Extended Summary

Irene is super disappointed in Olivia and demands that she return the money to her trust fund account. Olivia insists that she is sorry and will return the money when she can; she can’t at the moment because she’s already spent it. Irene and Hunter are both dismayed that Olivia has lied to them and hurt that she has broken their trust. Olivia tries to make amends with Hunter the next morning but he won’t let go of things so easily; Irene would do anything for Olivia and she has really hurt her. Olivia implores Hunter to see that she had no other choice; this business is her dream. When Irene tells Leah about this drama with Olivia at the diner VJ overhears and sticks up for Olivia, telling Irene that he thinks she is being too hard on her. Olivia promises Irene that even though it might take a while she will pay the money back as soon as she starts making a profit. Olivia shows Irene her business plan and asks her to be supportive and believe in her and her dream. Irene shows Leah Olivia’s business plan for a second opinion and Leah agrees that it is solid. Irene expresses her fears that Olivia is young and so much could go wrong. Leah agrees that Olivia will probably make mistakes but she’ll learn from them. Irene fully supports Olivia’s business plan and decides to invest her own money in LivDesigns. Olivia is gobsmacked and thankful, surprised by this turnaround. Irene offers her support to Olivia and expresses how proud Olivia’s mother would be.

Tori runs into Ash and VJ on the beach as they come out of the water after a surf. They make awkward small talk and once Tori leaves VJ inquires about what is going on between them. Ash confesses that they went on a date the night before and explains the awkwardness around how the date ended. He admits that he did want to take Tori home with him his place just isn’t the ideal bachelor pad. Meanwhile Tori simultaneously unloads to Leah about the same issue; Tori doesn’t know whether or not to take this as a bad sign. After advice from their friends Tori and Ash respectively arrive at the decision to take things slowly and wait until they know that the time is right. Tori runs into Ash and Luc at the diner where they decide to get lunch together, saying that it can be a second date. However Tori is interrupted by a phone call; she needs to get back to the hospital; it is about Mason. Later Ash invites Tori out for a drink. They discuss the awkwardness after last night’s date and realise that they are on the same page and agree that they can move things to the bedroom when the time is right. But as they kiss on it they end up rushing back to the beach house and discovering that it is empty they end up sleeping together. Afterwards they are interrupted when Ash gets up to answer the house phone. He is shocked to discover that it is Mick asking to speak to Irene. What does he want?

Mason expresses his worries to Tori that Beth is deteriorating, he fears that she won’t get a new heart in time. Even if a new heart becomes available it is possible that it might go to someone else who is equally critical. Tori assures Mason that everyone is doing everything that they possibly can to help Beth. Mason seems reassured but when Tori leaves Mason makes a call to the transplant team, pretending to be Beth’s doctor, and tries to get her moved to the top of the list. When he doesn’t like the answer, he is hearing Mason starts to get emotional, screaming at the person on the line that Beth is too young to die and has her whole life ahead of her. When Mason goes to visit Beth afterwards, she can tell that something is wrong but Mason insists that he is fine. Tori asks to see Mason in her office; she has found out about his phone call and asks what the hell he was thinking. Tori berates him, emphasising that Mason has jeopardised his career by doing so but Mason is unperturbed; Beth’s life is more important to him and he wants to do everything that he can to save her. Tori convinces Mason that he just needs to be there for Beth and let the organ transplant team do their job in the meantime. When Mason returns to Beth’s room she asks what happened with Tori. Mason admits that he rang the transplant team and gave them a hard time. Beth, seeing how hard this is for Mason, offers him an out, if it’s all too much for him… but Mason is adamant that he isn’t going anywhere and that he is fine. He tells Beth that he loves her, she says she loves him too. Will this happy couple be torn apart?
