Have Brody and Ziggy hit an insurmountable roadblock? Willow struggles to assert her independence as she searches for a place to live. A directionless Hunter makes a life-changing decision.

Extended Summary

Justin finds Willow taking a shower by the beach. He asks if she’s been avoiding him. She says she’s only just got back and has been staying with her cousin in Mangrove River. She turns down his suggestion to go for another swim. Later, she is working in the gym. Justin comes in and notices a bag she is trying to hide, using a kiss as a way to grab it. He finds it contains shampoo and toothpaste and she admits she’s actually staying on friends’ couches. However, she refuses to consider going back to living with him.

At the caravan park house, Leah asks Hunter about his plans for the day. He says he doesn’t have any: He’s definite about quitting uni but doesn’t know what he’s going to do instead. When Leah tries to quiz him further, he leaves. Leah protests to Alf that she’s just trying to help. Alf tells her to let Hunter make his own decisions. Later at the Diner, Jasmine chats to Irene about her early morning run. Leah comments about preferring to have a partner. Jasmine suggests another movie and snacks night to Irene before leaving. Irene comments to Leah that it’s like living with the energiser bunny, especially now she’s not spending time with Robbo any more.

Justin finds Brody entering the house with a bag. Brody says he’ll need his old room for the night. He asks if he’s controlling, since Ziggy thinks he is. He complains that Ziggy wanted to get married and he’s tried to make her happy, but according to her he’s failing. Meanwhile, Ziggy approaches Ben outside the Diner, saying she should have just apologised to Brody and is now going to be like one of those celebrities who’s only married five minutes. Ben tells her to calm down and make sense. She tells him she thinks her marriage might be over.

Willow is running a gym class up on the headland. Jasmine comes along and learns John gave her her job back. Jasmine explains Robbo owns the gym now and asks if he knows about Willow’s history. Willow realises she means her stealing from the gym. The conversation becomes increasingly heated until Willow tells Jasmine to stay out of her life. Meanwhile, Ben is telling Ziggy that all couples argue but she can’t hide it if she’s upset about something. Ziggy says she really loves Brody but she wasn’t expecting getting married to change so much. Ben recalls all the problems he had with Maggie when they were first married. He says you need to compromise and she should talk to Brody.

Leah and Jasmine run into each other near the Diner. Leah is heading to the gym and invites Jasmine to join her but Jasmine thinks she should avoid it for a bit: Not because of Robbo, but because of Willow. She explains about their run-in. Leah says Willow’s been making an effort. Jasmine says she was worried about Robbo but accepts he can look after himself and she should make it up with Willow. Meanwhile, Willow arrives at the Morgan house and tells Justin she’ll move in on three conditions: It’s temporary, she goes back to sleeping in Brody’s room and she pays rent. Justin tries to point out Brody’s room isn’t available but Willow’s in full flow so he goes with it. Willow says she’s looking at shared houses that afternoon but has a couple of hours to kill and seemingly a few ideas on what to do in them…

It’s Brody’s turn to approach Ben about his marital problems. Ben reminds him that Ziggy’s new to it, having not even lived away from home before marrying him. He says he told Brody before they got married that it wouldn’t be an easy ride but Brody promised him he could handle it. He gives the same advice about compromise and tells him to go find Ziggy. Back at the Morgan house, Brody and Ziggy exchange apologies and affirm that they love each other. Brody promises not to try and control her and Ziggy promises not to hide things. Brody repeats the compromise advice, slightly freaking Ziggy out until they realise they both spoke to Ben. Brody suggests they go out for cocktails in Yabbie Creek and see a band. Ziggy says she’d be just as happy with a movie at home cuddling up on the couch.

Alf approaches Hunter on the wharf. He says he’s not going to hassle him about uni but tells him to go easy on Leah, who is just worried about him making a rash decision. Hunter maintains he’s finished with uni. Alf worries he’s given up on his dreams. Hunter says he’s used to things going wrong. At the Diner, Justin and Willow return from the house hunting: Willow isn’t impressed with any of them. Irene overhears and says Olivia’s old room is spare at hers. Justin finally admits Brody’s room isn’t available. Willow accepts but falters when Irene says it’ll be company for Jasmine; she’d forgotten she lived there but says it’s not a problem.

Leah arrives home and asks Alf if he’s okay with Mexican for dinner, since she wants to make Hunter’s favourite. Alf tells her about his conversation with Hunter and how he seems to have lost faith in himself. Leah thinks she should have stopped things with Christina. Alf says Hunter’s so used to things going wrong that he’s stopped trying. At that moment, Hunter is sitting on the Diner veranda staring at his plate. He takes out his phone and calls Zac. After asking about Matt and Evie and a trip to Cambodia, he tearfully admits that he’s not OK and everything’s a mess.

Justin and Willow arrive at the surf club. Willow explains about her run-in with Jasmine and how they’re meant to be staying out of each other’s way. Justin points out her options are the dodgy share houses, staying with him and making up with Jasmine, and the latter seems best. Back at the caravan park house, Leah is worrying where Hunter’s got to. She tells Alf she’s going to go and look for him, but before she can he turns up. He says he lost track of time. Leah says she’s looked into other unis that do sports science courses. Hunter says he’s called Zac for help; Zac offered to come back to the Bay but Hunter had another idea. He’s going to live in Vietnam, tomorrow.
