Episode 7065

Extended Summary

Brody and Ziggy are sat having a picnic. Justin comes along and describes it as cosy, with Brody saying they’re having alone time. Tori comes past, saying that “she” blurted it out and now everyone knows. Brody and Ziggy are left thoroughly confused. At the Diner, Irene brushes off Colby’s attempt to defend Tori, while Leah says it’s complicated. Colby leaves, passing John and Marilyn. Alf gets Irene and Leah to tell them about Tori using the embryo without permission and Robbo breaking up with Jasmine. Martha suggests they shouldn’t judge. John and Marilyn explain Jett’s meant to be calling them before flying to Afghanistan.

Colby is on the balcony of the Diner flat when he gets a call from Maggie (who is in her office with Simone). She says that Bella’s fine but she wants to speak to him straight away. Bella appears, on her lunch, and is annoyed that Colby thinks she’s done something. He takes her with him to sort it out. At Salt, Ziggy notes she didn’t think Tori had it in her. Brody, rather defensively, says she didn’t set out to hurt anyone. Ziggy thinks he’s simply defending his sister.

Alf, John, Marilyn, Martha and Irene are all sat outside the Diner. Martha suggests she and Marilyn go for a walk but at that moment Jett rings. John briefly talks to him before handing over to Marilyn, with Leah joining them as she talks to him. John says to tell him to call them as soon as he lands. The brief conversation over, John and Marilyn leave. Martha says she has an idea to help them. Much later, John and Marilyn are at home, wondering how they’re going to cope for six months. Alf, Martha and Leah arrive and Martha explains her idea: Her Country Women’s Association group make care packages for soldiers (John rambles that he’s heard about that until Alf cuts him off) and she suggests they do the same and make a personal one for Jett. Marilyn says it’s a wonderful idea.

Colby and Bella join Maggie and Simone in the office but Bella is asked to leave them. Bella listens at the door. Maggie and Simone explain about the exercise Simone did with Bella. Her greatest wish was that Chelsea never left and they were living in the city together…and her greatest fear is that Ross will come back for her and shoot Colby. Colby says he didn’t know. He brushes aside their attempt to discuss it and goes to talk to Bella, but she’s already run off. Bella turns up at the beach house looking for Willow and instead finds Irene, who she thought was still away. She wants to talk to Dean (who is doing community service) or Willow and doesn’t want Irene to call Colby. Irene suggests she tells her what it’s all about.

Justin finds Tori near the beach. He suggests Jasmine did her a favour, since people were going to find out eventually. Tori says that’s not what’s worrying her, but the guilt at seeing Jasmine like that. Justin says she can’t control what’s going on with Robbo and Jasmine, so should focus on the fact that in seven months she’ll have a baby. He takes her to Salt where Brody and Ziggy are waiting. Brody notes it’s not every day he finds out he’s going to be an uncle and Ziggy says she knows Tori didn’t mean to hurt anyone so she’s happy for her. Colby comes in, on the phone to Willow, and asks if they’ve seen Bella.

Outside, Maggie and Simone are also searching, with Simone wondering if she handled things the right way. Colby joins them, thinking he should have spotted the problem. Simone suggests Bella might need professional help. Colby says he thought that was her and Simone explains she meant a counsellor. Colby isn’t in the mood to discuss that and goes to get his car. At the beach house, a stressed out Bella repeatedly says that Colby wasn’t meant to know what she wrote. Irene doesn’t really understand but grasps that Bella didn’t want to worry Colby and points out that’s what she’s doing now, suggesting they ring him and let him know she’s all right.

Irene escorts Bella to meet with Colby near the Diner and leaves them to it after a brief chat. Colby tries to say he can look after himself but Bella says that every time he leaves the house or she goes to school she’s worried she won’t see him again. She isn’t won over by his attempt to say Ross isn’t coming back. At the Palmer house, Martha chats to Leah about the origin of the tradition as John puts the finishing touches to Jett’s box. As John, Marilyn and Leah take the boxes to the car, Alf stops Martha and thanks her.

In a park area, Maggie takes a call from Colby and shares the news with Simone. She notes she’s also got an e-mail from the department saying they’ve approved the funding, meaning Simone is now officially employed. She suggests they go for a drink to celebrate although Simone looks uncomfortable when Maggie suggests going to Salt for Brody’s margaritas. At Salt, Ziggy says she has news of her own. Justin jokingly asks if there’s another Morgan on the way and Brody nervously checks that’s not it. Ziggy explains she cashed in the honeymoon vouchers to help with their house deposit. Maggie and Simone arrive and Ziggy tells Maggie as well. Tori and Ziggy leave for home and Simone goes to get a table on the balcony.

Later, Maggie and Simone are chatting on the balcony. Simone ponders whether Colby’s best placed to help Bella, noting if he’s opposed to counselling for her then he won’t accept any for himself. Maggie goes to get more drinks. As she’s chatting to Justin, Brody sneaks out to try and talk to Simone. Simone says he’s obviously making plans with Ziggy and tells him to go. He does as Maggie returns. Justin asks what he’s playing at but he doesn’t answer.

Colby and Bella head to the Diner and are greeted by Irene. Colby sends Bella to get a table. He tells Irene it wasn’t meant to be like this and he thought he was the one protecting Bella; she needs him to be strong but he’s not sure if he can be. Unaware Bella is listening, he says he’s not sure he can sort out her issues and his own.
