Extended Summary

Brody continues to speed away from the police car, claiming to Raffy that he’s just going back to Salt to get his wallet. Raffy tells him to pull over and he eventually does. Kat and Stevenson get out of the police car. Raffy watches them in the mirror and Brody slips his drugs into the pocket of her bag. Kat asks him what he was doing and he makes out he was going back to get his license. Stevenson, wondering if he was carrying stolen goods, searches the vehicle but only makes a cursory search of Raffy’s bag. Kat does a breathalyser test which is clear but also gets Brody to turn out his pockets, finding the wallet which he pretends not to have known was there. Kat tells him to come to the station for a drug test, bringing Raffy along as well.

Justin and Phoebe go to the Diner, with Justin wondering why she’s hesitating about Donna’s offer. Phoebe reminds him that offers like that have gone wrong before but Justin encourages her to take it. Phoebe says she will if he comes with her. Meanwhile, Roo goes to check on Zac, who says Leah isn’t answering any of his calls or messages, VJ is avoiding the house and Hunter’s angry. Roo tells him that Harvey cheated on her once but she forgave him and he just needs to let Leah work through it.

Kat joins Brody in the interview room and tells him that they’ll be taking a swab and a urine sample, and that he is legally required to co-operate. As Murray comes in to take the samples, she explains that it will show up anything he’s taken in the last twelve hours. Meanwhile, Leah arrives home and she and Zac awkwardly greet each other.

Phoebe continues to try and sell her idea to Justin, who thinks he can’t leave Ash alone at the garage and doesn’t have the money for a ticket. Mason overhears and congratulates Phoebe but doesn’t make things much better by joking that she might get discovered and never come back. Phoebe worries that it’s true but Justin says they’ll cross that bridge when they come to it. He then gets a phone call and hurries off.

At the police station, Kat tells Brody his tests came back clear. However, she wants to know what caused him to drive dangerously with his little sister in the car. Justin arrives at the station and finds Raffy in the waiting room. She gives him a brief update, noting she’s fed up being at police stations with her siblings. Justin tells her to wait in the car while he talks to Kat. She tells him about the tests but also thinks Brody is hiding something. Murray brings Brody through and the brothers leave.

Leah comes downstairs from unpacking. She and Zac exchange updates about her family and what’s been going on there. Leah then says she doesn’t want to talk and kisses him passionately. They head upstairs to the bedroom, lying down on the bed, but Zac senses something is wrong and stops. Leah asks if he looked at Sam like that, before adding that she can’t and hurrying out. Zac follows her downstairs. Leah says she can’t stop thinking about it and presses him for details of what happened with Sam. Zac says he wasn’t thinking but Leah continues in the same vein, asking if Sam’s been there while she was away, before storming out.

Phoebe is on the balcony at the surf club, looking at a text from Donna. Kat joins her; she can’t give any details of what happened with Brody but does say Justin will have his hands full. Phoebe tells her about the gig in LA but isn’t keen on being apart from Justin: It might only be a week but it could lead to more, and eventually she’d have to choose. Kat disagrees, saying Justin wants her to go. At the Diner, Roo and Leah are reunited and Roo apologises for letting Zac use her phone. Leah worries that the news is all around town. She is unsympathetic when Roo tells her Zac’s been worried but admits she still loves him.

Justin, Brody and Raffy arrive at Salt; Raffy is now treating the day’s events as an adventure but Justin sends her to play pool downstairs then summons Brody into the store room for a chat. Brody admits he’s using again and doesn’t know why it didn’t show up on the test. He tells Justin about the drugs in Raffy’s bag (which he has with him) and tells him to take them away. Justin does so, comforting Brody and saying he’ll help him. That evening, Mason and Raffy are eating in Salt as Phoebe says her goodbyes to Justin; Donna is going to pick her up from the house. Mason quickly starts teasing Justin about her meeting someone else. Justin privately assures Brody he isn’t just staying for him and won’t tell anyone else about his lapse.

Zac is taking blankets out of a drawer in the bedroom and tells Leah he’ll make up a bed on the couch. However, Leah says she doesn’t want him sleeping there…or in the house. She tells him to leave.
