Extended Summary

Ian and Wendy look through the wedding photo album, apologising that they couldn’t be at the service and commenting on how much Jasmine has had to deal with. Robbo says they’re coping and it will all be over after the court case. Ian asks when he’s going to hand his police badge in and get on with his life. At the caravan park house, Martha comes home and Roo tells her Alf has gone out. Even though she cancelled lunch, Martha has brought something back for him and is upset he didn’t tell her he wouldn’t be there. Ryder comes through; Roo asks if he’s wearing a new shirt and Ryder says he’s had it a few hours. Roo wonders if it’s to do with a new caravan park resident. Martha is anxious that she can’t get hold of Alf and, to Roo’s bemusement, wonders if something has happened to him.

Ryder approaches Jade’s caravan and uses his phone as a mirror to check his hair…only for Jade to arrive from another direction, having just finished work. She asks if he’s stalking her and he says that he is but he’s not very good at it, hence standing in plain sight. He asks if she wants to spend time together; he swapped his shift and has the afternoon off. Jade agrees but says she has to shower first so he arranges to meet her on the beach. On the wharf, Justin thanks Leah for her support. Mason approaches but Leah intercepts him, saying Justin’s not ready to talk to him just now. Mason says he’s going to the meeting and Justin needs to hear what’s said but Leah stands her ground. Mason walks away, ringing someone and saying he needs to talk about Tori.

Robbo is making up some milk formula for Grace. Wendy asks how long she sleeps for and suggests Robbo doesn’t need to answer whenever she cries but Robbo isn’t prepared to do that. He gets a phone message and says he has to get out, asking Ian and Wendy to keep an eye on Grace and saying the bottle’s there if she wakes. Robbo meets Mason down on the beach. Mason explains the situation with Justin. He wonders if the doctors might want to send Tori to a specialist brain injury clinic: He can listen to them, but since Justin is down as Tori’s next of kin, he can’t make decisions. He worries the doctors will make decisions without them. Robbo says he’ll talk to Justin; Mason warns him he might have trouble getting him to listen and that they have to leave for the city in two hours.

Marilyn serves Mason a coffee in the Diner and discusses how Justin wouldn’t change his mind. Ryder comes in as Mason leaves and asks Marilyn for a picnic hamper. When she wonders who he’s sharing it with, he suggests he might just be hungry. Martha comes in anxious, saying she’s looked everywhere and not found Alf. Ryder doesn’t see the big deal but Martha insists she wants to know where he is. Ryder takes a step back and Martha leaves to keep looking. Shortly after, Ryder meets Jade on the page with the picnic. She calls it retro and takes a photo of it for her social media, saying she has 1200 followers.

Martha frets back at the house as Roo suggests Alf is probably fishing somewhere where there’s no reception. At that moment, Alf jovially enters and notes he’s got some fish. Roo is pleased but Martha is upset that he worried her. Alf asks Roo to give them a minute but Martha walks out, saying no-one understands. Alf follows her and Martha suggests it was a mistake to move in. Alf doesn’t think it was but says it is harder than what they expected. He recalls seeing her like this when she couldn’t get hold of Roo and says they’ll deal with it together.

Robbo meets Justin outside the surf club. Justin realises Robbo has been speaking to Mason and admits he’s scared of what he might be told about Tori. Robbo reminds Justin how not so long ago he found him in Salt unsure what to do and encouraged him to keep going. He says Justin needs to focus on Tori, not his own fears. Inside, Mason remarks to Alex that it looks like he’s going on his own and she tells him he can call her for advice. Justin then appears and apologises; he and Mason leave together.

Robbo arrives home and confirms he’s done. Wendy is rocking Grace on the couch, having given her the bottle. Ian convinces Robbo to go for a beer with him. Outside the caravan park house, Alex has joined Alf and Martha. Alf offers to leave them alone but Martha tells him to stay. She recalls that she used to see the local doctor on and off but thought she could do without in Summer Bay. Alex says she’ll put her in touch with the local support team and get her the same safety net here.

Ryder and Jade are finishing their picnic. Jade talks about her plan to be an online influencer and Ryder gives her encouragement. They kiss and she suggests they go back to hers. Ryder scoops up the picnic things and hurries after her. A short time later, as they approach her van, Ryder says he needs to get something from the house. Jade suggests they’ve got everything they need there, then realises he means it and lets him go. Roo comes over and introduces herself, suggesting Jade have dinner with them since she’s Ryder’s friend. Jade dismisses the concept as 1955 and says she doesn’t do family dinners. Roo says it’s not formal but Jade even more bluntly says she’s not interested and goes into her van.

Robbo and Ian are having a drink in Salt. Ian asks Robbo what his plans are; Robbo hasn’t thought beyond raising a newborn and the court case. Ian says Tori might not wake up and they can’t raise Grace in a small apartment forever. He suggests Robbo, Jasmine and Grace move to the farm: It’s a great place to grow up, Wendy would love having her granddaughter around and it’d get him away from the AFP and allow him to move on.
