Extended Summary

Leah and Justin run into each other near the surf club. Leah is sorting out posters for the Epilepsy Awareness Day and mentions helping John. Justin has heard about Jett and is getting Raffy’s room ready for her. They reflect on how bad it’d be for a parent. Justin mentions things are tense at home. At the cottage, Brody tells Ziggy he betrayed her trust and Ziggy points out he still got what he wanted, wondering if he ever wanted the future they were building together. She asks when the affair started but Brody doesn’t answer directly, simply saying he tried to stop it. Ziggy asks if she could have done anything to save the marriage and Brody shakes his head. Ziggy says there’s nothing more to say.

At the Diner, John finishes a phone call and tells Marilyn that the army are arranging a flight for them and will pick them up tomorrow. Marilyn is worried that something could happen in the meantime but John thinks they’ll need time to get ready. At the surf club, Ben is on the phone to Maggie, discussing the fact Ziggy isn’t at home and isn’t answering her phone. He also gets a message from John asking him to keep an eye on the surf club in his absence. Ziggy comes in upset and Ben tells Maggie he’ll call her back. Ziggy says she’s been to see Brody: It’s really over and she needs to get her stuff. Ben comforts her. Unnoticed by Ziggy, Justin appears and seems to be contemplating coming over; Ben subtly shakes his head.

Maggie stops Simone at school and tells her about Bella not being able to upload her work. Simone admits she missed Bella’s message. Maggie tells her to follow up on it. She gets a text from Ben and icily tells Simone she has to help her daughter move out of her house because her husband’s been having an affair. Simone says she’s sorry. Maggie looks unimpressed. At the Diner, Marilyn is giving Irene, Leah and Tori an update on the situation. Irene and Tori do their best to reassure her that Jett will be fine and the Morgans are happy to have Raffy with them while John and Marilyn are away. Leah and Tori discuss Tori’s talk at the epilepsy day and Tori also mentions that she hopes Brody and Ziggy will sort things out.

Ben and Maggie are packing up the ute outside the Morgan house while Ziggy is getting things ready. Maggie is disappointed, noting that there seemed so much love between them. Ben says not enough and they’re lucky it didn’t get more serious. Maggie thinks getting married is serious. Tori comes home and is horrified to learn Ziggy’s moving out. In the cottage, Ziggy is picking up photos and other personal belongings: A CV is seen to which she has added the name “Morgan”. She has flashbacks to the wedding and then to finding Simone trying on Brody’s chef whites there and to catching them together at the van. She takes down the wedding photo.

Inside the house, Tori tries to get Brody to go out and fight for Ziggy. Brody says he ended the marriage because he wants to be with Simone. Tori protests that Ziggy is family. Brody brings up Robbo, saying at least he’s stuffing up his own life. Justin steps in and sends Brody for a walk. At the surf club, John is in the office as Marilyn turns up. They haven’t had any further news; John has left Alf a message letting him know what’s going on. They make plans to have a special dinner tonight before taking Raffy to the Morgans’ in the morning and to wait for the army to call them with the pick-up time.

Ben and Maggie bring boxes into the farm house. Ziggy is sat on the sofa and gets a text from Coco saying “Call me if you want to talk, love you.” Maggie tries to get her to call her. Ziggy laments the fact that she and Brody didn’t even last a year. Back at the Morgan house, Tori is incredulous at the idea that Brody is starting a life with Simone. Justin says he wasn’t keen on the idea either but Brody’s made his decision. Tori says the Astonis probably hate them. Justin admits he hurt Ziggy by staying quiet. He says they have to deal with Raffy, who doesn’t know and who’s worried about Jett. Tori is worried about her finding out some other way. Justin thinks it’s not their place to tell her.

Brody and Simone walk near the beach. He tells her about Ziggy moving out and packing up their life but agrees it’s the right thing. He says he should have told her earlier but Simone says there’d never have been an easy time. Brody goes back to the cottage and finds the wedding photo smashed with Ziggy’s wedding rings on top of it. Tori turns up and Brody says he tried to fight it but he and Simone fit in a way that he and Ziggy never did. Tori still isn’t too happy that he let it drag on for months but says she and Justin are getting takeaway and he can join them.

At the Diner, while Irene and Leah are getting their takeaways ready, John chats to Justin and Tori about the fact Jett’s still in surgery and checks they’re okay to take Raffy. Tori tells Leah about Ziggy moving out and says there are too many secrets in the family. Leah and Justin exchange awkward looks. Next morning, Brody and Simone meet in a park area. Simone greets him with a kiss but Brody looks awkward, still feeling bad about Ziggy. He mentions he’s going to tell Raffy tonight. Simone is worried about school. Brody thinks Maggie will be professional.

Ben and Maggie are already up when Ziggy emerges. She refuses anything other than coffee, including a surf, and goes back to bed. Maggie wonders if they should push her to go out and Ben says eventually, also noting she’s unlikely to want to go back to work. Maggie isn’t looking forward to seeing Simone at school. Ben suggests getting someone else to supervise her but Maggie coldly says she can handle her just fine. At the Diner, Marilyn tells Irene and Leah that Jett’s in an induced coma. She worries about what might happen before they get there, before saying they have to drop Raffy off before the army car comes to collect them. The others say to give Jett their love.

Simone is setting things up as Maggie arrives at school. Simone jovially asks if she can help, then suggests they talk. Maggie asks if she was sleeping with Brody when she applied for the job. Simone tries to say sorry but Maggie says if it was up to her Simone wouldn’t have a job, but the students need her. She says Simone dropped the ball with Bella, so should concentrate on her job and stay out of Maggie’s way.
