Extended Summary

Tane and Felicity come across Remi busking outside the surf club. Felicity tries to get Tane to dance with her, then ends up dancing on a table. Rose and Bree come out of the surf club during the session, exchanging awkward looks with Remi. Remi announces he’s taking a break and Felicity encourages the crowd to pay up so Remi will have money to spend in her bar. She invites Remi for a coffee. Later, up in Salt, Tane and Felicity try to talk to a subdued Remi about their wedding plans. Felicity says Lyrik will play. Remi agrees but then abruptly leaves. Tane encourages Felicity to go after him.

At the Morgan house, Justin asks Ava what she thought she was doing getting in a van with a stranger. Leah interjects that everyone’s home and safe. Justin asks her and Roo to give them space. Roo says she’ll be a phone call away and Leah tells him to go easy. Alone, Justin asks Ava why she lied. Ava says she doesn’t know and walks out of the room. Leah and Roo go to the Diner. Leah complains that Justin doesn’t seem to grasp what he’s done. Roo says Ava was upset last night and hopes Justin isn’t too hard on her. Leah wishes he’d woken up to her sooner.

Rose and Bree are sunbathing on the beach. Bree says she’s booked the termination for tomorrow. Rose offers to go with her if she needs someone. She also thinks Remi would support her if she asked him but Bree thinks it’’s better this way. She recalls Rose has to go to work and Rose leaves her. Meanwhile, Felicity turns up at the Lyrik house and finds Remi strumming his guitar. He is relucant to talk to her and points out she only had to come across the street. Felicity persists. Remi admits nothing’s going on and it’s doing his head in, talking about Bree dumping him out of the blue and seeing him with another woman, which isn’t what she thought. Felicity wonders why she was there if she told him to stay away.

Tane is finishing a class as Felicity joins him. She assures him she’s not going to get too involved with Remi. Meanwhile, Ava appears with her bags and tells Justin she’s going back to Nina’s. Justin continues to ask why she did everything she did. Ava says she wanted someone to put her first for once. Justin says he’d come if she was in danger and Ava says she doesn’t know him.

Remi turns up at the Diner flat. Rose tells him Bree isn’t home and asks him to give her some space. She claims not to know why Bree came to see him and suggests he stick to the boundaries. Down in the Diner, Leah tells Irene and Roo that she’s both furious with Justin and scared he’ll go to jail. They sympathise with Ava witnessing it. Roo offers to find a lawyer. Irene takes an order from Bree and tells her that Remi was in there looking for her. Rose comes in while they’re talking and says he came to the flat and she told him to stay away. Bree says that’s okay.

Ava tells Justin he wasn’t there when she learned to ride a bike or started school or had her first football game. Justin reminds her that he had no choice but Ava says that ended years ago. She says his little girl’s gone so he should stop treating her like a child and trying to protect her. Justin says if that’s what she wants, she needs to get in the car.

They head to the police station and meet up with Rose. Justin asks her to tell Ava what’s going to happen. Rose explains about Justin being charged and how a magistrate will have to decide on his punishment. Ava protests that it only happened because she lied. Justin says he still did what he did.

Felicity runs into Remi at the surf club but he just curtly says that people keep telling him to stay away from Bree. Tane watches the conversation from a distance and advises Felicity to stay out of it. They guess that Eden must be back if Remi is and wonder if they’re going to hear from her and Cash. Later, Remi arrives home and finds Bree waiting outside. She says she heard he was looking for her and they need to talk.

Leah and Roo look over the list of lawyers. Leah says it’s all she can do to help and remarks to Irene that she can’t see Justin building a relationship with Ava. She thinks Nina won’t let Ava see Justin in prison. Irene and Roo try to argue that might not happen but Leah says Justin has no defence and also asks when Ava will take responsibility. Meanwhile, Justin and Ava arrive home. Ava apologises and says she’ll apologise to Theo and Kirby too. Leah arrives as Justin says they both have to take responsibility for their actions. Ava agrees to stay for a while. Justin hugs her and exchanges a look with Leah.

At Salt, Felicity finishes a phone call with Mackenzie and expresses concern to Tane about her being away: They are confused about Gabe not doing chemo. Felicity says neither Cash nor Eden are answering her calls and she doesn’t want to walk in on them again. Tane says they had their chance. He gets down on one knee and asks Felicity to marry him. Felicity says they already did that. Tane says he means tomorrow, on the beach. Felicity agrees.

Remi and Bree sit in awkward silence until Remi comments that they’re really bad at staying away from each other. He tells her that nothing happened with the woman she saw: He was trying to move on but it’ll never happen. He then asks why she came over. Bree admits she was going to tell him she’s pregnant.
