Extended Summary

Mason is pacing in the Morgans’ garden. Dempsey comes out and joins him. He apologises for walking out, saying he needed some air. Dempsey understands. Mason thought they were careful but Dempsey says they were drunk, and watching women give birth every day should have been contraception enough. She hasn’t thought of a plan beyond telling him, thinking they could work it out together. Mason realises it’s not certain if she’ll keep the baby. At the Diner, Ryder and Coco join Raffy and Ty in their cake eating. Tori comes in and Raffy goes over to greet her. Tori says they’ll catch up later, then privately confirms to Leah that she went to the fertility clinic: She’s going through with it but is waiting on her results.

Hunter meets up with Christina in a park area. He notes everything makes sense now. Christina says she wanted to tell him but Hunter says the previous night when he was opening up to her would have been a good time. Christina insists her marriage has been effectively over for a long time but she wasn’t brave enough to leave: They’d been together since they were young and grown apart. She says Tony’s moving out. Hunter isn’t willing to let her move straight on to him, saying he only met with her to hear her explain. Christina says she’ll give him time. That evening, Hunter is staring at a half-finished beer in Salt. Mason sits down next to him and is given a full beer. Hunter says Christina’s married. Mason says Dempsey’s pregnant. Hunter says Mason wins.

John, Marilyn and Jodi approach the teens at the Diner and ask to speak to Ty in private. Jodi tells him she’s not leaving him and wants him to come and live with her. John and Marilyn say he’s welcome to stay with them but it’s up to him. Meanwhile, Tori is looking up the fertility clinic online when Mason comes home. He tells her about Dempsey’s pregnancy and that it’s still sinking in. He thinks it’s her choice whether she keeps it. Tori suggests it’s a positive sign that she told him. Mason asks her not to tell Justin or Brody.

Next morning, Marilyn tries to coax John and Raffy into eating. Raffy decides to go out but then Ty comes home, cheerily asking if she’s going anywhere. Raffy asks if he is. Ty says he’s going to live with Jodi. Everyone tries not to look upset. Some time later, Ty, Raffy, Ryder and Coco take a selfie near the beach while Jodi thanks John and Marilyn for trusting her. She goes to wait in the car. Ty thanks John and Marilyn for everything they’ve done. They tell him they were proud to have him in their family and they all hug. Ty goes back to Raffy, commenting on everything they’ve been through together. They also hug before he gets in the car with Jodi and they drive off, with Coco comforting Raffy. Marilyn suggests they go home but John says he needs some time alone.

Leah runs into Tori near the Diner; she says her results are due today. Leah sees Hunter and notes he left early, asking him about his placement application. Hunter tells her Christina’s married, bitterly suggesting she can pat herself on the back and say she was right. He walks away. Alf has heard from the bait shop and goes after him. Hunter knows he was out of line and Alf says he’d better make a good apology. They discuss the situation with Christina. Alf says Hunter didn’t have a choice about getting into the situation but does now.

Hunter meets Christina at Salt. He says he’s been in Tony’s position and can’t be the reason her marriage breaks up. Christina insists that being with Hunter is the first time she’s ever been able to be herself. Hunter says he wants her to do what she offered to do before: Get him another tutor. He says she’s made him the bad guy. Christina leaves. In the Morgans’ garden, Mason and Dempsey are chatting. Mason says he wanted to finish uni and go travelling, while Dempsey says she wanted to have her own ward by thirty. She isn’t sure if she should have told him but Mason’s glad she did. She says her family’s in Melbourne and can’t help. Mason says they could have childcare and wonders if they’d live together or not, finding it slightly surreal. Tori watches through the window, then gets a call from the clinic.

John arrives home and finds Marilyn has made a special lunch. He thanks her and sits down to eat. Marilyn says John was very selfless and did a good job supporting Ty. She says it’s a comfort to her that he’s with his mother. John wishes it was for him. Meanwhile, Leah meets Tori at Salt. Tori says the results showed she has a low ovarian count for her age: She needs to start IVF straightaway but there’s only a limited number of sperm samples.
