Extended Summary

Dana and Sonny walk along the beach. Dana confirms she checked in on Bree before leaving work. Sonny says you don’t expect something like that to happen. Dana says you often cop abuse at the hospital, both from patients and their families, and you have to remember that they’re in pain and aren’t going to be their best selves. She says you see the best and worst of humanity.

At the Diner, Marilyn arrives to relieve Leah. Justin is taking her home to teach her poker as an apology for not letting her attend the previous night. Alf asks how things are going at home and Marilyn says he’d know if he didn’t go out at 5am to go fishing. Alf tries to get her to tell him what’s going on with Adrian but Marilyn refuses to be his spy and tells him to go home and find out.

At the caravan park house, Adrian is telling Cohen a story about how his cousin Jared ended up in manure. Cohen asks when he can meet them. Roo tries to forestall the question but Adrian says his mother is having a birthday party at the weekend; he has told her all about Cohen and she’s looking forward to meeting him. Cohen asks Roo if he can go. Alf arrives back as Roo says they can do without him for a weekend.

Theo and Lacey are walking through a park area. Theo doesn’t think running away is the answer. Lacey says it’s not just about David and Jo, she thinks they should get out and see the world. Theo reminds her she begged Mali to keep her job but she thinks he’d sort something out. Theo asks to think about it. He gives her a kiss and walks away.

At the Morgan house, Leah announces she’s all in. Justin suspects she’s bluffing, especially when she says she’s outfoxed him. Theo turns up and tells them about Lacey wanting them to move away from Summer Bay. Leah instantly insists he can’t go. Justin calms the mood, calling it a big decision. Theo explains she doesn’t want to be around her family and he’s not sure how long she’d give him to make up his mind.

Roo finds Cohen searching for his blue shirt and takes him to get it from the line. Alf comments to Adrian that he and Cohen seem happy. Adrian says he owes Roo a lot. He notes he can’t wait to see Cohen grow up and will be the person he needs. Roo and Cohen come back in and Roo invites Adrian to stay for an early dinner.

At the Diner flat, Sonny helps Dana out with a massage. They muse on Bree being attacked in her workplace. Sonny comments that a hospital is the place to be hurt but Dana isn’t amused. Sonny reflects that they’ll have to work out how it will work when Bree gets home and won’t be able to work. Dana quips that he doesn’t pay rent anyway. Lacey comes home before Sonny can answer.

At Salt, Justin says he can understand why Lacey wants to leave but wonders why Theo would. Theo says Lacey’s the reason; he can’t imagine being without her. Justin wonders if she would leave without him and asks if he’s willing to leave the life he’s built. Theo isn’t but doesn’t want to let Lacey go either. He asks how Justin would handle it if it was Leah. Justin says you don’t handle Leah and Lacey’s the same.

Lacey tells Dana and Sonny about her plans to move. Dana points out her father and sister just bought a house, then realises that’s why she’s moving. Theo turns up and they make themselves scarce. He says he’s made a decision. Lacey hopes it’s yes. At the Diner, Cohen chats with Alf and Roo about meeting his family. Adrian comes over after calling his mother. Cohen wonders if he should get her a present. Roo starts to make a suggestion but Adrian says he’s enough of a present. Adrian and Cohen go out on the pier. Roo is proud of her handiwork and Alf agrees she did good but suggests Adrian might want full custody. Roo tries to dismiss the idea but looks worried. Alf leaves them to it.

Dana and Sonny are having a drink at Salt. Dana tries to chat about what’s going on with Theo and Lacey but Sonny isn’t interested. Dana is puzzled that he thinks they’ve got a problem. He says he wasn’t talking about rent but about Bree needing help around the house. He says she often says he doesn’t pay for anything and, as he leaves, says he paid for the drinks. At the Morgan house, Justin tells Leah he’s got Theo to think about things. Leah thinks he should have talked Theo out of leaving. Justin says he’s just got Theo to think about what he really wants and if he leaves then it’ll be his decision.

Lacey notes she should have expected this as Theo says he doesn’t want to leave and tries to convince her to stay as well. He asks her what’s the worst that could happen if she stayed. Lacey says she might forgive Jo and then she’ll have forgotten her mother as well. Theo assures her she won’t ever forget her. At the Morgan house, Justin offers Leah a herbal tea and she asks for something stronger. Theo and Lacey turn up and say they’re not going anywhere. Leah gives them a hug as Lacey agrees she needs to stop running.

Back at the Diner, Adrian suggests to Cohen that he could go fishing with his brother and could maybe spend the week at their farm after the party. Roo cautiously suggests seeing how the party goes first. Adrian agrees but thinks once Cohen gets there he won’t want to leave. Later, as they’re walking through a park, Cohen wonders if he should pack extra clothes in case. While Cohen goes to play with the ball, Adrian tells Roo she was right that he could be a father. Roo suggests slowing down but Adrian says he’s got no doubts and wants Cohen to live with him full-time. Roo doesn’t say anything but looks sad.

Dana arrives back at the Diner flat. Sonny shows her bank statements where he’s marked all the times he’s sent rent to Bree. Dana wonders why he never mentioned it. Sonny thinks she considers him a leech and says he’s going to bed. Meanwhile, Alf is sat up in the middle of the night and Roo joins him. Roo confirms he was right about Adrian and admits she thought Cohen might just stay with him for weekends and school holidays. She notes she made it happen. Alf says she did the right thing and just thought she’d have more time. Roo agrees.
