Extended Summary
Ben follows Mason out onto the wharf. Mason apologises for his outburst, saying he knows the fundraiser is important and will apologise to everyone else. Ben is more concerned about him, offering to call Tori or his brothers. Mason says it’s not necessary and he can’t afford to take a break, needing to get his head down. At the gym, Tori tells Robbo that there are only three embryos left and is worried it might reduce further. Robbo says they’ve only got to keep until tomorrow. Jasmine turns up and they explain to her before Tori leaves the pair to their date. Jasmine suspects Robbo is worried but he claims not to be.
Robbo and Jasmine head up to Salt where Jasmine says just this once Robbo can order pineapple on the pizza. Robbo admits he’s worried about the lack of guarantee on the IVF. He checks his phone and Jasmine takes it away, saying Tori will call if there’s any news. At that moment, Tori is arriving at the Diner, having been summoned by Ben; he, Irene and Coco tell her about Mason’s meltdown. Tori joins Mason, who says he’s apologised to everyone but she explains she’s more worried about whether he’s okay. Mason admits he feels like he’s drowning. Tori says it’s been a full-on year and wants him to work out a proper study schedule, saying Maggie will understand if he’s not free to train her. She also mentions waiting for a call from the fertility clinic.
Ben and Coco run into Alf and Roo near the surf club. The Stewarts ask how Ryder’s getting on, but the Astonis haven’t heard anything more and assume he’s still taking the exams. Ben asks Alf about a prize donation for the fundraiser raffle, suggesting credit at the bait shop. Roo is underwhelmed at the idea, suggesting a boat hire instead. Ben didn’t want to push his luck but Alf offers both, as thanks for helping Ryder. Ben states as terms and conditions that he has no say in the final results. Alf unsuccessfully tries to get him to text Maggie for news. At the gym, Jasmine tells Robbo he can check his phone once every half hour and points out the ring volume is at maximum. Ben and Coco come in and ask Robbo about donating a three-month gym membership for the silent auction. Robbo is very distracted, looking over at his phone and jumping when the office phone rings (a staff member goes to anwer it), but tells them to sign him up, even though he doesn’t seem entirely sure what he’s agreed to.
Tori shows Mason the schedule she’s worked out, which includes plenty of time off. Mason says she hasn’t left room for his gym shifts and Tori tells him he’ll have to put them on hold for a while. She gets a phone call from the IVF clinic but is reluctant to answer it, worried it might be bad news which would mean there’s an egg quality problem. Mason convinces her to answer. Soon after, she runs up to Robbo and Jasmine on the beach and tells them there are two viable embryos: One to implant and one to freeze. Jasmine tries not to look uncomfortable as Tori apologises for interrupting and rushes off again.
Coco and Ben arrive home and Maggie tells them she sent Ryder home. She hasn’t marked his papers yet and couldn’t tell them the results if she had. She reveals Mason messaged to say he can’t train her anymore and they explain about him being stressed at the Diner. Meanwhile, Mason is at home and gives the answer to a study question Tori asked but Tori is distracted, having moved on to her next worry: Only 40% of implantations are successful. Mason tells her to enjoy the moment and she gets back to asking him questions.
Robbo and Jasmine are walking on the beach and Robbo notes Jasmine is quiet. Jasmine reflects on the problems of being a chatterbox and admits she’s worried it will be a bit weird, another woman being pregnant with his child. She asks what will happen tomorrow. Robbo says he’ll drop Tori off at the hospital, wait in the corridor, then take her home before going back to Jasmine. Next morning, Tori and Mason are walking near the Diner. Tori has a playlist and meditation on her phone, thinking the baby might like to know what music was playing when they were conceived. Mason points out she wouldn’t like to know what their parents were listening to but Tori says that’s different since there’s no sex. They meet up with Robbo and Jasmine. Mason asks Jasmine to help him study. Jasmine agrees she needs a distraction, looking over at Tori and Robbo leaving together with what look like very mixed feelings.
Ben, Maggie and Coco are examining the area near the surf club as a venue, with Ben explaining Alf is making the necessary arrangement with the council and committee. Mason and Jasmine come past and Mason promises he is studying and suggests Willow could help Maggie out. The Astonis decide to have breakfast then meet Ryder. At the Diner, Alf and Roo discuss Ryder studying. Ben, Maggie and Coco come in and promise that there’s been no confusion and Maggie is meeting Ryder soon. After exchanging thanks, Maggie tells them again that she hasn’t marked the papers but they should be positive.
At Salt, Jasmine teaches Mason the mnemoic “Tyler Perforated My Account”, referring to a troublesome ex-boyfriend. She confirms that she needs a distraction from the IVF. At the hospital, Tori finds her phone is flat and tells Robbo about the playlist. Robbo says Lauren was the same when she was pregnant with Sophie: She had a detailed birth plan, only to go into labour three weeks early while on holiday, give birth in a small hospital with staff she’d never met before and have her drug-free natural birth turn into an emergency caesarean. She didn’t mind because they had a perfect baby girl. Tori thanks him and asks him to come in with her.
Jasmine checks her phone and apologises to Mason for not being much help with studying. She wonders if she should call Robbo but Mason tells her to trust him. At the hospital, Tori and Robbo are watching an ultrasound and the doctor tells them they can watch the procedure on there as she begins. Tori gets teary and Robbo holds her hand.
