders if she should check on Cohen but moments later he appears. Marilyn tells him she hopes he has a good time on his trip. Cohen isn’t sure Adrian will still want him to go but Marilyn assures him he will. She heads off to work as Roo sits Cohen down and asks why he said no. Cohen asks if it’s what she wanted. Roo says it’s not about what she wants and she’ll be fine with whatever he decides. Cohen says he wants to live with Adrian.

Eden and Harper are walking Cash out the front. Cash says David seemed to have other things on his mind. Harper gets a match and Cash says Tane seemed surprised she was on the app. Eden offers to keep an eye on Archie while she goes and talks to him. Cash and Eden kiss goodbye.

At the Diner, Alf suggests to Adrian that kids need to process things. Adrian says he’ll respect Cohen’s decision but won’t give up on him. He gets a text from Roo asking him to come to the house. When they arrive, Roo prompts Cohen to say he wants to live with him. Adrian is delighted and Cohen says he’s already packed. Alf says goodbye to Cohen and gives him a fishing rod. Roo hasn’t got a present but Cohen says she’s already given him enough. Alf escorts Cohen out and Adrian tries to apologise to Roo, who just tells him to look after Cohen. Cohen comes back in and hugs her, saying he won’t forget her. After Cohen and Adrian have gone, Alf comforts Roo.

Harper finds Tane down on the beach after a class. She mentions Cash said he was thrown about her dating. Tane says he’s getting used to it but wonders how it will work when she wants to bring someone home. Harper says she won’t invite someone without talking to him. She adds dating with a five-month-old is a big enough obstacle.

Alf and Roo walk to a park bench. Alf thinks Adrian will be a good dad and Roo agrees. She notes this is a success story. Alf says she did the right thing. Roo admits she’s going to miss him.
