Will Leah get the chance to say goodbye to Zac? Scarlett’s uncomfortable when Justin grills her about her life before Summer Bay. Brody makes a decision that could put his family in danger.
Extended Summary
After Alf inadvertently breaks the news about Zac leaving for Vietnam, Leah finds the letter Zac left for her and break down in his van. Alf finds her and again spills a secret, filling Leah in on Hunter’s paternity situation. Leah is shocked, she had no idea and feels awful for how she spoke to Zac. Hunter convinces Zac to say a proper goodbye to Leah and he finds her on the Pier. She apologises for her treatment of him when he’s been going through tough times with Hunter. Zac will always love Leah but leaving is the right thing to do. He holds her as she cries and then leaves the Bay for good. At home, Leah looks through her wedding album with Zac, mourning the end of her relationship.
Zac gives Hunter his car and makes sure Hunter knows he can call him if he needs anything. After dropping Zac at the airport, Olivia tells Hunter it was brave of him to let Zac go. Hunter admits he thought about asking Zac to stay, but he couldn’t do it in the end. He still feels bad though, he’s going to miss Zac.
Tori invites Scarlett to a Morgan lunch at Salt to thank her for helping with Brody. Justin agrees it’s a good idea, surprising Scarlett. Over lunch, the Morgans, but especially Justin, grill her on her life, making her shut down and become uncomfortable. It’s clear she doesn’t want to talk about her past, but Justin keeps going. Scarlett leaves as soon as she feels she fulfilled her lunch obligation and Tori and Mason rib Justin for being so hard on her. Finding Scarlett fishing off the pier, Alf advises that if she plans to stay in the small town of Summer Bay, Scarlett will have to get used to people wanting to know her business. Not him though. He’s just there for the fish. They bond over their fondness for fishing.
Zannis wants Brody to accept a delivery of drugs at Salt, but Brody is reluctant. Zannis is intrigued when he learns Brody has a little sister, making Brody worry that Zannis might hurt her. At lunch with his family and Scarlett, Brody’s feeling more himself amongst his family and texts Zannis to get lost. Zannis angrily confronts Brody in the bathroom. Brody doesn’t want anything to do with it all anymore and threatens to go to the cops if Zannis persists. Zannis isn’t going to let this go easily though. Brody emerges from the bathroom and his family are happy to see him feeling better about himself. Meanwhile, Zannis steals into the Morgan’s house and pours a clear liquid (poison) into the water jug in the fridge.
