Extended Summary
Brody, Ziggy and Coco are at the Diner. Brody offers to cook for them that evening, despite Ziggy protesting that they can look after themselves. Olivia appears but isn’t able to join them: She has a date with a “beer connoisseur”, as a result of Jasmine setting her up on Smouldr. Coco gets sent a selfie by Ben and Maggie, prompting Olivia to point to them as the ideal of what a couple should be like. Back at the Morgan house, Ash and Tori are still kissing but Tori puts a stop to it, saying it’s way too easy and they got carried away. Ash suggests it was just instinct and, despite having enjoyed the kiss, they decide to forget it.
Alf marches into Robbo’s flat and tells him that, with Hunter busy with uni, he needs someone to do some heavy lifting at the bait shop. Robbo tries to protest but it’s clear Alf isn’t taking no for an answer. After Robbo has moved the last of the outboard motors, Alf notes he has a list of things to do at the caravan park and offers Robbo more work. Robbo isn’t sure, saying he needs to think about what he’s going to do, but Alf thinks he needs to keep active so Robbo takes the list.
At the farm house, Brody gets a text from Tori telling him to bring lots of dessert. Ziggy catches Coco texting Jeremy, saying she’s been doing that all the time. Coco plans to go to her room to give Brody and Ziggy space but Ziggy insists Coco needs to talk to a real person and says they’re going to have a girlie night. Brody says he has to meet Tori, which Ziggy is fine with. At Salt, Tori and Olivia are both propping up the bar. Olivia says she had a boring date with someone who fortunately had to leave early to phone his mum. Brody comes in, wondering what Tori’s emergency is. Tori tries to be evasive but Olivia is interested too. She admits she kissed Ash.
Tori and Brody sit on the balcony. Tori tells him that she and Ash both agreed to forget it. Brody notes she’s talking herself out of it. Tori says she misses Ash but it would be a backward step, although she sounds less than convinced. Meanwhile, Ziggy and Coco have finished watching a movie…probably a horror or slasher, since it’s left them thinking they don’t want to sleep alone or have a bath alone. They recall a time Ben was reluctant to get a box from the loft because there might be a spider there and how he only did it to stop Maggie going herself. The mood sobers as Coco wonders what would happen to him if he lost Maggie. Ziggy thinks they should watch a comedy next.
Ben and Maggie are lying on the beach stargazing, although they’re somewhat hampered by the fact neither of them knows what the stars are. Ben agrees it was a good idea coming here. He decides to shower and go to bed. Maggie decides to stay up a while and thanks him for a perfect day. After he’s gone, she gets out her writing paper and starts another letter. During the night, Coco ventures out of her room, hearing Ziggy crying. She stops by Ziggy’s room but finds Ziggy in their parents’ bed. She lies down next to her and hugs her.
Next morning, Alf finds Robbo sanding down a boat first thing. He apologises if he stuck his oar in but Robbo says Alf was right and he needs to keep busy. Alf asks him about his work. Robbo says he used to be a cop, which Alf had guessed, and talks in broad strokes about throwing himself into work and going undercover when his family were killed. He says he misses helping people. Alf suggests he finds a job that gives him the same feeling. Inside the Diner, Marilyn finds Olivia swiping left on quite a few potential dates. She suggests Olivia looks in the real world.
Maggie is sitting outside the villa, looking at a letter she’s written to Ben; there are others for the girls. Ben appears to call her in for breakfast. He comments on her staying out late and she claims she was just thinking. Ben says he has egg, bacon and pastries: Everything they need for breakfast. Maggie says not everything. They go home to share the breakfast with Ziggy and Coco. Coco volunteers to help Ben cook. Ziggy privately admits to Maggie that she missed her. Maggie comments that she never expected to hear that from her. She asks if Ziggy’s happy with Brody, saying that’s all she wants for her.
Brody has taken Ash for a walk along the headland, claiming there’s a problem with his car. They run into Tori, who Brody also summoned there. Brody says they need to talk and leaves them alone. Ash thinks Brody needs a slap but also thinks he’s right. Tori agrees that Ash was good with Robbo before and that he seems to be back to his old self. They acknowledge that they’ve hurt each other but the chat ends with another kiss.
Ziggy offers to put Maggie’s bag in her room. Maggie says to just leave it there but Ziggy starts unpacking and finds the letters. Ben and Coco come in and Ziggy shows them the envelopes, just before Maggie enters. They follow her into the living area. Maggie says they were something she had to do…just in case. There’s an awkward pause and Maggie says she can’t pretend she isn’t ill. Ben says he doesn’t want her giving up and walks out. No-one seems to quite know what to say.
