Extended Summary
Outside the surf club, Brody is helping Marilyn set up a tarot card table. Nearby, John is working the barbecue and Marilyn and Brody comment on the excessive smoke. Justin comes past on his way back from a surf and finds out about the fundraiser; he says he’ll help out once he’s had a shower. Nearby, Hunter is helping Olivia set up a Liv Design stall. Irene queries him being there instead of studying and he assures her he’s just helping with the set-up; Olivia has a friend coming to help but she’s late. Inside, Scarlett is coming out of the gym and runs into Justin, who has got changed. She tells him that Caleb’s gone but she still hasn’t worked out what she wants. A puzzled Kat watches the exchange from nearby.
At the farmhouse, Maggie is leaving a phone message for Ziggy and says she doesn’t understand. She asks Ben if he thinks there are problems with Brody that they don’t know about but Ben says Ziggy doesn’t seem to have had a problem with anything apart from the gazebo recently. He says she’s always come back before but Maggie says it feels different this time. They decide to ask around and see if someone knows something. At the Diner flat, Kat has come back for some sun tan lotion and invites Scarlett to the fundraiser before saying she saw her with Justin. Scarlett admits Caleb wants her back. She says she thought she and Caleb were unsalvageable after Max and before he came back she was ready to start something with Justin, but now she’s waiting for a light bulb moment.
Olivia gets off the phone and tells Hunter that Carly, the friend who was meant to be helping out, has got a sore throat; she also tried to ring Ziggy but didn’t get an answer. Hunter says he can stay for another hour so Olivia asks him to man the stall while she decorates inside. Maggie asks her if she’s seen Ziggy and she says no. Nearby, Ben asks Brody, who is helping Justin move things, much the same thing in a more confrontational manner; Brody says he doesn’t know anything and Justin backs him up. Maggie warns Ben not to start a fight. Outside, John thinks he’s cooked a sausage but Irene and Brody tells him it’s underdone. Maggie leaves another message for Ziggy and notes Coco is waiting for them. She asks Ben if he believed Brody and he says he believed Justin. They decide Maggie should go and see Coco while Ben keeps looking. Robbo asks Alf if he can help; Alf tells him John has used up all the gas for the barbecue and sends Robbo to the caravan park to get another bottle.
Robbo jogs up to the caravan park and finds the gas bottle. Novak watches him from his caravan window and apparently removes a set of latex gloves (although his hands are in his pockets subsequently). He approaches Robbo and greets him but when Robbo reacts with confusion, Novak says he mistook him for someone else. At the surf club, Robbo has delivered the gas bottle and tells Justin, who is sorting out some music, about the man at the caravan park. He briefly chats with Kat before going to look for Alf. Kat tells Justin that Scarlett filled her in and suggests he goes talk to her.
Justin heads to the Diner flat and tells Scarlett he won’t pester her for an answer but thinks she should come to the event and have fun with the rest of them. Downstairs, Ben and Maggie meet up and compare notes. Coco is having another session with the counsellor and Maggie didn’t tell her about Ziggy. Ben hasn’t found any trace of her. Maggie gets another text from Ziggy saying that she’s okay, they were right about Brody and she can’t stay.
John attempts to serve Scarlett a burnt sausage which prompts Brody to give up and take over the cooking. Robbo asks Alf if he needs any help selling tickets but Alf says there’s only one left and convinces Robbo to buy it. He then asks him to set up the microphone. Irene is annoyed to find Hunter still helping Olivia and sends him home. Olivia tries to explain but Irene tells her they should be supporting him over his HSC. Alf announces a musical number by Justin and he sings a guitar-accompanied song that seems to move Scarlett in particular. Alf then calls Robbo up on stage to thank him, even though Robbo thinks he hasn’t done anything. Robbo makes a brief speech saying they all know how to put on a fundraiser. Alf gets Robbo to draw the first prize in the raffle, a bush holiday for four…and he draws his own ticket!
Hunter is studying round the back of the beach house when Olivia turns up, having left Irene on the stall. She says she’s been selfish and is there to help him study in whichever way he needs her. She gets an e-mail alert for another order but puts the phone aside and carries on helping him. At the farmhouse, Ben sits looking at the family photo Ziggy looked at before and another one of a young Coco with a dog. Maggie finishes a phone call from Coco, who’s ready to be picked up. They’ve heard nothing more from Ziggy but Ben suggests they don’t need to, pointing out when they were her age they already had her and were independent. He suggests they focus on Coco, given that they missed her bulimia. They head off to collect her.
Kat, Justin, Robbo and Scarlett arrive back at the Diner flat. Robbo isn’t keen on the holiday since he’s had enough of living in the bush. Kat and Scarlett say there’ll be home comforts this time but Justin thinks that misses the point of going camping. Kat suggests Justin and Scarlett go with them and after a bit of pushing they agree. Justin suggests they go that weekend; Kat thinks it’s a good idea since she has the trial afterwards. At the surf club, Brody has finished cleaning out the barbecue. Irene and Marilyn suggest he help them out at the Diner. Brody is uncertain since he thinks he should be slowing down but they tell him that he can only do one shift a week if he wants and it’ll be less intense than Salt. Brody agrees.
At the caravan park, Kat and Robbo finish packing and join Justin and Scarlett in the car. Nearby, Novak watches them from his own car. He is speaking to someone on the phone, saying Robbo didn’t recognise him and has gone off mission so they’ll have to move on to Plan B. As the others drive off, Novak follows them…
