Extended Summary

Willow jokingly wolf whistles Colby on the beach. She offers to buy him a coffee but he says it’s his first day back at work. Willow notes she vaguely remembers having a job: She’s stopped gambling but has had enough of sitting around doing nothing. At the farm house, Brody is cooking lunch for himself and Ziggy. However, Ben and Maggie return from the hospital earlier than expected to reveal her cancer markers are down. Ben sees Brody cooking and says he was going to order takeout but this is better. Since Maggie finally has her appetite back, Ziggy convinces Brody to let them share. Then Coco and Ryder turn up and Brody snarkily notes there’s even more for lunch.

At Salt, Leah tries to reassure Tori that her situation isn’t hopeless. Tori isn’t looking forward to having IVF, knowing she’ll have to inject herself full of hormones, and isn’t sure she can do it on her own. Leah says there’s no guarantee the old-fashioned way, although it is fun, and how she’d feel if she didn’t try. Later, Willow turns the TV off when Tori comes home. She asks about Justin; Tori says access to Ava has been finalised but they’re still waiting on the verdict. Willow says she needs to get a job. Tori suggests she talks to John about getting her job back at the gym, saying working at the Diner helped Brody.

Over lunch, Maggie comments on still having to get through the hundred days. Ryder says the sauce is a bit runny but he gives it 7/10. Ben suggests there’s not enough chicken and Brody pointedly remarks that he wasn’t expecting so many. Despite the complaints, everyone seems to want seconds. Later, Brody asks if someone will help him with the washing up. Ben says the person that made the mess cleans up in their family, Brody says in his the person that cooks doesn’t wash up. Maggie says she’ll help but Ziggy says she will. First, she takes Coco aside and asks if she’s slept with Ryder. Coco says they’re waiting and Ziggy says she’s proud of her. She goes back, where Brody orders Ryder to do the washing up, moves Ben’s quilt off the sofa and sits there with Ziggy.

Alf is on the phone to Roo outside the bait shop, getting an update on Duncan and Bryce. Colby comes past in uniform and Alf comments on him being back on the job. He asks him about the break-in at the surf club, saying nothing’s happened since they took his statement. Colby says he’ll look into it. However, when he gets to the station, McCarthy gives him a lot of files on traffic violations and pointedly gives him a new badge.

At the Diner, Alf asks Irene about Olivia; Irene says she’s doing well and told her the coffee’s almost as good in Melbourne as there. Willow comes through looking for John and is told he and Marilyn have gone up the coast with Raffy. Willow explains about wanting her job back but isn’t confident. Alf says John knows the value of a second chance and offers to talk to him. At the police station, Colby returns the files to McCarthy and asks about the break-in. McCarthy says since nothing was missing it’s a low priority. Colby wants to pick it up.

Ryder finishes the washing up and joins Brody and Ziggy on the sofa. Coco also sits with them and Maggie recognises the movie they’re watching as one she and Ben once saw, calling him over. Ben asks an increasingly annoyed Brody to make some popcorn, prompting him to snap that he isn’t a servant and just wanted a romantic lunch and afternoon with his wife, storming off. Ziggy wonders if she should go after him and Maggie says to let him cool off. Brody goes to the Morgan house and tells Tori he needed somewhere to chill. She muses they haven’t had parents for a long time. Brody says she and Justin used to fill that role.

Ryder and Coco are playing a game at the table and arguing good-naturedly. Ben joins Maggie, who has emerged from a nap, and says the dishes are done. Brody hasn’t come back so Ziggy has gone looking for him. Maggie says she’s missed the chaos. Brody turns up at Salt and Ziggy appears from the kitchen. She says no-one blames him for losing his temper and thanks him for marrying into her family at a difficult time. She thinks they should start looking for their own place but stresses it has to be cheap and not a dump.

At the Diner, Colby asks Alf to go through what happened. Alf says he was working late, heard a noise and got knocked over, but it was pitch black so he didn’t see anything. Irene tells Colby that she had her credit card skimmed at Salt the same night. Alf says that neither Hunter nor Mason called the ambulance. Next morning, Colby runs into Willow who tells him about Alf trying to get her job back. He asks after Dean, wondering if Brett Dwyer was behind the break-in. Willow tries to get him to drop it, saying Brett’s in jail and Alf wasn’t hurt. Colby says if Brett did it he’ll charge him, and if he didn’t he’ll find out who did.

Tori meets with Leah and says the clinic sent her the stuff so she’s going to go through with it: Brody reminded her she’s been training for a long time. Later, Brody checks she’s okay with his idea, which both she and Justin have approved. Ziggy turns up and Brody tells her he’s found them somewhere to live. He leads her outside to a storage shed full of junk, suggesting they clear it out. Ziggy is horrified at the mess, especially the ants that seem to be swarming around the outside, and says she’s not living there.

At the station, Colby has been sent a copy of the 000 call. He listens to it on his laptop, then on headphones to make it clearer. From his expression and the fact we see footage of her making the call, it’s clear he recognises Willow’s voice. Willow is at Salt with Alf; he tells her John initially thought he was mad but eventually agreed to give her another go. Colby comes in and asks to talk to Willow downstairs. She keeps trying to avoid the issue so he eventually says he needs to question her about the break-in. Dean turns up as Colby is leading Willow out to the car; he assumes it’s about a gambling debt. Both Colby and Willow tell him to stay out of it. Dean asks Alf what’s going on. Alf says that’s a good question.
