Extended Summary

Bella and Emmett follow Sienna down the stairs from Salt. Emmett tries to get her to sign a release form while Bella protests that Sienna only knows Nikau exists because of her. Nikau comes in and they explain what’s going on. Emmett calls it a power trip and Sienna says she’ll be outside if anyone wants to discuss it calmly. Nikau awkwardly notes he needs to tell Bella something. Meanwhile, outside the bait shop, Alf tells Roo that Kieran coming will happen over his dead body and this is the last thing Martha needs. Martha arrives in time to overhear the last bit and asks what’s going on.

At the hospital, Jasmine is on the phone to Dean saying Mackenzie isn’t there. Rachel appears and Jasmine notes she’s a long way from her new ward. Rachel says she decided to go for a walk and asks if Christian’s been around. Jasmine confirms he’s been working and Rachel says she thought he might be ill. Jasmine offers to tell him Rachel was looking for him. Meanwhile, Bella and Nikau are walking near the beach. Nikau apologises for Sienna’s reaction but Bella says it’s not his fault. Emmett joins them and says Sienna won’t budge. However, he thinks they’ve got time for Bella to take more great photos. Bella isn’t so sure but agrees to look over what they’ve got.

Alf and Roo have explained to Martha about Kieran. They talk to each other about how she’s feeling, prompting Martha to say she needs a minute away from them. She goes into the Diner and talks to Marilyn, saying Alf and Roo were treating her like a child and she got better so she’d be able to make her own decisions. She admits she’s confused about her feelings for Kieran.

Bella, Nikau and Emmett look over her photos in the flat but Emmett and Bella both admit they’re not very promising. Nikau tries to get Bella to commit to taking some more, saying she can’t let Sienna win. Much later, Bella explains to Nikau that she doesn’t feel anything but Nikau continues to give her encouragement until she agrees to try. He offers to help, and Emmett offers to hold lights, but Bella says she’ll try it on her own. After Bella’s gone, Nikau wonders why Sienna’s doing it. Emmett says Sienna likes to be in control and this is her way of saying she owns Nikau. Nikau gets a text from Sienna wanting to meet for dinner.

Jasmine finds Rachel sitting around waiting. They chat briefly but Rachel really lights up when Christian appears. She invites him for a coffee and Christian agrees. He invites Jasmine to join them but she declines. Later, Christian and Rachel return. Rachel asks about Tori and Christian admits they’re spending some time apart. Jasmine cuts in, asking to discuss a patient with Christian. Rachel leaves and Christian gets an emergency page. Jasmine says she’ll deal with the patient.

Martha joins Alf and Roo outside the bait shop. She says they’re right: Dealing with Kieran would be too stressful right now. However, she insists she needs to make her own decisions. She and Alf go for a walk on the pier. Alf promises to do better before asking if they should go home. Martha says she wants to go to Merimbula and invites Alf to come with her.

Nikau meets Sienna at Salt. Before he can say much of anything, Sienna announces that a major Japanese client wants him and Allegra over there for a three month contract. Nikau is delighted but asks her to let Bella use the photos. Sienna replies that she knows what she’s doing: If he wants to help Bella and his family, then with this job he’ll be able to buy them a house each. Nikau heads back to the flat where Bella and Emmett are looking at her photos despondently. Emmett suggests they try again tomorrow but Bella heads off to her room. Emmett guesses that Sienna offered Nikau a job, saying the carrot follows the stick, but is impressed at him getting an international contract.

Christian runs into Rachel again, who says she’s learned where to find the best snacks. She invites him to come and eat them with her. Jasmine again watches them and asks to talk to Christian. He assures her there’s nothing to worry about with Rachel and says they understand each other. Next morning, Marilyn and Roo are saying goodbye to Alf and Martha outside the Diner. Alf notes Roo has the bait shop under control. As they leave, Marilyn asks Roo what she’s going to do about Kieran and Roo says nothing.

Christian approaches Jasmine to clear the air but Jasmine isn’t sure Rachel feels the same as him. Rachel appears in a panic, wanting the brace removed. Christian manages to calm her and says they’ll get her back to her room, with Jasmine bringing a wheelchair. Meanwhile, Nikau meets Sienna on the balcony at Salt. He tells her that he’ll take the Japan contract if she agrees to Bella using the photographs. Sienna says that sounds like an ultimatum but Nikau says if the exhibition is as small time as she says, it wouldn’t make a difference.

Christian calms Rachel and suggests he takes out of for a day, asking Jasmine to organise a pass. Jasmine agrees, then rings Tori and says there’s something she needs to talk to her about.
