Extended Summary

Justin and Willow are getting dressed, with Willow wondering how she didn’t know Justin had a kid. Justin protests it never came up and responds to Nina and Ava’s calls by saying he’s just coming. He awkwardly introduces Willow to them as his girlfriend. Willow says she’s just going. Justin gives Ava a hug of greeting and asks what they’re doing there. Nina apologises for not calling ahead, saying Ava wanted to surprise him. Ava asks where Buddy is and Justin leads her outside. At the Diner flat, Robbo thanks Tori for helping him say goodbye. Tori suggests Kat would want him to fight the charges and offers to help. She leaves him to think about it.

Outside, Tori runs into Mason, who tells her he’s got his placement back at the hospital and they’ve rostered him on for an evening shift tonight. After Tori’s gone, Jasmine appears and Mason tells her the same thing, asking for some advice. Tori heads to Salt where she meets up with Colby. She tells him about taking Robbo to Kat’s grave and thinks it helped. He offers to buy her breakfast. As he goes to the counter, Dean appears from the balcony on the phone to Ash, asking him for an advance. He asks the server for a bacon and egg roll, then, checking his wallet, changes it to just a coffee.

Nina is on the phone, saying she hasn’t told him yet. Justin comes back in and asks what’s going on. Nina explains she and Brian were about to go on their first holiday and her parents were meant to be looking after Ava but her mum’s broken her leg and Ava said she’d rather stay with Justin. It’ll be for a month. Justin is shocked but agrees. Ava comes back in and asks where Raffy is. Justin says he’ll tell her while they go for ice cream and sends her to put Buddy on his lead. At the Diner, Jasmine is on the phone while Marilyn interrogates Mason about how friendly they are and Alf tells her to leave him alone. Jasmine reappears and says she has less money than she thought so needs to go back to her life in the city and get some casual shifts. Mason suggests she move to Summer Bay permanently. Jasmine says she can’t go on living in a caravan and Marilyn says there’s places to rent on the board. Jasmine is a bit bemused at everyone organising her life.

Robbo joins Colby and Tori at Salt. He says he’s going to put in more effort at the psych sessions and also fight the charges, but asks what he has to do. Tori asks Colby if he knows any good lawyers. Colby decides to remove himself from the conversation. Nearby, Dean is confused when the server tries to give him a lunch bag. She says Colby paid. Dean follows Colby outside and says he can’t buy him off like that when he ditched him. Colby protests that they’re friends but things look set to get heated until Willow steps in. Colby leaves and Willow asks Dean what happened between them. Dean says Colby sold out but Willow can tell it’s more than that. Dean tells her to drop it.

Justin and Nina are walking and talking near the beach, with Ava walking Buddy ahead of them. Nina asks why Raffy isn’t living there. Justin says it’s tricky but it means Ava can have her room. Nina is starting to get uncertain about Ava staying there and asks about Willow. Justin says it’s still new and he’ll be doing most of the work with Ava. Nina agrees to Ava staying. At the Diner, Tori joins Mason and Jasmine. They explain that they’ve found out there’s a permanent RN position at the hospital and Jasmine has an interview for it. Tori agrees to give her some pointers. Jasmine goes to get the coffee and Tori asks Mason what’s going on between them.

Justin and Willow have met at Salt. Willow wonders why Justin told her all about witness protection but not about Ava, wondering if he expected her to bolt. Justin says it’s not that: He didn’t want her to know about how little he’s had to do with Ava. Willow says she’s awesome with kids but Justin isn’t keen for her to spend time with Ava and says he has to get back to her. Willow finds Dean on the beach, putting together wood for a fire. He says he’s throwing a party and invites her to spend time with him and the Boys. Willow says she’s nothing better to do but refuses a sip from his drink, recognising it as Mozzy’s home brew and saying she’s not seventeen and stupid anymore. She recalls how he and Colby used to throw parties and wonders again about their rift, wondering if one of them owes the other money or if he stole Colby’s girl. Dean continues to dodge.

At the Morgan house, Tori is on the phone to Juliet, chatting about Robbo. Justin comes in with Ava’s bag and explains she’s staying. Tori says it’s a tricky time, since they’ve just sent Raffy to stay with the Palmers, but understands that he sees this as a chance to prove he can be a father. After Justin has gone into his room, Robbo arrives and tells Tori that he’s got a court summons for two weeks. Justin is shocked to see Robbo there and orders him out; Tori says she’ll meet Robbo at his. Justin stresses he can’t be there while Ava’s around. Meanwhile, Jasmine returns to the Diner and tells Mason that the interview went well and she has a casual shift there tonight. She gives him a brief hug to say thanks.

Nina and Ava have joined Justin at the Morgan house. Nina notes that she was hoping to see Tori. Justin hastily says she’s busy at work. Nina says her goodbyes to Ava, saying to call her if anything happens. Justin promises everything will be fine. At the Diner flat, Tori shows Robbo a list of lawyers who will work pro bono. Robbo says he’ll do the leg work, noting he can’t run away from what he’s done. Colby, listening in, seems affected by this and heads out.

At the hospital, Mason shows Jasmine his ID (which appears to feature an old photo) and admits he’s not sure he remembers much. Jasmine reassures him, saying it’s his second year placement. Mason notes it’s quiet and Jasmine tells him not to jinx it. Down on the beach, Dean continues to refuse to tell Willow about his and Colby’s falling out. He goes to kiss her but she turns away, saying she’s with someone else. She asks how many beers he’s had, since he seems inebriated, but he says it’s only his second. Colby watches them from a distance. Dean notes he messaged the Boys but none replied. Willow says they have real lives now: Jobs, wives and kids. Colby comes over and tells Dean they’ll sort it out like they used to, inviting him to hit him. Dean says that’s not enough, saying he lost everything in “the crash” and Colby just left him. He then collapses and starts fitting. Colby calls an ambulance.
