Can Remi give his nightmare his blessing. Ziggy struggles to connect with her baby.
Extended Summary
Theo and Kirby playfully chase each other on the beach. Theo asks after Remi. Kirby gets a DM from Theo’s fan asking if he liked the doughnuts. Theo has to confess about the doughnuts turning up at his house and how he blocked her; Kirby does the same. They then get a text from Justin wanting the band to meet up…or what’s left of them.
At the Morgan house, Justin is expressing shock at Leah going to Cyprus when she hasn’t even gone back to work but Leah says the doctor has given it the okay. She encourages Justin to come with her but he doesn’t want to leave Theo in charge of the garage. Theo and Kirby arrive and Justin tells them about Mackenzie’s idea to perform Lyrik as a duo. They initially refuse but Justin argues Lyrik’s following might not hang around until the others are back and Theo sees his point.
Dean tries to talk Ziggy out of her belief that the baby hates her, saying babies crying is normal. Ziggy says she feels tired and useless and hasn’t had the moment where your baby looks at you and you feel like a mum. The baby starts crying and Dean suggests Ziggy go for a walk. She agrees to a hot bath instead. Later, Dean is on the phone to someone when Ziggy comes back. He asks her if she’ll be all right on her own, because he has to pick some things up in Yabbie Creek. As soon as he’s gone, Ziggy hears the baby crying over the monitor. She begs her to stop but ends up having to go to her.
Kirby and Theo arrive back at Lyrik’s house but Remi isn’t home. Theo argues Justin is right. Kirby doesn’t want Remi to think they’re giving up on him and says the band is all he has left. She makes it clear she won’t do anything Remi and Eden aren’t okay with. By the beach, Remi gets a text from Kirby asking how he is and to talk. Nearby, Mackenzie and Gabe discuss the lack of news from Justin. They see Remi, and Mackenzie formally introduces him and Gabe to each other. Gabe goes to get a gelato. Mackenzie asks Remi about his second operation and wonders if he’s spoken to Justin before saying goodbye.
Theo suggests to Kirby that he does some guitar solos but Kirby wants to talk to Remi first. Remi comes home at that point and Kirby puts the idea of her and Theo performing as a duo to him. Remi refuses point blank, refusing to discuss it and going to his room. Later, Kirby joins him, saying she’s worried about him and doesn’t want to do this but her savings are used up and she’s having to work at the Diner to pay the bills. She makes it clear she won’t do it if he’s not okay with it.
Dean meets up with Mackenzie outside the surf club and shows her the selection of breast pumps he has in the boot of his car, including a battery operated one, a rechargeable one and one you have to do yourself. He asks which one is suitable for Ziggy. Mackenzie admits she doesn’t know and suggests he should have taken Ziggy with him. Dean admits he didn’t think of that.
Dean takes the pumps home to Ziggy, explaining the midwife suggested she express some milk so he can help out with the night-time feeds. Ziggy is open to the idea but has no idea how they work either, suggesting they need one with instructions.
Leah and Justin walk near the coffee cart. Leah again tries to get Justin to come with her, saying he could visit Tori and Grace in London and get to know VJ better, but he says the garage and the band need him. They run into Theo and Kirby who say Remi said no; Eden wasn’t happy but accepted it. Justin suggests they have the majority vote but neither Theo nor Kirby wants to go ahead without Remi’s agreement, which Justin accepts.
Dean is tending to the baby as Ziggy returns with the milk, saying it felt weird. Dean notes he could hear it. He takes the bottle and starts trying to feed the baby. Ziggy worries she’ll never sleep again if it doesn’t work. The baby eventually starts feeding and Dean says Ziggy can get some rest. Ziggy still looks unhappy though.
Mackenzie brings Gabe some free lunch on the balcony at Salt. Gabe warns her about giving away free meals, saying she should stop doing it with Dean too, but Mackenzie points out Gabe used to give her three meals. Remi appears and guesses Mackenzie asked Theo and Kirby to play without him. Mackenzie argues that Kirby is carrying everything and this could help all of them, encouraging him to think about it.
Ziggy comes out with more milk while Dean is napping. He says she can sleep whenever she wants now. Ziggy says they’re lucky to have him. She puts the milk in the fridge and Dean says he’ll take a shower while the baby’s sleeping. Ziggy agrees but looks scared as she stares over at the baby.
Leah tells Justin and Theo that she’s done a big shop and Justin promises they won’t live off takeaway this time. Kirby comments about doing Leah’s shifts at the Diner. Remi turns up and says he shouldn’t have treated them the way they did and they should do the gigs. Theo suggests he help them arrange it but Remi says he’s going to see his parents for a couple of days. Meanwhile, Dean reappears to find the baby crying and no sign of Ziggy. He checks the other rooms and calls outside for her.
At Salt, Justin has told Mackenzie and Gabe that Remi has agreed and they’ll do the gig at the weekend. Gabe worries there’s not enough time to promote it and Justin says they can sort it on social media. Gabe offers to help Mackenzie with the organising. Justin heads downstairs and bumps into Dean, who is looking for Ziggy. Justin checks Dean drove there and wonders how Ziggy could get there. Dean says he’s already checked the roads around the house and she’s not answering her phone. Justin says he’ll call him if he sees her. Dean leaves Ziggy a message asking where she is and saying he’s going out of his mind.
