Roo and Alf are still in peril – will they be found in time? Ash is released and hell bent on revenge. Can Tori break through to Robbo before Ash finds them?

Extended Summary

Near the surf club, Ryder quizzes John and Marilyn about when they last saw Alf and Roo. Marilyn isn’t getting an answer on the phone from either of them. John suggests they might have gone out on the boat. Brody and Mason come along and Marilyn asks them if they’ve seen the pair. Since they were last seen at the school, Brody volunteers himself and Mason to check it out, while Ryder goes home to see if they’re there. John and Marilyn try to convince themselves everything’s fine. At the school, Roo is confused and asks Alf where Martha is but Alf is mumbling incoherently so she gives up. She attempts to retrieve his phone.

At the police station, Colby has given Ash a list of rules he needs to follow before being discharged, pointing out that they include not going after Robbo or going near Justin, who’s still in hospital. Ash asks if he’s okay and signs the form. Colby tells him he’ll go once he’s been processed. Colby leaves the reception area and moments later Dean comes in. Soon after, Ash and Dean are in the lift at the hospital; Ash thanks Dean for bailing him out. They go to Justin’s room; Ash apologises for running him off the road but then asks about Robbo being in the car. Justin says it was a mistake and he didn’t know it was Ash chasing him. Dean doesn’t believe him but Justin tells him to get out and Ash agrees. Ash tries to get Justin to tell him about Robbo between the two of them but Justin maintains Ash is barking up the wrong tree.

Tori is with Robbo at the motel; she has set up an antibiotic drip and notes it’s working. She gets a text from Justin saying Ash is onto them. Robbo comes to and apologises to her. He asks where he is. Tori explains and Robbo recalls Justin trying to get him out of town. Meanwhile, Brody and Mason arrive at the school, using their phones as torches, and note that the doors are unlocked, the electricity’s out and Alf and Roo’s cars are outside. They call out and Roo responds. They find the hole; Roo tells them she thinks Alf’s having a heart attack. Mason gets Brody to call 000 and asks Roo where there’s a rope or ladder for him to get down. Roo suggests the gym and Brody hurries off.

Ash and Dean are outside the Morgan house. Ash notes there’s no-one home except Buddy. He calls Tori, who is still at the motel. He accuses her of dodging his calls. Tori claims she is at work. Robbo hears a reference to Justin being in hospital and asks what happened. Ash doesn’t believe Tori, who abruptly hangs up. Ash and Dean are about to leave when Ash notices the garage. He breaks in and they take in the medical supplies and blood stains.

Brody meets up with Colby as he returns to the classroom with the rope. Mason ties it around himself and the others lower him down. He checks over Alf, with Roo giving him information. He notes they need aspirin and Roo says there’s some in her bag by the desk. Brody finds it and drops it down. Mason gives Alf a pill to chew on. At the motel, Tori gets a text from Justin asking about Robbo. Robbo reappears having got changed. He thinks he should go but Tori thinks he should wait, since Ash is on the prowl, and needs a plan. Robbo asks why she’s helping him. Tori says that no-one else is but Robbo doesn’t think he deserves it. He says the only memories he has involve Kat and she’s gone. Tori asks him about the photo.

Ambulance officer Karen joins Brody and Colby at the school. She wants Mason and Roo out of the hole but neither wants to leave Alf. Karen lowers a medical bag down. Mason gives Alf oxygen and he seems to recover for a moment but then starts getting more chest pains. Mason is unable to shift the rubble and asks for a jack; Colby goes to get one. A short time later, Alf is on a stretcher with ropes attached. Mason climbs back up, telling the ambos to get the defibrilator ready since Alf is unstable, and Alf is hauled out and wheeled out on a gurney. Brody goes back to help Colby retrieve Roo while Mason goes in the ambulance.

Robbo says his memory of the people in the photograph feels just out of reach. Tori gets a call from the hospital and heads off. She meets Mason who tells her that Alf needed to be shocked but is now fully conscious. Alf asks about Roo, saying he needs to talk to her. Tori says they need to get him stable first. Meanwhile, Brody and Mason arrive home and find Ash and Dean in the house, waiting for Tori. Mason says he just left her at the hospital but they don’t really believe him. Brody and Mason are nonplussed when they insist Robbo was in their garage. Brody is angry with Ash over Justin’s accident and yells at him to get out. Dean realises they’re not going to get anything and convinces Ash they should go.

Colby and Roo arrive at the hospital. Tori wants to look over Roo’s injuries but she wants to see Alf. She is shown to Alf’s room where Justin is chatting to him. Justin and Tori leave. Alf notes Roo must have questions. Roo is bewildered at the idea Martha’s been pretending to be dead for over thirty years and asks if Alf’s known all that time. Alf starts to stammer an explanation but Roo says it can wait. She takes his hand when he offers it to her but walks away when he tries to call her back.

Next morning, Dean meets Ash by the beach. Ash has got confirmation from Murray that Robbo was seen in the car. Dean wonders why he’d come back to Summer Bay but Ash says he’s got nowhere else to go and to get away he needs help. He tells Dean to search everywhere connected with the Morgans, such as the gym, Salt and the garage: Find Robbo and bring him to him. Meanwhile, Tori rejoins Robbo at the motel and tells him about Alf and Roo being trapped down a sinkhole and Alf having a heart attack. Robbo says he remembers the woman in the photo is called Lauren but has no idea how he knows her.
