Extended Summary

Colby and Robbo are eating in silence at the flat. Colby tries to get Robbo to lighten up but Robbo isn’t entirely receptive. He tries to go out, pointing out he has his tag on, but Colby says it’s not as simple as that: Colby made a promise to the town and that means Robbo lying low for a while. Meanwhile, Justin finds Brody working a late shift at Salt and suspects he’s avoiding Tori. Brody confirms it but says it’s because of what she’s done now: She got Robbo out on bail. Justin is frustrated. Willow turns up, dressed up for a date with Justin, but he tells her he has family issues to deal with.

Tori is on the phone to Pickford arranging psych appointments for Robbo when Justin gets home. He is bewildered at her continuing to obsess about Robbo but Tori says she’s going to see it through and is fed up of having to justify herself. Justin asks if she’s willing to hurt Ash and her family to help him and Tori says she is. Next morning, Ash is showing Dean around the garage where he’ll be doing menial jobs. Dean notices he is distracted and says he heard about Robbo being out. Ash says Robbo has everyone fooled and Dean replies that he can’t keep up the act for long. This seems to give Ash an idea and he tells Dean to hold the fort until Ziggy gets there.

Irene serves Maggie and Ziggy at the Diner. Maggie is looking over paperwork for repairs at the school and says Ben has gone to Yabbie Creek before taking her to chemotherapy. Ziggy offers to take the day off work to keep an eye on her but Maggie says the last thing they need is her losing her job and she’ll call if she needs anything. Ziggy heads to the garage, chatting to Justin on the phone as she gets there and insisting she’s not late. She calls out for Ash but gets no response, then hears someone in the office. She grabs a tool to defend herself but naturally it’s Dean, who explains he works there now. Ziggy gives him a few instructions on what to do.

Robbo is pacing in the flat, having flashbacks of Kat: The first time they slept together, shortly after his proposal, the dance on the restaurant balcony for her birthday, the time together at the cabin. Ash turns up and Robbo tells him to get on with whatever he’s going to do. Ash says that’s not what he’s there for: He wants answers. Meanwhile, at Salt, Justin is confused by Willow wanting to go on a picnic until she spells out that she wants to go on a long drive to somewhere private. Ziggy comes in, on the phone to Ben asking him about Maggie’s chemo. She tells Justin she needed a break from Dean, who has been retuning the radio for something to do, and asks if his being there means they want her to leave. Brody overhears and is concerned but Justin assures them it’s Ash’s appointment and Ziggy’s job is safe. He asks Brody for food for the picnic and both Brody and Ziggy look slightly ill as Justin and Willow talk in not-particularly-veiled terms about what they’re really going to do. Justin tells Ziggy break’s over and they both leave.

Ash asks Robbo how Ash ended up as the bad guy and Robbo ended up getting all the sympathy. Robbo says he’s not won and sees Kat everywhere, but isn’t going to run anymore. Ash observes he’s got nowhere to run to, telling him that the house he set up for Kat and Ash’s baby has gone: He burned it down. Robbo furiously lunges at him and pins him down on the sofa. Colby comes in and pulls him off. Ash says that’s the real Robbo and hopes Colby can sleep easily. He goes to Salt and tells Tori that Robbo just went for him. Tori guesses that Ash provoked him and refuses to stop helping him. Ash tells her he gives up. Brody has overheard and approaches Tori, questioning her decisions. Tori says she believes in second chances. Brody points out he can’t associate with known criminals while on his bond. Tori says he doesn’t have to see Robbo. Brody adds that Raffy can’t come home while it’s going on and the whole family is caught up in her crusade. Tori gets a text from Colby asking her to come over.

Justin and Ziggy turn up at the garage and find Dean sleeping in one of the cars. He tells them he was bored: No-one was there to tell him what to do and he’s not allowed to work on the cars. Justin gets annoyed which increases when Dean suggests his temper is more to do with Dean’s involvement with Willow. Justin tells him to get out. Dean tries to back down but Justin says he’s fired. Dean heads to the caravan park where Willow is loading up the Triumph. He tells her about being sacked. Willow offers to talk to Justin but Dean says Justin was looking for an excuse to fire him and he’ll sort it out in his own way. He admires the car but Willow tells him to keep his hands off. In an exchange loaded with double meaning, Dean says he’ll wait for “her” to come to him.

Ash arrives back at the garage and Justin tells him he let Dean go: There wasn’t really a job for him and he had a bad attitude. Ash says Dean supported him and he isn’t impressed with Tori’s latest stunt. Justin tries to get him to just concentrate on the garage. Ash retorts that Justin can give him advice when he’s buried someone he loves. Justin points out the irony. Meanwhile, Tori tries to talk to Robbo at the flat and asks Colby to give them space. Robbo tells her about Ash burning down his home. Tori tells him they need to start the psych sessions but Robbo doesn’t see the point. Tori tries to tell him it will bring him peace and get his memory back but Robbo says it won’t bring back his family, Kat or his home and he’s only doing them because of the court order.

Ash finds Dean, who is looking over the Triumph and admits Justin did a good job. Ash tells him he’s rehired and Dean notes it would have helped if Ash hadn’t left him on his own. Ash admits he achieved nothing with Robbo. Dean offers to have him killed but Ash says he isn’t going to do anything…yet. Later, Justin and Willow turn up at the park, bantering about blankets. Willow asks him about firing Dean and Justin reluctantly agrees to make an effort with him for her sake. Willow says he’s a better friend than an enemy. She then realises the Triumph is gone. They track down Dean on the headland and accuses him of taking the car. Dean insists he didn’t; Willow says he did once before and he replies that she didn’t speak to him for a month and he learned his lesson. Justin and Dean start scuffling and Willow has to step in.
