Extended Summary

Dean and Ziggy arrive at Salt and meet Justin. Ziggy expresses her condolences about Mason. Dean adds Robbo, before going to get a beer. Jasmine storms through from the balcony. Colby tells Mackenzie he’s going to make sure she gets home. He catches up with her near the Diner flat. Jasmine doesn’t believe it’s a coincidence that Robbo and Scott died the day of the hospital siege. Colby says they’ll talk in the morning.

Ziggy tells Justin her experience on the racing circuit was a whirlwind but she’s back now and can help out at the garage. Justin says it’s not on his radar right now and invites her to the memorial. Ziggy thought it was just family. Justin says he still considers her family and John, Marilyn, Willow and Alex are all going as well, but it’s halfway between there and Brody and Raffy’s place. He says there’s a place for her in the car if she wants it and leaves her to think about it. At the bar, Dean assumes Mackenzie is worried about Colby because she still likes him but she insists they’re just friends. Ziggy comes over and says she’s heading home, cancelling her dinner plans with Dean.

At the farm house, Ben finishes a call with Alf and tells Maggie Alf wants his help with something secret for the wedding. Ziggy goes home and tells them about the memorial, admitting she feels sick about seeing Brody and Simone there. She says she hasn’t spoken to Dean because she doesn’t think he needs to hear about her baggage.

Colby is sat in the living area of the Diner flat when Jasmine appears. He wonders if she’s hungry but she says she’s too wired. She starts to say something but then Mackenzie appears with a pizza. Jasmine declines to join them and heads to bed. Colby assures Mackenzie she’s welcome and notes the pizza’s his favourite.

At the hospital, Bella asks Alex if she can go home. Alex says they’ll discuss that tomorrow when Colby’s there. Bella wants to check on him and Jasmine after the day they’ve had. Dean turns up with a pizza and jokingly threatens to take it away when she asks if Colby’s there. She also notes it’s her favourite.

Next morning, Colby is in bed and suddenly notices Jasmine standing in the doorway. She reminds him he promised they could talk tomorrow. Later, over breakfast, Jasmine is unhappy that Colby expects her to accept she’s safe without having any questions answered. He gets a call from the hospital and says he has to pick up Bella.

When Colby arrives, Bella bombards him with questions about him, Jasmine and the funeral. Colby tells her she can come home and she notes she was worried she’d be in that dump another night. Colby dryly says she means to thank Alex for saving her life. Alex gets Bella to promise to engage with counselling. Bella tells Colby there’s somewhere she wants to go first.

Soon after, Bella is with Dean, Ziggy and Colby at Salt. Mackenzie comes over and Bella thanks her for the pizza, guessing it was her idea. Ziggy walks away from the table and Dean follows her to the bar, realising there’s something on her mind. Ziggy says they’ll talk later. Bella and Colby return to the flat. Bella tries to put her sympathies to Jasmine but her babbling about how unfair it is causes Jasmine to leave, upset.

Colby follows Jasmine out onto the pier. She tells him she needs answers. Colby tells her that Des and Victor got to Scott and he was the one who killed Lance. Jasmine is shocked, since he was a friend who protected them. Colby says they threatened his family and the hospital siege was them doing the same to Robbo. He says they’re not allowed visitors or phone calls now and are watched 24/7, after he told the feds what Robbo said. Jasmine realises Robbo sent her away because he knew he was dying. Colby tells her to focus on him wanting her to live her life. Jasmine feels she had nothing left.

At the caravan park house, Alf shows Ben a picture. He says he made it for Martha when they first got married, but after she “died” he took an axe to it. He wants Ben to make another one. Even though he won’t have a lot of time, Ben readily agrees, saying they need something positive to focus on.

Dean and Ziggy arrive back at the farm house. Dean is bemused by Ziggy’s explanation, saying if she wants to be at the memorial she should go, and if she doesn’t want to see Brody and Simone then she shouldn’t. He adds that he doesn’t see the point of a memorial when the person won’t know about it. Ziggy is annoyed, telling him to go since she doesn’t want to fight. Dean didn’t realise they were fighting.

Dean goes to see Mackenzie, who understands why Ziggy doesn’t want to be there and also why she wants to say goodbye. Dean says he doesn’t see how it makes a difference, since the person’s still gone. Mackenzie comments that she can see why Ziggy blew up at him, saying she’s been thinking since the siege about how she’d want to be remembered and that he needs to support Ziggy saying goodbye.

Colby and Jasmine arrive back at the flat. Bella apologises for upsetting Jasmine. Jasmine understands Bella was trying to be nice but says she can’t promise she won’t cry again. Mackenzie turns up with a week’s supply of food. Jasmine agrees to eat with them after having a shower. Mackenzie comments on how she keeps turning up there. Colby says she keeps bringing food and thanks her for looking after them. At the farm house, Ziggy is telling Ben and Maggie she’s beginning to regret not going with Justin and wonders if she should go after them. Dean appears and says he thinks he can help.

Dean takes Ziggy down the pier and tells her that, with a bit of help from Mackenzie, he understands now. He takes a wreath out of his bag, saying the River Boys normally go out on their boards but Mason wasn’t a surfer. Ziggy says it’s perfect. Going to the water, she says Mason was a great person, a fantastic friend and a loving and supportive brother-in-law, and she’ll never forget that. She places the wreath on the water and watches it float away.

Ryder reflects on how he used to create cocktails at Salt and calls it a wasted skill. Alf says no skill is ever wasted. Ryder considers making a cocktail for the wedding. Alf agrees, so long as it doesn’t interfere with his other duties: He wants Ryder to be best man. Ryder stammers a yes, saying he won’t let him down.
