Episode 7875

Extended Summary

Leah is preparing to head out to work, having been called in to cover for Marilyn. Justin jokingly asks if she minds him watching the next episode of a series without her, before saying he’s going to watch the footy. However, no sooner has she walked out the door, then Leah gets a call from Irene saying Marilyn’s turned up. Justin makes a futile attempt to get her to watch the footy with him but she wants to see what the wife does with the meat cleaver after finding her husband lying.

At the Diner, Marilyn is obsessively cleaning a table. John comes in and tells Irene he was thinking of her chocolate mud cake but Irene isn’t really listening, continuing to stare at Marilyn. John asks if there’s something wrong with Marilyn but Irene says there isn’t.

Xander is unpacking food at the police station. Rose has noticed the conversation about Cash so Xander clicks on it for her. Among chat about girlfriends and prison, Rose sees that the bikies know it was Cash that shot their president and have ordered a hit on him. Later, at Salt, Xander asks Rose what she’s going to do. Rose says it’s an ongoing investigation. Xander wants her to tell Cash but Rose thinks it would just scare him and Felicity and he’s not strong enough to cope. She says she’ll talk to the head of the taskforce. Xander worries something could happen to Cash that she could have stopped.

John turns up at the surf club loading bay where Nikau is closing up. He offers him someone to talk to. Nikau asks if John’s spoken to Marilyn, saying she did something that wasn’t like her today. He tells John about Marilyn having a go at Heather and then shouting at him when he stepped in. John wants to hear more.

At the Diner, Irene tells Marilyn she can go but Marilyn insists on staying. Roo turns up and offers to walk Marilyn home. Marilyn says she’ll be a while yet and, when Roo says she’ll wait, bluntly says she doesn’t want her to. She thinks Roo’s only doing it to stop her going to see Heather and accuses her of not trusting her.

Cash and Nikau are at the Parata house. Cash checks he isn’t the reason Nikau hasn’t been home much lately. There’s a knock at the door and they both tense up. Nikau cautiously answers it to find Rose. He leaves her and Cash to talk, and Cash takes Rose out the back since Tane and Felicity are in bed. Rose says she knows Cash asked for space but tells him about the bikies’ hit. Without showing any emotion, Cash thanks her and asks her to see herself out.

Next morning, John and Nikau are chatting at the surf club when Marilyn appears with muffins for Nikau to apologise for having a go at him before. She wants John to leave them. John protests they were in the middle of something but Nikau tells him to go. Marilyn wants to talk to Nikau in private. Nikau points out he’s still working but Marilyn says to just give John a muffin to keep him happy and that she wants to know everything Nikau knows about Heather.

At the Diner, Roo tells Irene that she thought she and Marilyn were making progress but Marilyn went to bed as soon as she got back and was gone before she got up. Roo goes to open the bait shop. Nearby, Xander and Rose chat about Cash’s reaction. Irene comes over as Rose heads to work and Xander says to call him if anything happens. Irene presses him for information and he says it was just about the bikie case.

Rose arrives at the police station and finds Cash there looking at a file. Cash takes her into a room and asks how she knows. Rose tells him about the communications being monitored and having access to the site where it’s logged. Cash wants to see it. Rose protests, wondering how he even got there and saying she just wanted him to be careful, but Cash insists he needs to know the details.

Nikau and Marilyn are walking through a park. Marilyn pesters him for information about Heather, asking if she’s ever done anything strange or said anything about her family. Nikau says he doesn’t really know her that well and Marilyn snipes at him for sleeping with someone he hardly knows so soon after Bella. She storms off and snaps at Leah and Justin when they come along, leaving all three of them bemused.

At the police station, Cash is looking over the transcript as Rose brings him a hot drink. He says he’s been threatened lots of times but seeing it in black and white is different. Rose suggests the taskforce could give him protection but Cash says he’s not a witness. He asks her not to tell Felicity and reflects on his life being worth $10,000.

Nikau arrives back at the surf club and tells John that Marilyn had a go at him again, asking questions about Heather. John says to leave it with him and there are people better suited to help her. At the Diner, he briefs Irene, Leah, Justin and Roo, with Leah and Justin backing up that Nikau and Marilyn had words. Roo wonders if Marilyn’s medication needs reviewing again but someone needs to talk to her. John rules himself out and Roo says they always argue. Justin says it’s definitely not him and Irene makes frantic gestures to the negative, leaving Leah.

Rose shows Cash out of the station. They briefly run into Xander and Rose tells him about Cash wanting to see the transcript. They decide to go for lunch. Later, as they walk by the beach, Rose notes Cash looked defeated. She says she’s messaged the person in charge of the taskforce and they haven’t got back to her.

John arrives back at the surf club and promises Nikau that someone will talk to Marilyn. Nikau says she made him feel guilty for spending time with Heather. John says not to take it to heart. Meanwhile, Leah knocks on the door of the caravan park house and asks Marilyn what happened with Nikau. Marilyn refuses to let her in and talk, saying she bought Nikau some muffins and apologised and she’s entitled to her privacy. Later, Marilyn comes downstairs and finds Leah and Roo waiting for her. She tries to walk past them but they block her way, calling it an intervention.

Rose arrives back at the Diner flat. Xander asks what’s going on. Rose says the task force have got extra officers to monitor the communications, including her: Either they’ll identify the gang members or the case will go to court. Xander warns her to look after herself as well. She answers a phone call from the task force.

Marilyn says she just asked Nikau a few questions. Leah says she upset him and Marilyn retorts that he shouldn’t be so sensitive. Roo says Marilyn’s been targeting Heather. Marilyn insists it’s the other way round and searches her bag for the photograph without finding it. Roo says it doesn’t prove anything. Marilyn snaps at Roo who decides to leave.
