Extended Summary

Willow checks the advert for the Triumph on her phone. Dean approaches her and she quickly hides it, claiming she was doing a credit check. She asks him about Colby. Dean says he hasn’t heard from Colby and suggests they visit him together. Willow isn’t keen but suggests they buy the cheapest thing at the Diner. This time, it’s Dean who has things to do. At the hospital, Colby tries to get Mason and Jasmine to get Tori to discharge him. Jasmine suggests he could collapse on his own. Mason says that if Colby wants to do a search for information then the hospital’s the best place to do it.

On the beach, Dean phones Taz and tells him he needs the new credit cards. At the hospital, Colby bombards Mason with questions as soon as he comes in. Mason says he’s put in a search for anyone with a hypothermic reaction in the last six years. He leaves the room and runs into Dean, saying Colby’s been awake a few hours and it’s fine to see him. Dean goes in and makes a joke about Colby only being half brain dead. Colby says he owes him and Willow for saving him. Dean admits they’re crashing at his after being kicked out of the caravan park. Colby tells him Ebony planted the burner phone.

At the Diner, Irene is trying to get Alf to call a mechanic for his engine. Justin comes in, on the phone to Nina, with the conversation ending in a heated manner. He explains Nina isn’t happy he got lawyers involved but he’s tired of it being on her terms. Alf says that’s fair enough although Irene warns him it could get ugly. To distract him, Alf asks him to look at the engine. Shortly after, Alf asks Justin about taking Robbo in. Justin says he turned himself into the police but they think he’s innocent. Roo returns and Alf tells her he wants to hear about her trip, including the bits involving Martha. Roo suggests they meet for dinner later.

Willow insists on paying Irene the full price for her coffee, seemingly all in small change. John comes in and complains about both Irene and Willow having their noses buried in their phones. Irene says she’s just had an alert from the bank about dodgy cash transactions on her credit card. She recalls she last used it at Salt a couple of days ago. John tells her to cancel it and she calls him Captain Obvious. Later, Dean arrives at the flat and starts to tell Willow about Colby and Ebony but she asks him what he’s done with the skimmer.

Alf and Roo are eating at the Diner and she talks to him about getting to know Martha. John comes in and tells Alf he thinks they need more security at the surf club, forcing Alf to tell Roo about getting knocked over. John also mentions Irene’s credit card problems. Alf realises Irene used her card at Salt the night he disturbed the intruders and suggests she tell the police. Irene calls him Captain Obvious as well. Back in the flat, Willow is angry with Dean for lying to her. She tells him she’ll have the money in the morning but won’t tell him how. She also tells him not to sleep in the same bed as her tonight.

Jasmine changes Colby’s drip. He makes a joke about putting whiskey in it and she says she hears that a lot. He acknowledges he should have listened to her about Ebony. Mason comes in and says there’s been nothing from the local hospitals but his supervisor is putting in a wider request. Jasmine suggests it’s good that Bella’s healthy but Colby says that doesn’t help him find her. Next morning, Mason and Jasmine check on Colby and Mason admits they found nothing. Colby again decides to leave the hospital, with or without permission. He thinks it’s important Bella knows about the condition, despite the others pointing out she could know or not have the gene. Colby suggests Jasmine could monitor him and Mason says he’ll have to sign a form saying he’s been discharged against medical advice.

Dean is asleep on the sofa. Willow removes a key from a drawer and sneaks out. Once she’s gone, Dean opens his eyes. Near the beach, Willow is on the phone to someone arranging for them to come and buy the Triumph, insisting the price is $10,000. Dean appears and takes the phone off her, saying it’s not for sale. Willow says she would have taken $8,000. Dean says it’s her last real link to Russell and thinks she’d regret selling it. Willow says she’s given it away before and pulls away from him.

Dean returns to the flat and calls through a door to Willow, saying he’s sorry for what he said but thinks he’s right. Willow emerges and says that since he won’t let her sell the car she had to find other ways of raising the money: She’s reinstalled the betting app. She says it’s the first bet since she lost the $3000. Dean asks if she was going to spend the rest of the money she got from the car on bets. Willow says it was for food and somewhere to live, but when Dean asks her to swear on her dad’s life that she wouldn’t have been tempted, she can’t. She goes out, passing Justin, who follows her onto the wharf. She tells him they’re not friends so he doesn’t have to pretend to care. Justin makes it clear he’s not pretending. Willow says she always hurts herself and everyone else, including him. Dean watches as Justin puts his arm round her.

Jasmine helps Colby into the flat and tells Dean he’s not supposed to be out of hospital but she’s his official nurse. Colby tells Dean he has an idea for finding Bella; Dean is interested but says there’s something he has to do first. After he’s gone, Jasmine says she wants to hear. Colby says he’s going to bombard social media with the news of Bella’s condition in the hope she responds. Meanwhile, Justin is mowing the lawn when Dean turns up and says he saw him with Willow. Justin assumes Dean’s there to warn him off but Dean says he wants Justin’s help for Willow.
