Extended Summary

Jasmine arrives at the caravan park: Xander has offered her a lift into work, although only because he’s going in anyway to see Millie. Jasmine asks if she’s had grief counselling. Xander says she’s refused it and won’t even see her family. Jasmine calls him an excellent human being but warns him to be careful. Meanwhile, Justin and Leah arrive home. Justin suggests they go to a hotel for the night. Leah tells him to forget about it but Justin is determined to prove he can still be romantic and spontaneous. He says he’s going to pour her a glass of wine and cook her a meal…but as they go to kiss, he notices his guitar is missing and starts searching for it. Leah pours herself a glass of wine.

Roo and Martha are meditating outside the caravan park house. Roo suggests they think of their intention for the day, and their state of mind. Alf, who has wandered up and got a hose ready, warns them of sunstroke. Roo retorts he’d spend all day on the boat and you’re meant to do it in the middle of the day like in India. Alf splashes them with the hose, saying it’s monsoon season. Meanwhile, Jasmine and Xander arrive at the hospital. Jasmine finds Logan in a heated phone conversation. She offers to get him a coffee but he says he’s too busy. Xander finds Millie, who has had her chest drain removed. He notices some flowers but she says she can’t bring herself to read the card. She wishes she could talk to Jo again. Xander says he felt the same about his dad. Millie says he’s the only person that understands but he wasn’t responsible for his father’s death.

Justin is now wondering if Theo took the guitar for money. Leah says he’d better be saying Theo’s busking. Justin admits he’s saying Theo stole and sold it but not maliciously, just to buy something for Chloe. Theo arrives back with the guitar and says he didn’t steal it, just borrowed it, and is sorry he didn’t ask. Leah asks why when he doesn’t play. Theo says he does, just not for a while. Later, they quiz him about it. Theo says Dimitri thought music was a waste of time. With a bit of pushing, he admits he saved up for a guitar but Dimitri smashed and burnt it. He promises not to touch Justin’s guitar again. Justin asks how playing again felt and Theo admits it was amazing.

Jasmine brings Logan discharge papers and coffee in his office. Logan admits what Cash said about him speeding and that it might be enough to charge him. Later, they go for a drink in Salt. Logan asks who she thought was at fault when she got there and Jasmine admits she didn’t think about it. She tries to cheer him up, saying he was in an unfamiliar car. Logan can’t get over the fact that, after years of saving lives, he may have killed someone. He leaves.

Next morning, Roo and Martha pass Alf in the caravan park on the way to their morning walk. They pass Jasmine, who is looking for Xander and says she texted him to invite him for a run. Xander didn’t see and is on his way to see Millie. Jasmine warns him about getting too involved. Meanwhile, Marilyn brings Roo and Martha drinks at the coffee cart. Roo asks if Leah’s okay and Marilyn admits she’s in a mood. Roo goes over to help her. Leah reflects that she keeps finding out more things about Dimitri.

Justin greets Theo and tells him that Ziggy’s agreed to cover at the garage. He presents Theo with a second guitar, saying it was in storage outside and he’s had it restrung. He says this house doesn’t think music’s a waste of time and encourages Theo to play. Back at the coffee cart, Leah and Roo discuss how Theo keeps getting put down by memories of Dimitri. They see Alf sit with Martha, and Roo offers to help Marilyn out there while Leah goes home. Leah agrees. Roo asks Alf to finish Martha’s walk with her. Marilyn comments on how cute the pair are.

Logan sees Millie failing to eat her meal. He asks if she remembers anything else about the accident and what her memories are. Millie can remember that morning and possibly Jo laughing. She breaks down in tears as Xander comes in, saying she’d tell him more if she could. Logan says he was just testing her memory. Xander tells him to go. Later, Xander accosts Logan and tells him to back off from Millie. Logan argues he doesn’t need permission to check up on a patient. Xander says Millie’s refusing to see her friends and family. Logan looks guilty and says to tell her he’s sorry for everything.

Justin and Theo finish a session together. Justin starts another tune and Theo, with a bit of help from Justin, sings “Cry in Shame”. Leah comes in during the performance and applauds them, echoing Justin’s words that Theo can play whenever he wants. She offers to buy him a new guitar but Theo says he likes this one and Justin says it’s his. They play again. Later, Leah thanks Justin, who notes Theo needs to get past his trust issues. Leah tells him that his investment in her family is worth more than flowers or dinners and they kiss.

Jasmine meets Xander at the surf club and offers him a juice. Xander says he caught Logan pestering Millie for information about the accident. Jasmine tries to suggest it was just him being a doctor, before admitting in confidence that the police think the accident might have been Logan’s fault. Xander goes back to the hospital and finds Millie’s room empty and her gown discarded.
