Extended Summary

Robbo is now standing with his back to Tori, who wonders if she offended him. Robbo says that the people that killed his family are still out there and giving their daughter her surname connects her to him. He says that’s why he hardly ever uses the name: He only called himself Ryan Shaw on the wedding invites because that’s how half the people coming know him.

At the Diner, Marilyn serves Maggie mud cake. Maggie explains Ben’s visiting the board factory. Leah tells them about meeting Ava tomorrow, which Marilyn thinks is lovely. After Maggie’s gone, Alf recalls when Roo met Ailsa and Marilyn recalls Jett calling her a homewrecker but says Ava’s a lovely girl. Leah recalls that Hunter burnt her house down. Back at the farm house, Ben tells Maggie the factory’s a smooth operation, the work’s consistent and it looks like they’re going to make the deadline, and he now has time to work on some single orders. He tries to propose a toast to grace under fire. Maggie reminds him that he nearly fell apart.

At the gym, Mason is showing people out as Robbo arrives. Robbo says he wanted to catch up on admin. Mason says it’s all done but Robbo only gives him an offhand, prompted thank you. Mason asks if they can have a chat, saying he’s got back to back shifts tomorrow. Robbo says he can go home now, then checks that’s what he’s going to do, explaining he wants someone to keep an eye on Tori. He goes to the office and looks at a photo of his children.

Mason arrives home and mentions Robbo being back to Tori. He guesses Robbo knows about the suture. Tori tells him about offering to give the baby Robbo’s surname and his concerns over what happened to his family. She worries she’s brought it all up for him again. Mason says Robbo wants to protect them. Meanwhile, Robbo is working on the crib on the flat balcony. Jasmine joins him, saying the empty bed woke her. Robbo gets a text from Tori asking to meet tomorrow. He comments that they keep ending up on different pages. Jasmine suggests that Tori needs to trust Robbo more and Robbo needs to make it clear what he wants. She encourages him to join her in bed.

Next morning, Mason exits the house to find Robbo there with the crib on the back of his ute. As they lift it down together, Robbo gives a more sincere thank you for Mason looking after the gym. Mason says Robbo still owes him a chat. When they carry the crib inside, Tori initially thinks Mason forgot his protein shake, then is delighted at the cot. Mason leaves. Tori tells Robbo she’s had another idea which he’s welcome to say no to: He and Jasmine could move into the cottage, so he’ll be able to help out with the baby. Robbo says he’ll have to talk it over with Jasmine.

Down on the beach, Robbo explains the offer to Jasmine. They can see it would be easier to help out with the baby and they’d still have their own space. Jasmine says he has her full support whatever he needs to do. Later, Mason is talking to Robbo at the gym, explaining about how he’s planning to go back to medicine and get an internship. Robbo isn’t really paying attention but is surprised when Mason says he might move interstate away from Tori. Mason says it’s not happening yet, he was just giving him a heads up. Robbo thanks him.

Justin is unloaded bags outside the house while Ava plays with Buddy. Leah arrives and Justin does introductions. Ava asks to go play with Buddy. Soon after, Leah, Justin and Ava all enter the house and meet Tori, with Ava saying she’s looking forward to meeting her new cousin. While Ava’s putting her bags in Raffy’s room, Tori tells Justin and Leah about her offer to Robbo. Justin isn’t keen but Tori and Leah are in favour. (Tori also learns Leah and Justin knew about the cot.) Ava returns and Leah offers her food. Ava ignores her and instead asks to go and see Mason. She is a bit put out that Leah will be going with them.

Robbo shows Jasmine round the cottage, noting they’ll be able to make it their own. Jasmine is slightly worried about practialities, wondering if Tori will knock on the door in the middle of the night for help with the baby or if the baby will ever sleep there. Robbo thinks Tori will be fine with whatever they want. Jasmine goes to look around. At the surf club, Ava is glad to be reunited with Mason. She initially turns down Leah’s offer of a juice but changes her mind when Leah starts going to the gym with them, leaving her behind while Justin and Mason accompany her. Maggie appears and Leah says Ava’s avoiding her.

Mason sets Ava up with some gloves and a punch bag. He tells Justin that he spoke to Robbo about applying for an internship, explaining that the more he tells people, the more he’ll have to do it. Leah appears with Ava’s juice but Ava says she isn’t thirsty anymore. She isn’t happy about Leah being around all the time.

Back at the house, Tori ponders the names Delilah and Rose. Jasmine suggests her own name, before admitting that would be weird. To Jasmine’s surprise, Robbo turns down Tori’s offer, saying they need their own place. Leah, Justin and Ava arrive back and Justin jokes about the couple borrowing a cup of sugar already. Robbo and Jasmine leave. Ava tries to drag Justin outside as he assures Leah things will get better.

Leah brings some food out. Ava turns her nose up at Leah’s quiche and moussaka, asking for tomato sauce. Leah offers to go and get it but Justin says he will. Seeing Buddy loitering nearby, Ava tips the moussaka off her plate to him, telling Leah it was an accident. Inside, Tori helps Justin locate the ketchup. Mason then rushes in with the news that he’s got an internship, at Pilbara Regional Hospital. Justin is bewildered that he’s going to Western Australia but Tori is encouraging.

Outside, Ava is picking at her food. Leah sits down next to her and says she wants to get to know her. Ava says Justin hadn’t mentioned Leah before the car ride and thinks there’s no point getting to know her because Justin’s girlfriends never last.
