Extended Summary
Mackenzie and Felicity are walking near the beach. Mackenzie asks Felicity to cover for her since she has to leave early and Felicity agrees. Cash appears and Mackenzie is surprised to see him in his security guard uniform. Cash and Felicity head towards Salt as Mackenzie gets a call from Levi only to learn that his plans have changed and he’s not coming down.
At the Lyrik house, Bree chats to Remi and Eden about the Doctors Without Borders offer. Eden wonders where Bree will be sent after Belgium and Bree says it’ll probably be Africa or Eastern Europe. Eden gets a text from Cash and heads off to meet him. Remi reassures a nervous Bree, saying he’ll be there when she gets back.
Justin and Leah walk on the beach, happy about being engaged again. Justin suddenly realises he hasn’t got the ring on him but Leah assures him she doen’t need it and they kiss. Back at the Lyrik house, Remi tries to get information on Belgium for Bree: He went there with his parents as a child but only remembers the chocolate. He offers to contact them for sightseeing tips but Bree interrupts to say she’s not going, since things have changed since she applied. Remi is aghast and tries to talk her round, prompting Bree to walk out. Remi follows her.
Felicity gets Cash a coffee to perk him up. Mackenzie tries to quiz him on Eden’s trip, specifically asking about Levi’s wife, but since Cash hasn’t spoken to her, he can’t tell her anything. He meets up with Eden outside; Eden is pleased with the trip, noting it feels like she and Imogen have known each other for years and Levi and Imogen are really good together.
Justin is searching his laptop as Leah prepares to head off to work, looking for the wedding planning they did last time. He wants to get Theo involved again and asks Leah about setting a wedding date. Leah tells him to slow down, saying she wants to enjoy the moment this time and asking him not to tell people. They head to the coffee cart and are greeted by Irene who is pleased to see them happy together. Justin makes knowing remarks about how they’re going to be hanging out a lot which just leave Irene look confused, before he and Leah head off to the Diner.
Remi and Bree walk through a park area. He notes he wouldn’t have been able to walk this far a week ago so Bree doesn’t need to stick around to look after him. Bree insists that’s not why she’s doing it. Remi recalls she said this was the adventure she never got to have. Bree says she’s realised that’s not what she wants: She’d rather have had more time with her father, and she’d rather spend as much time as possible with Remi, her mum and the people she loves.
At Salt, Mackenzie tells Felicity she doesn’t need to leave early after all. Felicity shows Mackenzie a flyer for the paint and sip night Xander’s planned. Mackenzie is unimpressed, saying unless it involves painting a naked person (which Felicity says would be unhygienic), she can’t see people forking out for it, even with drinks and canapes thrown in. Cash and Eden turn up and Mackenzie tries to ask Eden about her trip but only gets generic answers.
Justin is watching Leah work at the Diner and she kisses him just as Irene comes in and observes there’s something different about them. Justin comments on having time together with the garage being slow and Theo doing TAFE work before Leah gives in and tells him to tell her. Justin announces they’re getting married again and Irene hugs them in delight. Later, Justin is on the phone to Theo letting him know. He heads out in a good mood after a quick goodbye to Leah. Irene checks things aren’t moving too fast for Leah. Leah says they’re not but looks uncertain as Irene walks away.
On the balcony at Salt, Eden starts to ask Cash about his job but is interrupted by Mackenzie asking her about the trip. Eden raves about Imogen and says they’ll soon be a perfect family, explaining what Imogen said about it being on the table. Shortly after, Cash and Eden pay for their meal. Eden is set for a night together until she gets a text saying Bree has to work so she needs to watch Remi. Felicity tells Cash she’ll finish soon and then they can walk home. She approaches Mackenzie and suggests a way to make profit from Xander’s event by reducing the admission price but Mackenzie bluntly dismisses it.
Eden congratulates Remi on his first walk since the accident. She expresses surprise on Bree heading back to work rather than spending her last two weeks in the Bay with Remi. Bree explains that she’s not going and surprises Remi by not giving him advice before she leaves, although she says it’s up to Eden to boss him around. Justin turns up and asks if Remi would be ready for a gig: His and Leah’s wedding.
Back at Salt, Mackenzie goes to the store room and starts to text Levi saying “Are you really starting a family?”, then deletes it. Felicity is about to go but Mackenzie announces she is leaving early after all and walks out. Felicity checks with Cash that Mackenzie’s behaviour is weird before noting she was hoping to spend the evening cheering him up: She knows he’s miserable.
Cash and Felicity head out onto the balcony where Cash admits his job’s getting him down: He spends twelve hours walking around a closed shopping centre, seeing no-one but a couple of night packers and a cleaner while his partner sits in front of the security monitors on his phone. He worries that he’s thrown away his career for nothing.
Leah is in her bedroom and makes a call to Doctor Margaret Brooks, saying she’s one of her outpatients. Justin comes home and listens at the door as Leah says she’s mostly fine but isn’t sure how she feels about what’s been happening and wants to talk about it.
