Robbo struggles with his parents’ request. Ryder manages to salvage his night with Jade despite Roo’s meddling.
Extended Summary
Robbo and Ian are walking near the Diner. Ian continues to put forward the idea but Robbo says he and Jasmine have responsibilities in the Bay: He has a business and Jasmine has a job, plus there’s the Morgans. Ian says they can come and visit. Irene comes over and gets herself introduced to Ian. She asks a series of questions, getting polite but brief answers from Ian and nothing at all from Robbo, and suggests they come to the Diner for a free feed some time. Ian goes upstairs and Irene suggests it’s nice for Robbo to have family around. He gives a blunt yes before walking off. Later, Wendy is looking after Grace upstairs while Ian drops hints to Robbo about how good she is. Robbo goes to put Grace down for a nap. Ian tells Wendy it won’t be easy since Robbo and Jasmine have put down roots. Jasmine arrives and is pleased to see them. Ian suggests they take up Irene’s offer; Robbo says Grace can sleep in the pram and Jasmine goes to get changed.
Alf and Martha are sat outside the house. Martha says Alex has given her the numbers of psychologists. Alf thinks she should only need one but Martha says it can take time to get the right fit. Ryder comes past, having changed into a smart shirt. They ask him where he’s going; he is slightly evasive but says not to wait up. After he’s gone, they comment on his aftershave. Ryder walks towards Jade’s van, talking to himself to keep calm. He knocks on the door but gets no response. He goes in but obviously doesn’t find anyone there since he comes straight out.
As they set the table, Roo tells Alf and Martha about her encounter with Jade. They both express surprise that she went over and introduced herself when Ryder wasn’t there. Roo says the opportunity just came up but is advised to stop meddling. Meanwhile, Ryder finds Jade on the balcony at Salt and asks what happened to them meeting. Jade says she wasn’t going to wait around all night for him but agrees to them hanging out now.
Robbo, Jasmine, Ian and Wendy arrive at the Diner (with Grace in her pram) to be happily greeted by Marilyn, who introduces herself and Irene. Irene reiterates what she said earlier about the meal being on the house. Jasmine says she’d have made something special if she’d known Ian and Wendy were coming and Robbo makes a caustic remark about them springing things on people. Later, the four of them have finished their meal. Ian suggests a nightcap but Robbo says he and Jasmine have to get Grace to bed. They all leave. Marilyn asks Irene if something’s going on and Irene notes it felt like she’d interrupted something earlier.
Ian and Wendy arrive at Salt for a drink, discussing how Robbo seems more like himself. Ian offers to talk with Robbo again, but Wendy says she’ll do it while he concentrates on Jasmine. Meanwhile, Robbo and Jasmine have retired to their room with Grace. Jasmine asks what was going on before and Robbo tells her about Ian’s offer, saying he’s still getting his head around it. Jasmine notes they’re settled in Summer Bay.
Ryder asks Jade if she has any siblings. Jade says she does and they’re all pains. After a pause, Ryder says he doesn’t. Jade tells him to stop talking. Ryder asks if they’re still on a date. Jade says she isn’t after anything serious but had Roo asking her about her intentions. Ryder goes home and has a go at Roo for talking to Jade. Roo says she just introduced herself but Jade was rude and didn’t make a good first impression. Ryder says it’s none of her business and to stay out of it.
Ryder goes to Jade’s caravan and tells her he’s told Roo to stay away. He asks if they can hang out still. Jade kisses him and leads him into the caravan, where they resume kissing. Back at the flat, Robbo notes he could sell the business to get them somewhere new and Jasmine notes she could get another job. That still leaves the Morgans and whether they’d be happy about him taking Grace away. Jasmine says that’s up to him but suggests Tori would want what was best for Grace.
Next morning, Alf and Martha banter as they make breakfast. Roo comes down wondering where Ryder is; his bed wasn’t slept in last night. She is still uncertain about Jade. Alf convinces her to sit down since she can’t change whatever happened last night. Roo isn’t exactly reassured by him talking about what she’s done in the past. Meanwhile, Jade wakes up and finds Ryder watching her. He cautiously suggests last night was fun. Jade says it was all right and asks if he wants a written report, before agreeing last night was fun but this morning is even better as they kiss again.
Robbo and Jasmine walk near the beach. Robbo recalls that when he was a teenager he couldn’t wait to get away from the country but now he can see it was a good place to grow up. Jasmine notes she moved between foster homes and never knew what it was like to have friends and family until she came to Summer Bay, and Grace should have the same. Later, at the Diner, Irene asks Jasmine what’s up and Jasmine tells her what’s going on. Ian appears and asks to talk to Jasmine. He says sometimes Robbo gets an idea in his head that’s hard to shift. Jasmine says she’s not against the move but won’t put pressure on Robbo.
Up in the flat, Wendy talks to Robbo, suggesting Tori might never wake up and he can’t stay in limbo. She says it’s his chance of having a family again. She recalls how he was in a dark place for a long time and they thought they’d lost him, so it’s a second chance for all of them. Robbo agrees to come.
