Extended Summary
Outside the bait shop, Alf prompts Leah to admit that she thinks Hunter’s doing the wrong thing and is just running away. She blames Zac but Alf says it’s Hunter’s call and being with Zac, Matt and Evie may give him a boost. Inside the Diner, Hunter is telling Irene and Ryder the news and invites them to a farewell lunch, asking Irene to make the food. Leah comes in while they’re chatting, as does Mason who also gets filled in. Hunter suggests Mason help him set up for the lunch like Ryder is (which is news to Ryder) but Mason says he’s meeting Dempsey. Irene comments to Leah on both Olivia and Hunter leaving.
At the surf club, Willow gives Jasmine a smoothie as a peace offering, saying she overreacted. She says she’s on top of her gambling now but Jasmine was the first person that tried to help her. Jasmine wonders why Willow’s apologising now and Willow says it’s step nine of her recovery programme. Jasmine forgives her. Later, Jasmine runs into Mason near the Diner and invites him for a coffee. He explains he has a date, adding that since he and Dempsey stopped focusing on the baby all the time things have been going well. Dempsey arrives and Jasmine leaves them to it.
Ryder is filling Hunter in on facts about Vietnam he’s getting from his phone. Leah comes home and tells Ryder she volunteered him to help Alf get the food for the lunch. Ryder leaves and Leah asks Hunter about his packing. Hunter asks if she thinks he’s doing the wrong thing. Leah confirms she does and says he’s avoiding his problems. Hunter says even if he is, he needs to do it. At the Diner, Irene provides Alf and Ryder with the food she’s prepared. Jasmine turns up and tells Irene she had a chat with Willow. Irene says she asked Willow to move in with them. Jasmine asks when and Irene says yesterday.
Mason and Dempsey arrive back at the Morgan house; they call out and find no-one’s home. Dempsey asks for a sandwich, saying she has a big appetite for “some reason”. Mason says it’s all right to mention the baby. Dempsey kisses him and asks how long they’ve got the place to themselves. Later, they come back from the bedroom and Dempsey notes she’s even hungrier now. Mason checks the fridge but finds Tori’s eaten the leftovers. He remembers the farewell lunch and convinces Dempsey to come along, saying they’re a team now.
Alf, Hunter, Ryder and Irene are gathering outside the caravan park house while Leah stands a little way away from them. Irene is proud of the spread she’s prepared. Alf chats to Hunter within earshot of Leah saying it’s been a rough couple of months/years but he appreciates how Hunter’s taken hold of things; he’s proud of him but going to miss him. Mason turns up with Dempsey, who he introduces as his girlfriend. Dempsey is fine with the description. Later, Irene tries to talk with Leah, saying it’s not about losing Hunter to Zac and she needs to clear the air with him. Leah says she’ll do it on the way to the airport. Dempsey is feeling unwell so Mason decides to take her away, after saying his goodbyes to Hunter. Irene also says goodbye.
Jasmine finds Willow at the gym and says she can drop the act: She knows about the room. Willow insists she meant what she said but also agrees that she needs the room. Jasmine says she can’t stop her taking it but Willow says she won’t move in unless Jasmine is okay with it. Some time later, Jasmine meets Willow outside after her shift. She says she’s finding it hard to trust Willow; she’s not told Irene about her addiction but isn’t entirely comfortable with her not knowing. Willow says that’s fine but Jasmine says she hasn’t decided yet. She asks Willow to promise there’ll be no more problems. Willow can’t but says she promises to try. Jasmine accepts it.
Jasmine and Irene chat to Willow about settling in at the beach house. Irene gives the house rules: Rent at the beginning of the week, split bills and no booze (Jasmine recalls bringing home a six pack). Irene explains she’s been sober a while but it helps to be away from temptation. She heads off to work leaving Jasmine and Willow to order pizza; Jasmine baulks at Hawaiian but accepts it in return for picking the movie. Meanwhile, Mason and Dempsey arrive back at his place. Mason insists he wants to look after her, offering a movie and a shoulder massage. Dempsey agrees but says she needs to take her umpteenth loo break first.
Leah stops Hunter as he’s coming downstairs, promising she’s not going to make it hard. Hunter says she’s been kind to him considering he was pretty terrible when he first arrived. Leah says she’s been proud to see the person he’s grown into. She says it’s hard losing him to Zac but she hopes he doesn’t forget her side of the family. Hunter asks her not to come to the airport, since he’s not sure he could leave if she did. Outside, they load up the ute. Hunter says a brief goodbye to Ryder, who wonders if he’s now the man of the house until Alf reminds him he’s there. Hunter hugs Leah goodbye, then Alf drives him away.
Dempsey is appreciating Mason’s massage but asks him to pause the movie while she goes to the bathroom again. Mason calls through to her, saying he’ll make more popcorn to Brody’s recipe. Dempsey reappears and says she’s bleeding and he needs to take her to hospital.
