Extended Summary

Marilyn wishes Tori good luck for her first official date with Ash. John suggests to Marilyn that they go to Salt for lunch and it isn’t lost on Marilyn that this is coincidentally where Ash and Tori’s date will be. When Tori and Ash arrive at Salt for their date Marilyn and John sit at the bar watching. Despite Marilyn’s protests John goes over to chat with them, claiming that he just wants to help them break the ice. John clumsily knocks Ash’s drink over, drenching his shirt. Ash hurries out to clean himself up as Marilyn apologises profusely for John’s behaviour. When Ash and Tori finally get back to their date and start chatting, they are interrupted yet again; Leah is calling asking for medical help with Coco. Ash insists that Tori go and promises that he’ll be waiting for her when she’s finished. John invites Ash to join him and Marilyn. When Tori returns to Salt Ash has indeed waited for her and complains about having to endure John’s stories but says that it was worth it. They share a passionate kiss. As the date comes to a close, Ash and Tori agree that despite the interruptions, they both had a great time. There is tension between them as they both try to gather whether or not the other wants the night to continue. Ash finally remarks that he better get back to Luc. Tori is totally understanding but as Ash walks off she looks disappointed that things didn’t go any further.

When Leah catches Coco after making herself sick she scrambles to come up with an explanation to appease Leah; insisting that she just had a stomach bug. It takes some work since Leah can see the heap of junk food in Coco’s bag but eventually Leah accepts Coco’s explanation. Later at the diner Leah tells Hunter and VJ that Coco wasn’t feeling well and VJ off-handedly asks whether or not it is food poisoning again. Leah is horrified to discover that not only has Coco been sick before she has also had a couple of fainting spells. Leah heads over to the Astonis place to talk to Coco and see how she is doing. Her parents aren’t home, and Leah gently convinces Coco to tell her what has really been going on. Coco gingerly confesses that she makes herself sick after she’s eaten too much. Leah suggests that Coco tell her parents about what is going on but Coco panics; she doesn’t want them to know. Leah promises to abide by Coco’s wishes and keep her secret but pushes her to see a doctor instead. Coco refuses, adamant that she doesn’t need to because she won’t make herself sick again.

Tori arrives and Leah leaves them alone to chat. Tori tries to convince Coco to open up about what brings on the stress that causes her to overeat. Coco admits that moving to the bay has been hard for her and she feels like she doesn’t fit in. Tori suggests that Coco come down to the hospital so that Tori can do a check up and run some tests, but this causes Coco to panic. She insists that she is fine and after confirming that Tori won’t tell her parents scurries off. Tori updates Leah about her talk with Coco; due to patient confidentiality Tori is unable to inform Coco’s parents about what is going on. Leah could tell Ben and Maggie but by doing so risks breaking Coco’s trust. What will Leah do? Leah stops by the farmhouse again and gives Coco some homemade soup. Coco again implores Leah to keep her secret safe. Leah assures that she will as long as Coco let’s her help. Leah puts her number in Coco’s phone and encourages Coco to call her if she ever feels this way again.

Irene checks in with Olivia about how her business plan is progressing. Olivia claims to have applied for a loan and given her business plan to the bank but is still waiting to hear back from them. Olivia meets her uni friend in the surf club carpark for a business deal. Olivia pays her for making clothes orders for her website. They agree to meet at the same time new week. As Olivia counts and hides her remaining money Hunter appears and suggests that they hang out. Olivia makes multiple excuses to return home leaving Hunter baffled by her strange behaviour. When Olivia arrives home Hunter interrogates her about the fifteen new orders on her website in 24 hours. Hunter opens the box Olivia is holding and discovers the garments. Olivia is a deer caught in the headlights as she scrambles to explain how she was able to get the clothes made. Olivia has to think on her feet in order to believably answer all of Hunter’s questions; she lies that she arranged a bartering system with her uni friends. Hunter believes Olivia but is left confused about why she tried to hide it from him. Hunter later tells Irene about Olivia’s business and supposed bartering system. Irene opens the mail and is shocked to discover that $5000 has been withdrawn from Olivia’s trust fund. Irene and Hunter put two and two together. When Irene questions Olivia about the missing money from her account she plays dumb, but Irene isn’t fooled and sternly demands an explanation.
