Extended Summary

John approaches Remi outside the Lyrik house and asks if he’s seen Cash lately, saying he gets no response when he knocks on the door even though Cash’s car is there. He asks Remi to ask Eden if Cash is eating the caseroles he’s been leaving on his doorstep, because Marilyn’s going to keep cooking them. Remi mostly glosses over the subject. He says he’s meant to be going for a ride with Bree but isn’t sure where she is. He leaves her a message.

At the hospital, Bree sees she has a voicemail from Remi but ignores it. Nearby, Claudia tries asking Dana why she’s been called back in and Dana says Bree’s being thorough. Claudia also tries asking Bree, who says they need to rule out anything more serious. Justin arrives to check on Claudia and insists that he’s not there because she threatened to sue but because she sounded worried.

Theo and Xander are coming back from the beach after a surf. Theo is feeling bad about his mistake and says he’d feel better if Justin got mad at him. He asks how Xander’s coping at Salt without Felicity. Xander tells him about Cash taking other her share and how, since his visit, he’s been sat at home ringing up with ideas ten times a day.

At the Diner, Harper arrives in response to a summons from Marilyn. After asking about morning sickness, Marilyn gives her a handmade blanket and bombards her with questions about whether it’s a boy or a girl and what Tane wants. Theo comes in looking for Justin. Leah tells him he’s gone to the hospital to check on Claudia and isn’t sure why she’s back there.

Justin asks Dana what Bree thinks is going on with Claudia. Dana says she has no idea what Bree’s thinking before adding that she’s just being extra vigilant. A porter brings Claudia back and Bree tells Dana to let her know when the report comes in. Claudia grumbles on seeing Justin but wants him to stay because it’s better than freaking out on her own. Justin says he knows the people looking after her and they’ll take care of her. Meanwhile, Leah and Theo are walking in a park area. Theo feels bad that he’s stuffed up so badly within three months of qualifying. Leah tries to reassure him but he points out this has affected someone’s life.

Bree informs Claudia that the CT report has come back clear. Claudia is bewildered that there’s actually nothing wrong as Bree tries to argue she needed to be certain. Claudia says Bree made her think she needed surgery and has made her miss another day of work. Bree cuts her off with a rather perfunctory apology and says Dana will sort her out.

On the balcony at Salt, Xander tells Harper he was meant to be meeting Dana for lunch but she’s been held up at work. He talks to her about Tane knowing now and asks if they’ve arranged the appointments and birthing classes together. Harper doesn’t really seem to know and asks for a takeaway. Remi arrives, having given up on waiting for Bree.

Bree is holed away in her office and ignores a text from Remi about being at Salt. Dana turns up with Claudia’s discharge papers to sign and quizzes Bree about how she is, saying Bree asked her opinion yesterday but dismissed it today, and she doesn’t understand why Claudia was called back in. Bree insists she is fine and says she’s in the middle of something. Dana takes Claudia the papers. Justin suggests it’s better safe than sorry and Claudia drily notes it’s a shame his garage doesn’t have the same policy. She asks him for a lift home and he offers her lunch instead.

Dana arrives at Salt and tells Xander she can only spare half an hour before she has to be back at work. She asks Remi if anything’s going on at home with Bree because she’s not acting like herself: She’s been at the hospital all night and doesn’t need to be. Remi recalls that Felicity’s death affected her but thought she’d pushed through that. Meanwhile, Bree is obsessively looking at Claudia’s x-rays. Remi appears and she recalls that she was meant to be going for a ride with him, saying she’s been too busy to check her phone. Remi explains that Dana told him where she was. He suggests they get a coffee but Bree rather brusquely says that she’s busy.

Harper is sat on a bench near the beach eating her takeaway. John comes over and asks about Tane with Harper explaining that he’s gone camping with Perri for a few days and will be back that afternoon. John sits with her and asks if she’s thought about where they’re going to live, saying there’s not much room for a baby at Irene’s place or Tane’s and wondering if they’re going to live together. Harper, somewhat overwhelmed, says they haven’t discussed anything. Xander and Dana see them and Dana tells Xander she’ll have to miss their lunch. She shoos John away, saying to come to her for any gossip, and comforts a teary Harper.

Justin and Claudia arrive at the Diner. Theo comes over to apologise and Justin admits Claudia’s his nephew. Annoyed, Claudia asks how long he’s been qualified and, on learning it’s only been a couple of months, suggests Justin’s trying to cover up his incompetence. An equally annoyed Leah starts having a go at Claudia to defend Theo. Justin steps in, sending Theo on an errand and telling Leah he and Claudia will be on the veranda. Leah says Marilyn will bring them some menus.

Later, Justin and Claudia are walking in a park area. Claudia ignores a phone call from a client that she’s meant to be meeting with tomorrow, saying she isn’t sure she can make it but doesn’t want to reschedule her again. She accepts Justin’s offer of a courtesy car but isn’t sure who she’s going to get to drive her. Justin announces that he’ll do it.

Bree arrives at the Lyrik house. She apologises to Remi for being short with him earlier, saying it was just a bad day, and suggests they go for a ride now. At the surf club, Harper explains to Dana that people keeping asking her questions about Tane and the truth is she doesn’t know: Him being on the camping trip means they haven’t had a chance to sit down and discuss it. Dana asks if she’s going to cry again, saying she can only use hormones as an excuse twice more.

At the Diner, John accepts a takeaway from Marilyn for Cash, even though he’s not sure Cash will answer the door. Leah is still in a bad mood over the way Claudia spoke to Theo. Justin comes back and says he’s dropped Claudia back home. He points out he and Theo are the reason she doesn’t have a car. Leah points out Justin is getting it fixed and has arranged a courtesy car, and says it’s over now. Justin awkwardly agrees. He gets a text from Claudia saying she’ll see him tonight and tells Leah it’s just about a part.
