Extended Summary

Robbo runs into Alf outside the Diner flat. Alf mentions seeing McCarthy leave and ponders how Colby’s gone from the golden boy to a social leper in such a short space of time. Robbo tells him about the tip-off to the press and photo to McCarthy sent anonymously and they both wonder who’d have it in for Colby. At the Morgan house, Brody tells Tori that he’s meeting Ziggy to discuss wedding plans. Tori gives a delighted squeal which prompts Brody to wonder if she’s turned into Marilyn. He says now he understand Ziggy’s reasons, getting married feels right. He asks about her and Ash; Tori says things are slow but good.

Ben and Ziggy approach the Diner. Ziggy is now planning a tattoo parlour and photo booth and shows Ben a photo Coco sent her of a doughnut wall. She then gets a text from Brody telling her she’s running late. Alf, who’s been listening in, asks Ben if she’s planning a wedding or a circus but thinks it’s good they have something positive to focus on. Ben agrees but isn’t sure how he’ll pay for it. Alf, perhaps only half joking, suggests he takes out a second mortgage on the pier. Inside, Ziggy joins Brody, prompting Olivia to rush over and excitedly congratulate them both. She asks Ziggy if she’s thought about her dress. Ziggy says she’d be happy to get married in her overalls, then says she was joking when Olivia looks horrified and asks her for advice. Olivia says if it’s lace it has to be French, but Ziggy’s more Italian silk. Ben listens in, looking increasingly worried.

Robbo finds Ebony up on the headland and wonders about her abrupt disappearance the previous day. Ebony jokingly says she’s seeing another guy and he wondered where she was. Robbo suggests they try lunch again. Ebony agrees if he lets her do the cooking. Down on the beach, Tori compliments Ash on how he looked out in the sea. She mentions Brody and the fact that only a year ago he was in rehab and looking at jail time. They lapse into thoughtful silence.

Ebony approaches the Diner flat and seems to steel herself before knocking on the door. Robbo lets her in; Ebony has brought a box full of ingredients with her. Robbo offers her a beer. Ebony says she thought he’d say that and produces a champagne bottle and two glasses. She pours them both a glass and they take a sip. Ebony makes a show of struggling to get the lid off a jar of sauce; when Robbo goes to help, she opens it in such a way it goes over his shirt. She tells him to go and soak it. After he’s gone, she pours the vial of poison into his glass. Robbo returns and Ebony sees the photo of Kat on his phone. Robbo says she was his girlfriend and died five months ago. Ebony says her brother died recently which is why she left home.

Ziggy and Brody are sitting on the wharf with Brody suggesting they sort out the date and venue first. He suggests Salt for the reception. Ziggy wants an outside wedding but not on the beach since her parents renewed their vows there. Brody suggests Stewart Point. Ziggy says Maggie loves it there and Brody says he knows; Ziggy told him she liked it when they went there on John and Marilyn’s tour. Olivia approaches with bridal mags and Brody declines Ziggy’s request for a rescue. Back in the Diner, Olivia is telling Ziggy she needs something modern as Alf and Ben listen in slack-jawed. Olivia is delighted when Ziggy asks her to design the dress. Ben asks how much a bespoke wedding dress costs. Alf asks why Ben thinks he knows that. Ben decides to call his bank manager.

Ash and Tori arrive back at the Morgan house as Brody is going out. Brody mentions Ziggy’s plan for a doughnut wall and tells a bemused Ash to Google it. Tori says she’s not having one at her wedding. There’s an awkward silence before Tori says that wasn’t a hint. Later, Ben goes to see Brody at Salt. They both agree Ziggy’s plans are pretty wild. Ben brings up the subject of cost but Brody says he can take care of it: Salt’s doing well and he knows someone who can do a doughnut wall cheap. All Ben has to do is walk Ziggy down the aisle.

Robbo asks Ebony about her brother as they eat. Ebony says she was away at the time and it was an accident that was someone else’s fault. She adds it was unfair and her mum fell to pieces. Robbo notes he’s trying to believe Kat wants him to be happy. He goes to drink his champagne but Ebony takes it and tips it away, saying she knows he’s only drinking it for her and she’ll get him a beer. Later, as they clear up, they start kissing passionately but Robbo pulls back. Ebony goes to leave but Robbo says it’s got a bit serious and suggests they do something fun. They head down the beach, where Ebony’s phone rings. She tells Robbo it’s her mum and that’s who rang the previous day. She sends him for a swim while she talks to Hazel, telling her Robbo’s not a problem and she’ll deal with Colby her own way.

Tori notes Ash is quiet. They both agree the earlier comments weren’t a big deal and they’ve got through a rubbish six months. Ziggy then turns up and says she needs to talk to Tori about Maggie’s treatment. Ziggy then goes to see Brody and tells him she wants to get married in two weeks: Maggie’s round of chemo ends then and they don’t know what will happen afterwards. She wants Maggie to be well enough to enjoy the wedding. Brody agrees.

Olivia turns up at the Morgan house, where Ziggy, Brody, Tori and Ash are all present, aghast that she has to do the dress in two weeks. A bit of ego-massaging soon wins her over and she starts taking Ziggy’s measurements. Ash quietly tells Brody that it’s too late to back out and Brody says he doesn’t want to. Ash takes his leave. He heads down to the beach for a surf, looking pensive.
