Extended Summary

At the diner Marilyn, Leah, Justin and John give Robbo date suggestions as he wants to make it up to Kat for not doing anything special for her birthday. Marilyn, Leah and Justin help Robbo plan his surprise for Kat, each of them all having a part to play. Leah keeps Kat distracted and out of the apartment during a morning run, although she struggles to keep up with a very fit Kat. Leah and Marilyn continue to keep Kat distracted and prevent her from returning to the apartment until they get the all-clear from Justin. When Kat returns to the apartment, she finds a dress and a note from Robbo waiting. After getting dressed up Kat finds Robbo waiting outside, also looking smartly dressed, standing beside a flashy car. Robbo impresses Kat by taking her out to lunch at a nice place in the city with a view of the harbour. Kat asks Robbo how he managed to pull all of this together in such a short space of time and he admits that he had some help from the community. Just when Kat thinks things couldn’t get any better Robbo gives Kat her birthday present, a beautiful necklace. Robbo and Kat dance happily together and express how much they mean to one another and agree that they both see a future together. But during this happy moment a mysterious man controls a drone from his van and takes pictures of Robbo and Kat together. Who is he and what does he want?

The Astonis prepare for dinner when Coco gets a phone call from Raffy about Maggie. The Astonis hurry down to the school and anxiously check if Maggie is okay. They ask Raffy what has happened and what she was doing at the school after hours and she explains that she threw a rock through the window but didn’t know that Maggie was in there and assures them she didn’t mean to scare her. Ben tells Ziggy to get Raffy out of there but Ziggy refuses to leave Maggie’s side so Coco goes with Raffy. Maggie assures her worried family that she is fine. Later that night when John drops Coco back to the house Ben explains why Maggie is so shaken up; a similar incidence happened a few years ago at her previous school where some vandals broke in and Maggie was whacked on the head and has had migraines ever since. Coco and Ziggy argue over taking care of Maggie. Coco backs off, puzzled by her sister’s attentive behaviour. John and Marilyn chide Raffy for her behaviour, concerned that she has been acting out and ask if everything is okay. Raffy assures that she is fine, just angry at the school and for being blamed for damaging Roo’s windshield. Raffy visits Maggie the next morning at the farmhouse and sincerely apologises for the night before. Raffy asks what her punishment will be and if the police will be called. Marilyn assures that Raffy will be working at the diner until she can save up enough money to cover the damages. The rest of the Astoni family sees this as reasonable… except for Ziggy who flies off the handle, exclaiming that Raffy shouldn’t get away with it. Justin talks to Raffy about what has happened and asks if she is okay, knowing that there must be a reason why she is acting out. Raffy confesses that she feels like she doesn’t fit in anywhere and has no friends and no one to support her. Justin reminds her that she always has them/her family but realises that he hasn’t really been there for her; she hasn’t even been living with them. Justin concedes that it’s time for that to change and much to Raffy’s delight suggests that she moves back in.

Later, when Maggie is taking a nap Ziggy goes in to check on her. While Maggie is sleeping Ziggy apologises… but what for? Coco listens in from the doorway, her suspicions aroused. Coco sneaks into Ziggy’s room and finds a news clipping about the previous school break in. When Ziggy catches Coco snooping Coco interrogates her about the article. Why has she kept it? Coco begins to suspect that Ziggy was there that night although she profusely denies it. But as Coco keeps applying the pressure Ziggy cracks and admits that her friends were the ones who broke in that night, and she was indeed there. She explains how Pete, her then boyfriend, was the one who hurt Maggie, but it was an accident. Coco exclaims that Ziggy must tell Maggie the truth, but Ziggy begs Coco not to say anything; the truth will tear their family apart. When Maggie wakes up from her nap Coco pressures Ziggy to tell Maggie the truth but Ziggy refuses. Frustrated, Coco storms out. She finds a safe haven outside and binge eats. Leah spots her as she packs up her things and suddenly rushes off into a nearby public bathroom. Leah follows to make sure she is okay and hears Coco being sick. Leah asks Coco if she is okay and questions whether or not Coco just made herself sick on purpose.
