Extended Summary

Justin finds Tori obsessively cleaning the fridge. She asks him if he’s in for dinner and, when he says he doesn’t know, launches into a tirade about men not being able to make up their minds. Justin says the reason is it’s Willow’s court date tomorrow and she might need some support. Tori apologises and explains that she actually did ask Robbo about being a donor: He said he’d think about it but it’s been days. However, she doesn’t want to pressure him. At the gym, John is telling Robbo about Ryder’s accident: He admits it was Ryder’s pride hurt more than anything else, but says it could have been worse and he’s told Alf. Jasmine comes in and asks Robbo if he wants to grab a coffee after her workout. Robbo says he has to fire a trainer first but might be free afterwards.

Ryder is walking back through the caravan park. Dean throws him a ball and he winces as he gets a pain in his shoulder. Dean asks how he hurt himself; Ryder says he did something stupid and Dean says he knows how that feels. Leah comes along and says Alf told her what happened. She asks Ryder to come to the house and Ryder says he was going that way anyway. Dean suggests he should get checked out and Leah curtly says she’s got it. Outside the house, she gives Ryder an ice pack and he still refuses to see a doctor. He says he thought the gym was a good place to meet guys but can’t force people to be friends with him. Leah offers to get him something to eat. After she’s gone inside, Ryder wanders off.

Dean is reading a letter when Ryder comes back the same way. Dean explains his court appearance is tomorrow. Ryder says he’s getting away from people telling him what to do. Dean decides to go with him. Outside the surf club, Tori comes across Robbo taking a shower. They make small talk about the gym; Robbo tells her about Ryder’s accident and suggests she check on him. He says he’s still thinking about her question and will tell her as soon as he’s made a decision.

Outside the caravan park house, Leah attempts to phone Ryder, wondering where he’s got to. Ryder is on the beach with Dean, who asks him what happened to his hot girlfriend. Ryder says they broke up and confirms that he didn’t hook up with the other one. Dean says it’s for the best sometimes. He suggests they go to the surf club for a game of pool. Ryder isn’t keen on going back there and isn’t reassured by Dean saying it won’t be the last time he makes a fool of himself.

At the Diner, Irene asks Alf about Hawaii and he notes Caroline isn’t looking too good. Tori comes in and asks about Ryder; Alf says it’s not serious but he’ll mention the offer. Justin has also come in. Tori sits with him and confirms that she spoke to Robbo, although he didn’t give her an answer: She’s convinced he’ll say no. At the surf club, Ryder says he sucks at pool as well. Dean says he’s supposed to blame it on the injury. He asks about Ryder living with Alf and Ryder says he doesn’t get on with his mum. Dean notes his mum isn’t around anymore and he never knew who his dad was. They discuss the River Boys; Dean said they had an abandoned house as a hideout and youngsters had to stay there overnight as an initiation. John comes down and suggests Ryder should be resting and they should both be spending time with people their own age. Ryder tells him to mind his own business.

Robbo is preparing to go for a coffee with Jasmine when Justin turns up at the gym and insists on speaking to him straightaway. Robbo tells Jasmine they’ll have to postpone to that afternoon. Justin tells Robbo he knows about Tori’s offer and wonders why he isn’t giving her an answer. Robbo says he’s still thinking. Justin says if the answer’s no, he needs to tell her that. Outside the Diner, Irene catches Jasmine checking her phone. Jasmine says she’s meant to be getting a call from Robbo. Irene wonders if she still has feelings for him. Jasmine insists it’s normal to be upset about being cancelled on twice. She tries to walk away and Irene has to point her in the right direction.

Leah comes into the Diner and asks Alf and Irene if they’ve seen Ryder, explaining about him disappearing on her. Alf doesn’t think there’s much to worry about. He gets a phone call from John and is shocked to hear who Ryder’s with. Shortly after, Alf and Leah have joined John watching Dean and Ryder at the surf club. Alf suggests they make it the last game and Leah tells Ryder to come home now. Ryder tries to argue but Dean tells him to go, saying they’re looking out for him. Leah leaves without a word but Alf stops to thank Dean.

Dean goes up to Salt and ends up at the bar with Justin, who asks what his lawyer’s saying. Dean notes that even with Willow’s confession, his priors will still go against him. He asks Justin if he’s going to court and to look after Willow if things go badly for him. Justin asks if Dean will have anyone there; Dean says Colby’s out of town for a few days and he doesn’t need anyone. Meanwhile, Ryder arrives home with Alf and Leah but doesn’t want to talk to them, trying to go up to his room. He says that he has no friends and they don’t like the only one he’s got. Alf says Dean’s not his friend but Ryder retorts he’s the only person that doesn’t judge him.

In his van, Dean looks at his phone for a long time before picking it up and calling his mum. After confirming it’s him, he says he wanted to say hi and let her know he’s in court tomorrow. She hangs up without saying anything else and Dean calls himself an idiot. Meanwhile, Alf runs into Robbo outside the Diner. Robbo asks after Ryder and Alf comments unfavourably on him being friends with Dean, although he admits Dean nudged him in the right direction. He says Ryder’s father shot through shortly after he was born and he needs a stronger younger male role model. Some time later, Robbo is standing by the window of his flat and looks at the photo of his children.

Next morning, Robbo runs into Jasmine outside the Diner and realises he forgot to rearrange their coffee. He says it’s still not a good time but he’ll call her. Irene challenges Jasmine, who admits she likes Robbo. Meanwhile, Robbo meets Tori in a park area. He says that the answer’s yes but he has one condition: He wants to be a father to the child.
