Dana is caught in the middle. Tane is troubled by the future. John gets no sympathy.
Extended Summary
John greets Tane on the beach and asks if he’s still going ahead with the land buy, which Tane says he is. John notes Tane hasn’t seemed happy the last few days. Tane brushes it off as having a lot of paperwork to do. Felicity turns up and suggests she and Tane go home, since they have a small “window of opportunity” before she starts work. Tane agrees, but without much enthusiasm.
Roo and Dana are going over the care plan. Dana agrees she can do food prep and says she can be back in an hour after going to check in with Harper. She notes it was recommended that Roo have someone with her 24/7 and there’s no-one there at night. Roo says she’ll be fine and Dana says she’s got a panic button. She asks if there’s a chance of making things up with Marilyn. Roo says Marilyn’s made some terrible decisioons and she needs to take a step back from her. Dana says she knows what it’s like when someone close to you lets you down.
Tane and Felicity arrive home and kiss, only to be interrupted by Cash awkwardly shuffling past them. He explains Eden’s with Remi and he didn’t want to get under their feet. Exasperated, Felicity goes to get ready for work. Cash wants to go to Salt with her for something to do.
Dana heads home and tells Irene and Harper that things went well with Roo, although there was tension between her and Marilyn. She notices that Harper’s looking at job ads. Harper says she has a personality difference with her boss. Dana suspects it’s because of her and says people are being affected by helping her. Irene heads off to work, looking uncomfortable.
At the coffee cart, John complains to Marilyn about being expected to do something, saying the committee didn’t even ask him or have a meeting, they just had Gerald ring him up and tell him. Marilyn isn’t interested. Irene turns up and John tells her he’s expected to organise an event to celebrate Alf’s long service. Irene isn’t particularly interested either. Marilyn asks about Dana, and Irene notes she mentioned tension between Marilyn and Roo. She also tells John people have other things to worry about. Meanwhile, Dana arrives back at the caravan park house and finds Roo in tears.
Cash talks with Tane about the plan to go with the flow. Felicity appears and refuses to let Cash come with her, saying she’ll be working. She sends him to take the bins out, then tells Tane he’ll have to “babysit” Cash. Later, Cash gueses that Tane’s been told to keep him occupied and notes he can’t do anything about his suspension while it’s still under review. When he tries to ask Tane about what’s bothering him, Tane decides they will go to Salt after all.
Roo tells Dana that she’s got what she wanted, Marilyn out of the house, and thinks it’s for the best: Marilyn keeps making mistakes and they keep forgiving her because they love her, with the latest mistake nearly having landed Roo in a wheelchair. However, she admits she misses her. At Salt, Harper chats to Felicity about losing her job while Dana has landed on her feet. Felicity gives her a drink on the house. Cash and Tane turn up and Felicity tells Tane he had one job. Tane promises they’ll keep out of the way and goes to sit in the lounge area. Cash takes a question about whether Felicity should be worried about him to mean she’s worried about Tane, but covers. He invites Harper to join them.
Irene and Marilyn are packing up the coffee cart. John joins them and wonders if he’ll get his head bitten off again. He suspects Irene is worried about what the lawyer said. Dana turns up and tells Marilyn she’s not going to spy on Roo for her, but also says Roo needs a friend. Roo is at home when Marilyn turns up, saying she’s there to collect the rest of her things. However, she also tells her what Dana said. Not happy about being talked about, Roo tells Marilyn to stay there while she calls Dana and finds out what this is about.
Cash encourages Harper to talk to her HR department but Harper claims she doesn’t want to go back and points out they’ve both stayed there for their sisters. Tane agrees that you do things you don’t want to for those you love. Felicity brings some food over. Tane says they were talking about Harper’s job issues and Felicity gives words of encouragement.
Roo says Dana betrayed her trust. Dana accepts she crossed a line but says she was trying to fix things. Marilyn says it was her fault and admits to asking Dana to spy on Roo, saying she’s hurt her again. Roo and Dana confirm that the latter still has a job. Marilyn says she’ll give Roo the space she wants and leaves. Roo doesn’t seem too happy about this.
Irene serves John a meal at the Diner. He encourages her to sit with him and reminds her the lawyer told her not to worry. Irene says the lawyer also said to call her if she gets arrested. John says it might not happen. He then asks her opinion on his brainstorming for Alf’s event, showing her his ideas. Meanwhile, Cash tells Harper that work isn’t everything. Felicity passes them and notes that he’s in denial. Tane arrives with more drinks but Cash and Harper both want to slow down. Tane points out neither of them have work in the morning. Harper decides to head home. Cash follows her to return her phone and tells her he’ll keep an eye on Tane. He then asks Tane to talk to him.
Felicity runs into Harper downstairs as she’s leaving and they discuss how Cash is doing. Harper asks if everything’s okay with Tane, saying he was drinking a lot and said some things that made her worry. Upstairs on the balcony, Tane tells Cash he thought he could live with Felicity’s decision not to have kids but worries they’re missing out on something. Cash guesses he hasn’t spoken to Felicity. Felicity turns up and Cash leaves her and Tane alone. Felicity asks Tane what’s going on.
