Ziggy worries about Justin’s mood swings. Concerns for Dean after discovering he is now aware that Ziggy and Tane are living together. Ari discovers what Tane has been doing at work.

Extended Summary

Tane arrives home from his last day at work. Ziggy tells him not to sit on the couch in his work clothes but he does anyway, pointing out she often sits on it in her overalls. Ziggy refuses to go near him until he has a shower but he convinces her to join him: They exit the room, undressing. At the Diner, Irene and Justin discuss the amount of paperwork involved in running a small business. Leah calls over that she’s raised $1500 on her crowdfunder. Justin subtly reminds her that she’s meant to be doing the books and quietly confirms to Irene that he’s still biting his tongue. Marilyn tells Justin to pass on her thanks to Brody for arranging accommodation to the wedding. He notes that despite a minor emergency over Grace’s flower girl dress Tori has been pretty calm about the arrangements.

Mia is picking at her meal and admits to Ari that she is still worried about Dean. She says she thought Bella would have told him but accepts she’s been busy and might not have wanted to break bad news. Ari says he’ll text Tane to let him know and ends up being convinced to check on Dean as well. He goes to the flat but there’s no answer at the door. He looks through the window: The beer bottle is still visible on the table but there are no signs of life. He leaves Dean a message saying to call him.

Ziggy and Tane come back into the living area, both less than fully dressed. Ziggy searches the fridge for something to eat and Tane notes they need to go grocery shopping some time. He gets a text from Ari and initially tries to dismiss it before telling her Dean knows about them and Ari wanted to know if they’ve heard from him. Ziggy dismisses it as no big deal. Next morning, Mia wakes up to find Ari getting dressed for work. She wonders about Dean; Ari says he didn’t come home or respond to his message. Mia wonders how she should act when she sees him and Ari says she’ll know if he’s angry. Mia says she’ll get dressed and Ari can walk her into work.

Justin runs into Ziggy outside the surf club and asks her to look after the garage while he’s at the wedding, saying they’ll look at the job sheet later. Ziggy asks if he’s seen Dean since he isn’t at work or home. She asks the same of Ari and Mia. Ari admits Dean wasn’t at home and Mia admits she told him. Ziggy angrily says she wishes she hadn’t, noting one day Dean won’t come back. In the gym, Tane is pumping weights when Ari and Mia turn up; Ari asks Tane to have a word with Ziggy, saying she just had a go at Mia and is worried about Dean. After he’s gone, Mia notes she has a lot to learn about the town. Ari then gets a call from Dean.

Tane runs into Ziggy, who asks about Mia and wants to apologise. She admits she feels guilty about the effect their relationship has had on Dean, saying she should have told him what was going on. Tane says that what Ziggy and Dean had is history. Ziggy says he’s still a mate and Tane says he needs to find other mates. Ari arrives and tells them that Dean’s fine: He’s gone to Movie World with Jai and Amber. Ziggy relaxes and heads off to work. At the Morgan house, Justin is taking another pill while Leah announces the crowdfunder has raised $5000 and her hope in humanity is restored. Justin examines the to do list that Tori has left them. Leah tells him to make sure he has enough painkillers for the trip. Justin looks as though he hadn’t thought of that but says he has.

Justin arrives at the garage where Ziggy admits she was late but says she’ll work back. She asks if he wants to go over the job list but Justin, who has been giving brief and abrupt answers throughout, tells her to get on with other work. He looks up medical centres on the computer and writes down numbers. Later, Ziggy gives Justin the list of jobs she has booked in to do but Justin doesn’t really seem to be paying attention and just checks she can handle it. Ziggy asks about his change of mood since that morning but Justin tells her to just get on with her job. He takes a blister packet out of his pocket but it is empty; he looks lost.

Tane is helping Mia set up a class. He notes that Ziggy wanted to apologise but is still slightly bothered by how invested she is in Dean. Mia ponders that the site might have kept him on but Tane says they were probably glad to see the back of him. To underline the point, Ari appears and good-naturedly has a go at Tane for the pranks he was pulling, including nailing Griffo’s tool box to the bench and putting corn in the papers, as well as telling them Ari didn’t get off training wheels until he was ten (at which point, Ari points out, Tane was still in nappies). Later, Ari is buying Mia fish and chips outside the surf club. Tane appears with the dumb-bells he’s been sorting out and notes that what Ari considers punishment, he considers a workout. Ari refuses to let him take any food and privately admits to Mia that, for all his pranks, the site people said Tane did a good job. Mia says when Dean gets back they should ask him round, because she wants to get to know Ari’s friends. Tane returns, saying the clients at the gym are hungry… and takes the food.

Irene brings Alf a cup of tea at the bait shop and Alf guesses Roo asked her to keep an eye on him. He says he’s run the bait shop on his own before and it’s only temporary. As Leah appears, Alf gets a call saying the plumber hasn’t turned up and leaves. At the garage, Justin is ringing round the centres but no-one is willing to do what he wants and leave him a prescription without an appointment. When Ziggy asks for his help with a gear box, he snaps at her to do the job.

At the Diner, Leah is leaving Justin a message wondering why she hasn’t heard from him. Irene and Marilyn discuss how overrun Alf is and wonder if they can get someone to step in for Nikau. They ask Leah her opinion. Distracted, she tells them she hasn’t been able to get hold of Justin. At the garage, Ziggy hears Justin yelling outside: He is on the phone getting increasingly irate as his latest number refuses to do what he wants/ He ends up throwing a mug to the ground in anger, smashing it, then turns round and realises Ziggy has seen him.
