Extended Summary
Ben comes out and finds Coco lying prone on the ground. He calls out to Maggie who comes running; Coco’s eyes are open but she isn’t responding. At the beach house, Olivia is using the sewing machine in the living area (explaining that the light’s better downstairs than in her room) even though Hunter’s trying to study. She tells him she’s nearly finished and suggests he takes a break. Hunter agrees to stop for twenty minutes and Olivia asks him to post some orders for her.
Coco is brought into the hospital, trailed by Ben, Maggie and Ziggy. Tori meets them and gets their account of events. She asks Coco how much she’s eaten that day and Coco says a bit. Tori says it sounds like a seizure, more serious than last time, and orders a battery of tests. Later, Ziggy is complaining about the out of date magazine. Tori comes in and says there’s no indication of epilepsy but the ECG was inconclusive and there’s a severe electrolyte imbalance. Coco asks to speak to Tori alone and her family are ushered out. Tori says they both know what’s caused it. Coco insists she’s got it under control and tells Tori not to tell her parents, despite her pointing out they’ll know something’s wrong. In the corridor, Ben and Maggie wonder what Coco and Tori are hiding, while Ziggy is more dismissive. Tori comes out but can’t tell them anything except that Coco will be safe there. She suggests they go for food and Ziggy convinces her parents to agree. Maggie tries to get Tori to promise that Coco will be all right but she doesn’t.
Alf, John and Kat are outside the surf club with John complaining that it’s the second case of vandalism they’ve had recently. Someone broke in and stole some food and drink and $200 from the kiosk but the main problem is that they need to replace the motor on the bay doors, which was wrecked by them being forced. Robbo comes over as Alf notes there’s no point claiming on the insurance. Shortly after, at the Diner flat, Kat notes that she has no night shifts so she can drink wine but Robbo is preoccupied by the business at the surf club. He says Alf and John have both been good to him and he wants to help out by organising a fundraiser. However, he’s not too distracted to share the wine and a kiss with Kat.
At the Diner, Alf chats to Leah about the vandalism. Ben, Maggie and Ziggy come in and explain they didn’t get round to the moussaka because of Coco fitting and going to hospital. Leah admits to Alf that she might know what’s wrong and he encourages her to tell them. She tells the Astonis about Coco making herself sick after binge eating. Ziggy realises she’s bulimic. Ben asks if it was only the once and Leah explains VJ heard it too and Coco admitted it. She explains she didn’t want to betray Coco’s trust but Ben and Maggie are both angry, saying if she’d told them they could have done something. They walk out. Ziggy lingers to check it was that which Leah was talking to Coco about earlier, also saying she should have said something. Back at the hospital, Tori tells Coco her electrolyte levels are up. Coco wants to leave but Tori wants her to see a counsellor. Ben and Maggie turn up with Ziggy and explain Leah told them. They think they could have helped her but Coco says she knows it’s disgusting but she can’t stop.
At the surf club, Kat and Robbo put the latter’s idea to John and Marilyn. Robbo suggests a sausage sizzle but is stunned when John and Marilyn instantly start suggesting much bigger ideas than he’d envisioned. Marilyn calls over to Brody, suggesting he cook his famous burger for them; Brody says he’ll help out but not with cooking. Olivia volunteers herself and a reluctant Hunter to help out with the decorations. Brody confirms that there’s some in Salt. He texts Felicity to ask if they can borrow them, then he and Marilyn go upstairs to get them from the store room. Marilyn suggests it’s difficult for him being back there. Brody says it’s not the first time but admits that while he used to love cooking for people, now it’s just a reminder of how much he messed up. Marilyn advises him not to lose it.
Coco tells her family that it started with the move and having trouble making friends; she threw up because she felt bad after binge eating but tried to get it under control. She bemoans that she’s meant to be the responsible one but is instead the one causing trouble. Tori comes in and says she wants to keep Coco in for monitoring and also suggests seeing a counsellor. After Ben and Maggie have followed Tori out, Ziggy tells Coco she should have come to her. However, Coco retorts that it’s Ziggy’s fault: She had things under control until she found out Ziggy’s secret and now she’s lying to their parents and keeping secrets. She says she can’t do it anymore and if Ziggy doesn’t tell the truth she will.
John and Kat make plans to do 350 sausages; Robbo is looking rather shell-shocked and Kat tries to reassure him that this is normal. Olivia offers to have Liv Design sponsor the event, covering the start-up costs in exchange for advertising. John and Kat plan to have a raffle and get local businesses to donate prizes, which again leaves Robbo open-mouthed. Olivia heads home and tells Hunter about the sponsorship. Hunter wonders how Irene will feel and Olivia replies that Irene’s a silent partner and it’s marketing. Even though she says she can manage without him, Hunter offers to help her design the flyers.
That evening, Ben and Maggie are with Coco in her room; Ziggy has gone home to rest. Coco asks if she said anything and it’s clear from their response that she didn’t. Ziggy arrives home and looks at a family photo of the four of them. Coco is asleep and Maggie wonders how they missed it. Ziggy writes a note. Next morning, Ben and Maggie arrive home to shower. Maggie calls out to Ziggy but finds she isn’t in her room. Then they find her note: All it says is that she can’t stay in Summer Bay.
Robbo emerges from the shower block at the caravan park to find Kat waiting for him. She suggests he should be excited about the event but also says that they can set up without them and leads him to his caravan. Novak watches them from outside another caravan. Alf brings him some towels and asks if he’s in town for business or pleasure. Novak says it’s a bit of both.
