Extended Summary

Tane is running a class near the beach while Dana watches. Harper joins her and dodges a question about her lawyer. Dana says Roo doesn’t need her as a nurse anymore but notes it might lead to her joining the gym for the right man. Felicity appears alongside them and Tane comes over and gives her a kiss. Harper explains she’s his wife and tells Felicity it’s good to see her looking happier. Felicity heads back to Salt where she disappears into the store room and takes another pill. Rose comes in, discussing Mali moving back out with Xander, and assures Mackenzie she doesn’t blame her for the situation.

Zara tries to get Mali to let her stay, reminding him his mum told him to take care of her. Mali suggests that might mean forcing her to do the hard thing. Meanwhile, Mackenzie assures Xander she trusts him to manage things with Irene. Tane comes in and asks Mackenzie about Dean and Ziggy. Mackenzie shows him and a slightly uncomfortable Felicity some photos of Izzy. Tane tells her they’re trying for a baby.

In the Diner kitchen, John continues to try and convince Irene to take Harper’s warning seriously. Irene insists she’s been listening to alarm bells all along but still refuses to go and see her lawyer. Meanwhile, Harper has filled Dana in on her lawyer’s advice. She admits she didn’t even ask exactly what priors Irene has. Dana suggests it might be an idea to distance herself from Irene until after the trial, but Harper insists that Irene’s in this because of them and they’re standing by her.

Outside the surf club, Rose is talking to Xander about her problems with Mali and admits she thought she’d won when he moved in, only to end up back at square one. Xander keeps getting texts and finally a phone call from Irene. Rose tells him to go and deal with it. Meanwhile, Mali finds Zara outside. She admits he’s right but isn’t expecting a good reaction from her parents. Mali says that if she can survive five years at law school hating it, she can manage five minutes dealing with her parents. He offers to go back with her as a friend but Zara accepts she needs to grow up.

Mackenzie gives Tane her congratulations before saying goodbye to him, while Felicity gives him a kiss goodbye. Mackenzie checks Felicity is okay and she claims she is. Meanwhile, Irene is badgering Xander about doing a drinks package with Salt. Xander says they can do it but he’d have to ask Mackenzie about the cost. John tries to take Irene to task over her treatment of him but Irene cuts the conversation short when Harper and Dana come in, and again tries to get Harper to follow her lawyer’s advice. Harper refuses. Dana agrees with her while Irene’s there but afterwards chides Harper for not taking the out and suggests they find out exactly what Irene’s priors are.

Felicity notices an e-mail from Xander and learns he’s now events manager. Mackenzie explains that he did the hens’ night well and she couldn’t face dealing with John again, apologising for not running it past Felicity. She comments that Felicity will soon be on maternity leave. Felicity notices they’re out of paper roll. Mackenzie goes to get some from the store room and knocks Feliciy’s bag down. Felicity comes in and sees her with the pills. Mackenzie hopes Felicity’s not doing what she thinks she’s doing.

Zara and Mali are saying their goodbyes outside the farm house. Zara tells Mali not to grow up too much.  As Rose appears, Mali and Zara hug goodbye and Zara tells Rose she’ll see her around. As Zara drives off, Mali confirms to Rose that she’s gone. Meanwhile, Felicity insists to Mackenzie that she’s just delaying things until she’s got her head round it. Mackenzie isn’t happy that she’s lying to Tane. Xander appears and tells them that there’s people at the bar, which Felicity uses as an excuse to leave.

John tries to stop Irene hassling Xander. Nearby, Dana is looking up Irene online and tells Harper it’s just local business and fundraisers, until she comes across a record of Irene being charged with grievous bodily harm. Irene overhears and numbly tells them not to believe everything they read. She heads into the kitchen and John follows her. Irene says she doesn’t need to see a lawyer to know she’s probably going to jail. John insists they go and see her.

Rose comments to Mali on how quiet it is now. Mali says she was a champion through all this and Rose agrees she managed not to murder him. She checks there aren’t any more surprise wives and Mali says none that he knows of. Meanwhile, Harper and Dana are walking through a park. Harper feels upset at how hurt Irene was and reminds Dana what someone will find if they look up her. Dana still wants to move out but Harper decides to follow another piece of her lawyer’s advice: In order to show they’re responsible citizens, they have to both get full-time jobs.

Mackenzie tells Xander to let Irene knows it’s an extra 10% before giving him the rest of the night off. She then challenges Felicity, who insists the pill is just to buy her time until she’s ready and that it’s the only way to make everyone happy. Mackenzie insists it’s not a solution but a lie and wants her to tell Tane.

Later, Tane comes in, Felicity having summoned him. Shooting a look at Mackenzie, Felicity asks to talk in private and doesn’t seem very reassured by his words.
